Words, just words, are important and because words are merely symbols representing an action, object, feeling/emotion, or ideas/concepts. Using words inappropriately tell others what you really think you said.

For example, change means to move from one state to another. Using the word change by itself is an incomplete sentence. Because it does clarify what it is that is being moved. If you change a tire you have to clarify why you are changing the tire so those you are communicating with have clear understanding of what you mean. Are you changing a flat tire, a worn tire, an under inflated tire, or you are changing a Goodyear to a Firestone.

Therefore, the symbolism used in the word change in this bumper snicker is appropriate. The receiver of the word change was unable to ask the question of Sen. Obombem, “What do mean to change and how do you intend to change it?
Therefore, the receiver in this case could only draw their own conclusion of what Sen. Obombem means when he says ‘Change’.

The real problem lies in the fact that the designer of this bumper snicker tells you what he thinks Sen Obombem means when he uses the word change, based on many other words he has used in his campaign. Thus, symbolically the C and G have been ‘changed’ to identify what the designer thinks ‘change’ means to Sen. Obombem.

The reaction of Sen. Obombem supporters show that there must be some truth in the bumper snicker, and it hurts, based on the reactions of those supporting Sen Obombem.

Dear Christians,

Our religion is just as weird as anybody’s. Come on, who eats the body of their “savior?” Drinking wine as a religious ceremony? Worshipping the dead body of a man claiming to be the “Son of God.” As for violence, the Bible is replete with instances of gratuitous and unfortunate violence towards the guilty and the innocent.

My argument is that it makes us smarter and more moral to learn to disregard the taunts of the cruel, the unhinged, and the stupid. As the Stoic philosophers observed 25 centuries, there will always be jerks and thus we should practice the best way to deal with them–which is let their words roll off our backs like water off a duck’s back. Because I have practiced this, I’m not bothered in the least by the homophobic statements I sometimes see here.

I’d like to add as a Jew that I don’t recall seeing any anti-semantic on HotAir and if there have been some they certainly don’t represent the mainstream view. There do exist people idiotic enough to search for some psycho who has posted something anti-Semitic here and then proceed to get all offended by it. This is not a healthy or moral approach to the world.

This all looked staged to me. Its obvious the Obama camp does not want anyone to bring up Obama’s Islamic past and this looked like a way to get that message out.
