Via Ben Smith, momentarily veering away from the media’s “Family Guy” narrative, the American News Project captures a vignette from the pogrom that wasn’t.

[I’m even supportive of the rights of Westboro Baptist Church to express their opinions at military funerals.

Sure, but can we hope the NEXT funeral they decide to “attend” is also attended by dozens of Army Airborne Ranger members of a violent biker gang who can give those clowns a chance to see who God REALLY hates?

all you can do is call christians names, like a good wacko

right4life on October 21, 2008 at 11:50 AM

Actually, if you had an amount of brain matter detectable with even a microscope, you’d have seen that I’ve been conversing pleasantly with christians in this post. I’ve called them no names, because they haven’t met my questions and disagreement with claims that I’m homosexual, a sinner, a reprobate, etc…

That’s because you’re projecting everything. I hope you enjoyed your conversion party.

I hope you’re not referring to the Patriot Riders. They are NOT violent.

MadisonConservative on October 21, 2008 at 12:01 PM

I know because of your limited intellectual ability that all you can do is call me names when I make you look foolish…not that its very hard.

just remember to take your meds, and you don’t need the tinfoil!

right4life on October 21, 2008 at 12:05 PM

still trying to think up a response there madison?? I bet your fat little face is all red, and you’re ready to cry!!!

right4life on October 21, 2008 at 12:07 PM

Can we please stop being so juvenile as to resort to name-calling? Everyone deserves a better discourse than this.

The only intolerance I saw in that video was against the guy that was trying to hand out his Obama/commie bumper stickers. He thinks Obama is a socialist, which is a fact and an Islamic which is debatable but not absurd to think.

This all looked staged to me. Its obvious the Obama camp does not want anyone to bring up Obama’s Islamic past and this looked like a way to get that message out.

My argument is that it makes us smarter and more moral to learn to disregard the taunts of the cruel, the unhinged, and the stupid. As the Stoic philosophers observed 25 centuries, there will always be jerks and thus we should practice the best way to deal with them–which is let their words roll off our backs like water off a duck’s back. Because I have practiced this, I’m not bothered in the least by the homophobic statements I sometimes see here.

I’d like to add as a Jew that I don’t recall seeing any anti-semantic on HotAir and if there have been some they certainly don’t represent the mainstream view. There do exist people idiotic enough to search for some psycho who has posted something anti-Semitic here and then proceed to get all offended by it. This is not a healthy or moral approach to the world.

Muslims who are not killing non-believers and who believe in loving Christians and Jews … ARE NOT MUSLIMS. They are frauds. Sort of like people who claim to be Christian while going around aborting children, injecting heroin, sleeping with everyone they find attractive, and voting for Obama.

Gregor on October 20, 2008 at 5:27 PM

Dear Christians,

Our religion is just as weird as anybody’s. Come on, who eats the body of their “savior?” Drinking wine as a religious ceremony? Worshipping the dead body of a man claiming to be the “Son of God.” As for violence, the Bible is replete with instances of gratuitous and unfortunate violence towards the guilty and the innocent.

What makes us any better than someone who wakes up as a Muslim? My God does not honor such arrogance and prejudice.

Race is a factor in your rigid, wretched social paradigm. Enjoy.

As a gay-Jewish American, you would know where your views are treated with respect and what segment of society disrespects your lifestyle/beliefs…..

You MUST know that while the left pays you homage and uses you as a talking point, they absolutely DO NOT REALLY believe in your freedoms!

The American conservative movement is the only hope of the oppressed and marginalized citzens of this country. Liberals HATE freedom and if you ever fall out of favor with these Soviet-Americans….you will be the FIRST to suffer the coordinated smear campaign that “Joe the Plumber” is now experiencing.
Your personal life, beliefs, family, livelyhood, acquaintances, hapiness will be sacrificed on the alter of liberalism to further their shallow goals.

Goodeye_Closed, I agree. The only reason non-socialist Jews vote for Obama is ignorance.

Just because you say it calmly doesn’t mean it’s right. If Obama has taught us nothing else…

Shout all you want. Bigotry sucks. It’s obvious there is a problem within the party.

Hit and run.

A bumper snicker that tells the truth. Sen. Obombem has promised change after change. But, he has not clearly identified the who, what, when, where, and most important why change is important at this juncture of our political history.

Words, just words, are important and because words are merely symbols representing an action, object, feeling/emotion, or ideas/concepts. Using words inappropriately tell others what you really think you said.

For example, change means to move from one state to another. Using the word change by itself is an incomplete sentence. Because it does clarify what it is that is being moved. If you change a tire you have to clarify why you are changing the tire so those you are communicating with have clear understanding of what you mean. Are you changing a flat tire, a worn tire, an under inflated tire, or you are changing a Goodyear to a Firestone.

Therefore, the symbolism used in the word change in this bumper snicker is appropriate. The receiver of the word change was unable to ask the question of Sen. Obombem, “What do mean to change and how do you intend to change it?
Therefore, the receiver in this case could only draw their own conclusion of what Sen. Obombem means when he says ‘Change’.

The real problem lies in the fact that the designer of this bumper snicker tells you what he thinks Sen Obombem means when he uses the word change, based on many other words he has used in his campaign. Thus, symbolically the C and G have been ‘changed’ to identify what the designer thinks ‘change’ means to Sen. Obombem.

The reaction of Sen. Obombem supporters show that there must be some truth in the bumper snicker, and it hurts, based on the reactions of those supporting Sen Obombem.
