Video: Birthday girl hits Obama on “socialist roots”
posted at 7:27 pm on October 20, 2008 by Allahpundit
Birthday punches are duly administered, but to The One, not to her. Is the alarm sounded by Maverick over “spreading the wealth around” being heard? Well, eight percent of Ohioans and Missourians claim Joe the Plumber’s more likely to make them vote for McCain versus four percent and three percent for Obama, respectively. Doesn’t seem like much, but the final margin in both states is expected to be razor thin. More significantly, Gallup shows huge majorities are less interested in income redistribution than in fixing the economy — leaving open the question of what happens when redistribution schemes are linked (or, more cynically, spun as) fix-it attempts. That’s where you come in, media. Don’t let Barry down.
Lest anyone doubt that I have a tender side, here’s the card I sent the boss on her big day.

I really like how Cavuto lets his guests speak.
Lol. That’s, um, sweet. Funny.
Spirit of 1776 on October 20, 2008 at 7:31 PM
Saw this earlier today. MM is going to get lots of touching birthday wishes for that “call a socialist spade a spade” bit.

In general, birthdays suck.
Still, I hope Michelle has one full of good times and cute homemade cards from the kids.

Ok, I live in Baltimore MD, I witness an Obama ad at every other commerical break during all of the NCAA and NFL games for two weeks running. I have both DirecTV football packages and I watch a lot of games. He was everywhere I turned! So….How many Obama ads will we see tonight during the Monday night game DEN vs NE?
I say 4 per half.
They are all the same McCain “Im not George Bush” ad’s.
My point; socialist saturation and 350 million in illegal donations trumps…..everything.
OSUBuciz1 on October 20, 2008 at 7:37 PM
Obama* has flip-flopped on more than thirty issues, but he wants us to trust him when he says he won’t raise taxes on most of us, even though he has voted for the vast majority of the tax increases he’s encountered, and he’s voted against most tax cuts. He wants us to trust him that he’ll govern as a centrist, even though his entire career has been extreme left-wing (the non-partisan National Journal citied Obama as the Senate’s most liberal member).
I remember doubting Governor Bill Clinton when he repeatedly promised America a middle-class tax cut, and I remember his excuses for not delivering it. Clinton was never the liberal extremist that Obama has been–and I am convinced still is.
Those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it.

Unfortunately what Michelle is saying will be drowned out by accusations of racism since she used the term “calling a spade a spade” even though the idiom predates the use of “spade” as a racist slur.

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism,” said Norman Thomas, a U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate in the 1940s. “But under the name of ‘liberalism,’ they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day, America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”
If it is to be, let’s do it with our eyes open, aware of every ponderous step.

My father-in-law in Westminster makes 6… my husband would make 7, but technically he belongs to VA (thank you military). I was so happy to see McCain signs the other weekend up in MD, but then again, it was in Carroll County.
When I move up next year, you can add another to the list!
Anna on October 20, 2008 at 7:45 PM
I agree, Spirit. I think he may be the best interviewer on Fox, or at least up there with Hume and Wallace.

I would have sent you a card, but I figured buying one was akin to Capitalist oppression and coercion. Shouldn’t the Govt buy me X number of birthday cards per year so I can distribute them? And where are my Soviet shoes? I need a new pair, the carboard soles in my last pair wore through–and Winter is upon us here in Montana despite Al Goreacles Gorebal Warming predcitions.
Oh, wait a cotton-pickin’-minute! (<–now I am a racist) Birthdays are a celebration of the INDIVIDUAL and of LIFE.
Ban Birthdays. It will be for the common good–for the collective–the hive. And the suggestion that LIFE is worth celebrating is Unconstitutional. It goes against a woman’s RIGHT to (insert euphemism here).

I think someone should create a new television show called lifestyles of the rich and famous polititians! Just to contrast their so called positions on helping ‘the middle class’. This would show them as the elitist bastards they are all of them. Or mabey call the show Cribs of the House!

And a very Happy Birthday Michelle. Many thanks for the inspriation and information you give us via your websites.
Dude, I can’t belive someone went out and found out what day Heinrich Himmler’s birthday was. Of all the odd facts to find out about that guy, his birthday was not one I ever expected to see. Trippy list. I can only remember one famous person I share a birthday with..Rick Springfield. Nothing more need be said. :)

OSUBuciz1, another b’more resident here. I saw plenty of those adds last night and frankly, I’m sick of them! I can’t wait for this silly season to be over. Of course, I would really be happier if McCain were doing better. I’ve seen nothing but Obama/Biden signs throughout my ‘hood and I alway think how disappointed these sheep will feel on Nov 5 when McCain wins. But the sad fact is that I don’t feel that confident.
Laura, I wish there were more of us to counter the liberalism that our fellow citizens suffer from.
And finally, Happy Birthday Michelle. (I’m always late with these sorts of things)
