Actually, it worked very well...many in the Silent Majority stayed home or voted for 'none of the above.' That won't be the case in this election.

McCain will win. Make book on it.

I think if elections were about logic, the dems would be cooked to a nice crispy black by now, but elections seem to turn on emotion, or wallets, or whatever drives you and I nuts about how elections are won. The emotional wave is currently flowing the dems direction - not as huge and menacing as it was a year ago, but still flowing, and the economic issue is powering it now.

Plus, I think we underestimate how badly GWB has soured huge chunks of the electorate on the Republican Brand, and try as he might, McCain has not been able to forcibly remove himself from the Bush legacy. Additionally, McCain has to connect with voters deeply, and hasn’t.

Like ManlyRash, I look to history for guidance, but unlike him, I think that history is not on our side this time.

November 3, 2:34 AM, finally over-saturated with didactic Obama campaign commercials, 51% of America has seen one too many and yells back to the screen:

IMO the money is a net negative. It belies the mantra about how the economy is so bad, while at the same time raising questions about where it came from. Additionally, I have yet to see anyone buy an election. Kerry outspent Bush two to one, for what?

Senator McCain is hoist on his own petard with McCain-Feingold. While I will be voting for him next month, I don;t feel any sympathy when it involves his fundraising. He burned his bridges to the conservatives too many times, and only Governor Palin as his running mate has given him assitance with his fundraising. Without her, he would be 15 points or more behind the traitor. No crocodile tears here, just fear for my country. Maybe he should have remembered the kind of men his father and grandfather were- I doubt that they would have pulled the same stunts and sponsored the legislation that he did, in the name of "bi-partisanship".

George Soros injecting millions of his own money into a campaign is arguably an attempt to exert undue influence and "buy an election".

Unless you have evidence Obama's $150 million comes primarily from large single donations are you seriously implying that only government-funded elections are clean? I realize it's McCain who's raising the issue, a guy who's firmly for limiting political speech. He has no problem using taxpayer funds, so long as it's filtered through the government rather than the free expression of individuals.

Once again, who's the socialist here?

George Soros injecting millions of his own money into a campaign is arguably an attempt to exert undue influence and “buy an election”.

Unless you have evidence Obama’s $150 million comes primarily from large single donations are you seriously implying that only government-funded elections are clean? I realize it’s McCain who’s raising the issue, a guy who’s firmly for limiting political speech. He has no problem using taxpayer funds, so long as it’s filtered through the government rather than the free expression of individuals.

Obama’s Secret Campaign Cash: Has $63 Million Flowed from Foreign Sources?

As Barack Obama reaped a stunning $150 million in campaign donations in September, bringing his total to more than $600 million, new questions have arisen about the source of his amazing funding.

By Obama’s own admission, more than half of his contributions have come from small donors giving $200 or less. But unlike John McCain’s campaign, Obama won’t release the names of these donors.

A Newsmax canvass of disclosed Obama campaign donors shows worrisome anomalies, including outright violations of federal election laws.

For example, Obama has numerous donors who have contributed well over the $4,600 federal election limit.

Many of these donors have never been contacted by the Obama campaign to refund the excess amounts to them.

And more than 37,000 Obama donations appear to be conversions of foreign currency.

Will it be destroyed by fiery revolution, or, will it simply rot from the core until i finally disappears?

Nobody cares enough to actually have a revolution, and the boys in blue have turned into stormtroopers in black. They'd quash us like bugs. The Patriot Act will enable Obama to have revolutionaries and dissenters arrested as terrorists.

Best just to turn up American Idol a little louder, to shout down all those voices in our souls.

It has been bought!

I certainly hope all the liberals, Marxists, socialists and communists enjoy the purchase of their hopelessly divided country. Now, the only questions are: Will it be destroyed by fiery revolution, or, will it simply rot from the core until i finally disappears?

I remember Soros spending all that money in an effort to defeat W... how'd that work out for him? About as well as campaign finance reform is working out for McCain....

Soros put $811 million he put into Petrobras last summer at $50 a share and it's now trading around $25... no wonder Mr. Good Will is wearing out Mr. Soros' credit card giving to Obama. If Obama win's, that line from the SNL video reflecting him as "Owner, Democrat Party" can be changed to "Owner, United States Government"
