Video: “Plumbers Cracking the Case for Truth” launches attack ad on Joe the Plumber

Via Ben Smith. My reaction after one viewing: Overweening horror that our politics has come to this. After a second viewing, having now noticed the graphic that accompanies the group’s name: Wonderment at who might be responsible for this subversive little parody. Truth be told, I can’t decide if it’s a right-wing goof on the media’s coverage or some lefty kidding on the square and unable to resist tossing in a gratuitous plumber/buttcrack joke. You make the call!

If nothing else good comes of this, at least it’s forced people to take a second look at licensing laws.

Blowback

Hey, good catch there, PocketPoolMania!

Democrats will do what all Democrat politicians do and what all Democrat politicians have done historically.

Lie, cheat, murder and steal.

Democrat politicians are all worthless scum and anyone who votes for them willingly is a complete idiot.

From another thread, but pretty much sums up my definition of the Bizarre Right.

OK, Cool. I can agree with about half that. Thank you for your courteous reply.

Buchanan definitely gives conservatism a bad name all too often anymore.

Although most of Limbaugh’s fans can and do think for themselves… Limbaugh just expresses things better than a lot of them do, and has the big microphone, so they just say ‘ditto’.

I’m not a big Rush fan, personally, (although I thank God he is there) I don’t think I have ever quoted him, but he has actually quoted ME (one of my FR posts a few years ago). So don’t confuse agreement with inability to think for ones self.

And I’m not a particularly strong ‘believer’, but I certainly see some amazing parallels with the end-of-days prophecies with the CURRENT Democrats getting near the White House. Anyone that doesn’t see those parallels is either ignorant of them, or is a fool whistling past the graveyard.

many of Rush’s dittoheads who can’t seem to think for themselves

Any examples you would care to cite?

Mostly they are those who seem susceptible to conspiracy theory overload

Like the 9-11 Troofers and the Bush Lied and the Halliburton crowd over at Huffpo and DKos?

constantly blame the MSM and the Democratic Party for all of the ills of this country

Can you point to any inviduals or groups who constantly blame the MSM and the Democrats for ALL the ills?

Can you specifically point to examples of the same degree of unhinged, feral hatred and rage on the part of the “bizarre right” as can be easily observed on the part of the bizarre left?

Thanks for the reply, I certainly don’t want to infer that all Rush fans, or all believers, are on the Bizarre Right (I am no Hitchens), just those on the continuum who cannot seem to make rational choices anymore.

Do you fear being included, TesticularTorment? You shouldn’t. HA is a hangout of many. See my post from 4:17 pm.

don’t speak in code. I think Buchanan often swings into the bizarre right, as do some Christian Conservatives, like the late Mr. Falwell, and many of Rush’s dittoheads who can’t seem to think for themselves. Mostly they are those who seem susceptible to conspiracy theory overload, constantly blame the MSM and the Democratic Party for all of the ills of this country, and see the end of days approaching if a Democrat gets near the White House.

I have to agree with Trailboss, somewhat, on this one. I see a type of person that exists in every movement that is, in general, problematic for society. They can not stomach dissent from their beliefs, and to defend their beliefs they will resort to violence. These whack jobs exist on both sides, although I think the left has the greater population.

Again…remember what OBAMA said

Jamson64 on October 17, 2008 at 6:36 PM

Uh,, his name is Joe. It just happens to be his middle name. So what??? My family called me by my middle name?? He is a plumber. He doesn’t need a license if he’s working for someone else. he never said he made $250,000. He just said he wanted to buy a plumbing business and THEN it would put him in the $250,000 range.
The best revenge is success. Joe needs to run for congress!

JellyToast on October 17, 2008 at 6:57 PM

Politically, plumbers haven’t had this much play since “Watergate”.
