Video: “Plumbers Cracking the Case for Truth” launches attack ad on Joe the Plumber
posted at 1:25 pm on October 17, 2008 by Allahpundit
Via Ben Smith. My reaction after one viewing: Overweening horror that our politics has come to this. After a second viewing, having now noticed the graphic that accompanies the group’s name: Wonderment at who might be responsible for this subversive little parody. Truth be told, I can’t decide if it’s a right-wing goof on the media’s coverage or some lefty kidding on the square and unable to resist tossing in a gratuitous plumber/buttcrack joke. You make the call!
If nothing else good comes of this, at least it’s forced people to take a second look at licensing laws.

It’s some lefty… if it were someone on the right doing it as a parody it would have worked spreading the wealth in somehow.
Laura on October 17, 2008 at 1:28 PM
Typical leftist hit-piece on Joe six pack.
Richard Romano on October 17, 2008 at 1:29 PM
Whoever made this video is 1) ignorant of reality 2) scared to the point of wearing depends everywhere it goes, and 3) pathetic and probably a member of the House Democrats.

That was funny as crap. Total parody.

Is PCtCFT like 9/11 Truth, or slightly more nuanced?
Ridiculous. An Attack Ad against a guy who questioned The One in a rope line.
Joe isn’t running for office, dip*&%s.

you won’t find a place in the country where unlicensed plumbers are not doing work with licensed plumbers or without… and you never will…
Kaptain Amerika on October 17, 2008 at 1:31 PM
Although after watching it, I can’t help think it’s a parody. Seriously, the plumber crack at the end is pretty much the giveaway they aren’t serious.
BKennedy on October 17, 2008 at 1:31 PM
As far as licensing laws, his employer said he didn’t need one. If my employer told me that, I probably would not have gotten one. But now he shall be punished. Makes me so proud.
Glynn on October 17, 2008 at 1:31 PM
It’s a parody. You really like there’s a Plumbers Cracking the Case PAC?
lodge on October 17, 2008 at 1:31 PM
Plus, if it were done by someone on the right, it would have actually been funny.

Parody, and a damn good one, too.

not quite OT, but read the comments after the CNN story noted above about “Hecklers wave Plungers at Obama?
That’s what we’re up against: sick, rabid, deranged Leftards who will do anything to get B Hussien into office

Parody.
Let’s run it on TV for the backlash factor.

Yep. They placed in a humorous way, but used it to point out Joe’s tax and license issue.

It’s not about Joe, it’s about Senator Government.
All this is just a distraction from the point Senator Government made to Joe.
Amazing that the media (and many bloggers) aren’t as fascinated by that.

It’s got to be right wing parody. His name isn’t really Joe! Shocking!
fwiw, Christine Louise Douglas and Anthony J. Lee weren’t the real names of Bernadine Dohrn and William Ayers either.

Its a double barreled shot of satire akin to the New Yorker comic. In the New Yorker front page it was them making fun of themselves, pretending to be us. Now, its them, making fun of us, pretending to be us.
BohicaTwentyTwo on October 17, 2008 at 1:40 PM
Oh, by the way, the purpose of showing how much cops make in Boston is to show people who think a Plumber who owns his own business can’t make $250K are badly wrong.
TheBigOldDog on October 17, 2008 at 1:40 PM
Anything to deflect from Obama’s answer to Joe’s question.

Doesn’t matter, Obama still said he wanted to “spread the wealth around.” Obama’s philosophy was on display, and that’s really the point.
jeffersonschild on October 17, 2008 at 1:43 PM
Massive disinformation/smear campaign to take the focus off Obama calling for redistribution of wealth.

This is why I can’t be friends with liberals. I know who they really are, and it makes me sick.
JustTruth101 on October 17, 2008 at 1:45 PM
Exactly. In the words of Charlie Gibson, they want people to get lost in a blizzard of information so they forget the entire point they’re talking about Joe the Plumber.
Enoxo on October 17, 2008 at 1:46 PM
Sure it’s a parody, but from the Left. It’s designed to take focus off of Fauxbama’s marxist redistribution answer to JTP and put focus on to JTP himself, someone who actually WORKS for a living, something I don’t believe Barry Osnotball and his jock supporters are familiar with. No wonder they jeer JTP. What a dumb sucker. Acutally working!! Har har, that’s for people too dumb to game the system.
The impulse to produce the most vitriol in any general election ever is now an unbridled force of its own, and it cant be stopped. McCain had better be read to get down in the dirt with Hobama, who will sell whatever is left of his cold cheesy soul to the lowest bidder. Otherwise, a very clean McCain will be sitting with Cindy on a deck chair in Sedona in January.

No, he wasn’t.
He was playing catch in his own god damned yard when The One decided to connect with a clinger.

I don’t know who that guy is either, or what the point is – I just wanted to point out that lefties, in fact, are posting and shrieking like poo flinging monkeys things pretty much straight out of the “parody” ad:

You know, I don’t care if this is a frigging joke or not.
What I am not laughing at is that the MSM has now gone after a PRIVATE CITIZEN over the right to express his opposition to B.O.’s idiotic share-the-wealth idea.
This is not a politician, this is not a McCain plant, this is a PRIVATE CITIZEN who is being attacked by the MSM.
THIS is the level these MSM clowns will now stoop to!
There is NO level lower than this!
pilamaye on October 17, 2008 at 1:53 PM
I think the left is more upset about that fact that someone without an MSM license was allowed to ask a question of The One.
Still, I think plumbers’ licenses are a good idea. I read somewhere the city said that he had done all the required work for a journeyman or some such, but he just didn’t have the certificate.

Seems like a serious clip to me with some humor tossed in at the end. I’m betting a union financed this.
kongzilla on October 17, 2008 at 1:54 PM
The lefties don’t seem to think names matter when it comes to a politician running for President named Hussein, but thinks it’s very important that we know a plumber named Samuel Joseph goes by Joe. I think it’s time to revisit the whole Hussein thing based upon their demand for strict naming convention.

Funny parody. But it also helps me to realize something.
I have decided to cease and desist from aspiring to make my financial portion of the American Dream come true.
I no longer want to be wealthy.
I’m just fine and dandy under the $250,000 income level.
I have no desire to work my @ss off and finance the lives of the professionally lazy and life-long career students, and see the sum total of 20 of my 52 money earning weeks a year stolen from me and given away to those who flat refuse to get off their @sses and earn it for themselves.

The Video that could cost Obama the election:
http://www.nextgenerationcorp.com/NextGenBlog/?p=68
Poll finds American reject redistribution of wealth as suggested by Barack Hussein Obama.
PRINCETON, NJ — When given a choice about how government should address the numerous economic difficulties facing today’s consumer, Americans overwhelmingly — by 84% to 13% — prefer that the government focus on improving overall economic conditions and the jobs situation in the United States as opposed to taking steps to distribute wealth more evenly among Americans.
Read: http://www.gallup.com/poll/108445/Americans-Oppose-Income-Redistribution-Fix-Economy.aspx
Americans Oppose Income Redistribution to Fix Economy
[Note: Elect John McCain for a free America and economic growth.]
AdrianS on October 17, 2008 at 1:59 PM
This has got to be a joke, right? Joe’s middle name is Joseph. He goes by Joe. Do you have to own a plumbing business to be a plumber, or can you do plumbing for a plumbing business and be a plumber?
I hope lots of Americans see that pathetic attempt at an ad. I’ll turn people off.

This JTPDS is really going to backfire and it’ll be fun to watch.
tru2tx on October 17, 2008 at 2:03 PM
Unless one of them is a hot chick. Not the older ones – they really believe that crap and have the exterior ugliness to reinforce the inner beast.
I mean the younger ones – usually college age – of whom a great many are very hot. They are witless, incredibly stupid and ultimately gullible – as most, if not all, Obama voters are.
All you have to do is wear an Obama button, chant hopeandchange and then utter Buck Fush under your breath as you move in for the kill. Tell her you were there, that night, at Invesco Field and you heard The One speak. Tell her that you got it.
Because, when it comes to liberal chicks, if you don’t get it…you don’t get it.
The following morning you drop a $20 bill on her dresser and say “Oh, by the way, Ronald Reagan came to me in a dream last night and we had had a chat. I’ve decided to vote for McCain. it was fun, sweet thang, but now I really DO have to take a shower.”
The look on her face as you walk out the door…priceless.
ManlyRash on October 17, 2008 at 2:03 PM
Really funny.
If it turned out that it was intended as a serious attack, that would only put it over the top into hilarious.
ClintACK on October 17, 2008 at 2:04 PM
Parody or not, reading the comments from Obama’s supporters on Smith’s blog, their attitude — and the attitude of others trying to defend the attacks on Wurzelbacher sound an awful lot like the people who attack a rape victim for how she was dressed, where she was hanging out or who she was with.
Basically, they’re saying “He deserved it” for asking Obama the question, or the more ‘thoughtful’ ones are trying to argue McCain is responsible for the raping of Wurzelbacher’s reputation because he dared use his name multiple times in the debate, as if that meant the Obama supporters had no other choice but to destroy him (and just to clarify, investigating to see if there’s a connection between Joe and McCain or any 527 or pro-Republican group is legitimate; publishing his phone number, tax liens, marital history and moving to get him fired from his apprentice plumber’s job is not).

Vivendi Studios brings you the heartwarming tale of a father, a plumber…an AMERICAN. One man took on The One, exposing the socialism-lite of this year’s Democrat nominee. Starring Michael Chiklis as Joe the Plumber, and Samuel L. Jackson as Barack Obama. Rated PG.

Next time anyone says, “His name isn’t Joe – he’s a fraud”, remind them that JTP is PROUD of his middle name, versus Hussein the Politician (HTP).
Yes, everyone can use ‘HTP’ without royalties.
fred5678 on October 17, 2008 at 2:17 PM
I don’t think it is a parody really. I think it is a slyly presented attack on Joe the Plumber and McCain. They are trying to add some humor at the end to lessen the disgust over it.
Regardless of how you feel about Joe the Plumber, the attacks on him illustrate the storm trooper tactics of the left. This is the most egregious effort to suppress an opposing view since McCarthyism. It is over the line and it should scare the hell out of all of us.

They had to destroy him. They tried to just let it die down and fade away, but then McCain made extensive use of his name in the debate, and that sealed his fate. However, they have only been able to find his tax lien. He must be a pretty squeaky clean guy if that’s all they could find.

Hey, GroinRage, Trailboss has a life to live, unlike you wealthy ne’r do wells.
The bizarre right is the mirror image of the feral left, and due to your intermittent but recurrent bouts of logic, I certainly wouldn’t lump you in that category.
I don’t speak in code. I think Buchanan often swings into the bizarre right, as do some Christian Conservatives, like the late Mr. Falwell, and many of Rush’s dittoheads who can’t seem to think for themselves. Mostly they are those who seem susceptible to conspiracy theory overload, constantly blame the MSM and the Democratic Party for all of the ills of this country, and see the end of days approaching if a Democrat gets near the White House.
trailboss on October 17, 2008 at 4:06 PM
I guess humor is in the eye of the beholder. I don’t get it. I’ve never gotten the New Yorker cartoons, either, so I guess I’m just stoopid. Why is this funny? And so, therefore, why is it a parody–put together by a group on the right? I guess maybe the tagline at the end? Beats me.
