Nothing I can say will prove her point better than McClatchy’s moronic, sneering headline, so I’ll just steer you over there and let it speak for itself. As for whether JTP is or isn’t free to ply his trade without a license, the answer appears to be: Depends.
Cheryl Schimming, a permit specialist for the Lucas County Building Regulations Department, which licenses plumbers, confirmed that Wurzelbacher does not have a license but that [his boss, Al] Newell does hold an Ohio license. But Wurzelbacher told reporters, and Schimming agreed, that because he works for a licensed plumber, he is not required to have one.
The Toledo department of building inspection says otherwise, which I guess means he’s okay to practice county-wide but not within the city limits. Sic ‘im, media! Exit quotation: “He’s not ‘unlicensed.’ He’s ‘undocumented.’”

How are apprentices supposed learn plumbing if they can’t even work on a job supervised by a licensed plumber. Something seems a little out of whack there. Licensed plumbers are responsible for the jobs, but does that mean nobody else can even touch a pipe? I doubt it.
A similar situation is when engineers have CAD operators, engineering grads who have not completed certification do drawings and then the Professional Engineer reviews and stamps them if they are OK. Non-PEs do engineering work all the time under the supervision of a PE who is ultimately responsible for the final product.

That’s the way it is here in my town for electricians. And it’s really a hassle at times for small jobs because sometimes the low bidder won’t hassle with getting the city license.

I already tried to pay it for him this morning and received confirmation that his lien was paid by another person earlier today with a credit card.
I also tried to get info. on an alledge bill he owed the St. Charles Mercy Hospital but they would not confirm for confidential reasons.
I wouldn’t be surprised if someboyd PRE-PAID next year’s taxes for him.

Think of this: if you get a plumber involved in scrutiny of your system (in this case read BHO campaign) he/she may be the one to discover and expose the fact that the system is disfunctional percisely because every change in direction and every hope for a successful flush is blocked by a turd.

I can rest easy that if a candidate for President, had communist parents, a communist child molesting mentor, went to school in Indonesia, came back to the States and sought out marxists radical feminists and radicals and terrorists of all stripes and had racist preachers as close friends, had obstructed laws to outlaw infanticide and partial birth abortion, had no experience to speak of, and was endorsed by all the enemies of the USA, then the media would in twenty four hours, but not more than one week, bring all this to the attention of the voting public with the same energy they went after Joe the Plumber for receiving the unexpected naked truth from that same candidate.

It would be a miracle if they would investigate some of Obama’s more questionable associations with as much vigor. The problem is that Joe is calling himself a plumber rather than an apprentice to a plumber.
A plumber must have a license, but the aprentices working for him for would not have their own license.
In general plumbers must work as an aprentice under a licensed plumber for a number of years before they can officially become a licensed plumber themselves.
Nuance… much like Obaman’s nuanced campaign.

Most guys work with a plumber as an apprentice until they learn and can pass the test to be licensed. Also Joe wants to BUY the business some day he never said he makes 250 grand.
