I thought Iraq didn’t have a functioning government. Isn’t that Mr. Obama’s party line? Now I find that the titular head of that nonfunctioning government is doing some form of internal diplomacy.

Jalal Talabani is the President (i.e. titular head) of Iraq.

This has to be fake!

But the internal diplomacy is with a religious leader. Shouldn’t we now be concerned that religious considerations are infiltrating this nonfunctioning government? Isn’t that something that goes completely against the grain of the concept of separation of church and state?

Do we even want to consider supporting a nonfunctioning government which imposes its will via fatwa?

Who purpled their finger for Sistani? Strange democracy that bows to unelected religious figures. Oh yeah, I forgot, it’s a sharia state wearing democracy as a disguise, just like Iran.
