Video: Was there too much sex and profanity in the HBO presidential debate?

Not for my taste, there wasn’t. And I quite agree with the guy who thought the fade to black just before McCain’s closing statement was brilliant. At this point, the things we imagine him saying are so much more galvanizing than the things he actually does say.
I think I speak for all of us, too, in saying that the VP debate sounds awesome. No wonder Biden wants to look his best. Content warning.

Hopefully you can assist him with his inaugural speech. ;-)

I heard McCain did pretty well telling the jokes tonight…

I’ll watch the VP debate ironically (unclothed) as well.
lorien1973 on October 16, 2008 at 9:50 PM
Sex and profanity, isn’t that the reason HBO exists?
Tommy_G on October 16, 2008 at 9:53 PM
Uuurpp. Sorry…I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Obama- the humor stops here!
profitsbeard on October 16, 2008 at 9:56 PM
Yes, he did well. He was quite funny.

McCain shut the club down. He ripped Mathews about the thrill up the leg and said that he was sorry he could do fighter pilot but not Messiah. Then he told Olbermann to go back in the room with the padded walls, or something like that. He talked about how miserable MSNC would be if he pulls this thing out, Brian Williams found it funny. He joked about Bill Jeff conveniently not being able to campaign for Obama due to holiday’s which got Hillary laughing.

I thought it was funny that they didn’t show Crissy’s reaction.

I guess the “fade to black” was a reference to The Sopranos last episode.

That was good.

Don’t fret, Your Grace. I’m sure it will soon be available on the FNC site or YouTube. I shall keep a sharp eye peeled for it.
ManlyRash on October 16, 2008 at 10:25 PM
LOL, Obambo had the perma-grin, I don’t think he thought it was truly funny.
Now the Zoroastrian New Year joke was funny.
Bishop on October 16, 2008 at 10:26 PM
The Blue Herald link is kinda choppy. I need to wait for a better copy to finish watching.

Have you been sneaking into the communion wine cabinet again?
Bishop on October 16, 2008 at 10:28 PM
Ok, the little bits I can catch are really funny. Couric looked mad.
Bishop on October 16, 2008 at 10:30 PM
I cannot believe I’m writing this. McCain was actually funny as hell. Not funny FOR McCain, but Funny. Period. He was my senator for years and I had no idea ol’ Mac could be really funny..but he was also very classy
He hit the Clintons, Chris Matthews, K. Overbite… His pet name for Obama…. It was a riot!
If you haven’t seen it ….find it. Mac rocked.

I’m too old for this.
“W”? Just lost my dinner.

Abso*hic*lutely not, Your Grace.
ManlyRash on October 16, 2008 at 10:44 PM
McCain was hilarious and Oslime-a’s routine was mostly just another stump speech.
csdeven on October 16, 2008 at 10:47 PM
I’m watching the Rays beat down the Sox right now. I can only hope this is how the election turns out (McCain as the underdog Rays, Obama as the entitled, elitist Red Sox).

Rarely has one man spoken so precisely for so many others. That’s why you’re Chief Dude, AP.
Baphomet on October 16, 2008 at 10:52 PM
McCain kicked Obama’s you know what at this dinner.
Obama looked uncomfortable except when he was laughing at his own jokes.
One of my favorite parts was when McCain asked Hillary where Bill was.

This coming from the man who thinks rape scenes on South Park isn’t a big deal.
