cinnamon works for nicotine cravings as well. A stick a day to chew on.
LOL too funny.
Worm Root makes a man erect longer then the little “blue” pills.

Dam, now I feel old… I’ve got combat boots older than you are…
Romeo13 on October 16, 2008 at 4:55 PM
Yes but try to find the little can to shine them up. I still can’t find them. And you can’t use a lighter anymore to light them cans on fire to shine them either.
upinak on October 16, 2008 at 4:57 PM
Is the effect the same if brewed like tea?
I’m asking because I quit cold turkey about a month ago when I reluctantly went to the doc about some chest pains and he mentioned that I had some early signs of COPD. Since then the cravings have started to hit me a little harder each week.
Also does this have any side effects during sleep like chantix?
leetpriest on October 16, 2008 at 4:59 PM
If it worked that well, it wouldn’t be called worm root.

The point is that it is a personal choice that is less harmful than alcohol. Both should be legal.
But, living in a city with a very unamerican smoking ban (while they love to tax the hell out of my cigarettes) I have ebbing faith in Americans’ real desire for individual freedom.

Ha! I LIKE this gal!! Don’t know how long you’ve been on HA, but it’ll be my first time saying WELCOME!! :)

I was in my senior year of college in 2004. It rained on election day. Guess how many of my fellow students rolled out of bed or away from the PS2s to go vote?
Yeah…

O man…..thanks for letting everyone know. All this time the chicks were thinking I was a Manly stud.
ManlyRash on October 16, 2008 at 5:01 PM
Perfect. I’m with you all the way.
I bet that ACORN purchased swamp land smelled better before all the liberals moved there.

I refer to it as Python Root – but that’s just me. Individual results may vary.
ManlyRash on October 16, 2008 at 5:03 PM
Which in turn was the one of the most admirable traits of men like Jefferson.
If only Jefferson were here, he’d slap some sense into us all.

American idol rules ….jeez !Its just a popular contest right??? ( Sarcasm on )
beachkatie on October 16, 2008 at 5:03 PM
If any – or all – of the Fathers were here, heck even Hamilton at this point, I think there’d be a lot more than some slapping going on.

Encouraging lung disease isn’t either, so should we outlaw tobacco? How about alcohol? Porn? Fried foods? It’s all for a good cause, after all.
CherokeeJack on October 16, 2008 at 5:04 PM
Were you, like, two years old when you played Zork? Or are you just a retro game fanatic?

Thank you.

Sadly, I would have missed the Judge Julie picture, as I have no clue who that is.

That’s Judge Judy and she probably would make better decisions that Ruth Bader Ginsberg with one hand tied behind her back.

tickleddragon on October 16, 2008 at 5:10 PM
Did you know you could play Zork online? There is a “Google Gadget” that will let you put it on any webpage with just a couple of lines of code. I have it on one of my websites, just for kicks.

Side effects include: pain, nausea, disorientation, fainting, hallucinations, bleeding from the orifices, blindness, deafness, loss of sense of smell, loss of speech, difficulty breathing, coma, and death.
But we have a pill that takes care of the death.

I really think the base should be rallying round Judge Wapner at the moment. He’s a steady, calming voice in these troubled times.
CherokeeJack on October 16, 2008 at 5:16 PM
Ya’ll, I’m telling you, there are students in my Tuesday/Thursday government class who don’t know what city they are in. (The answer, by the way, is Houston. Perhaps you’ve heard of it?)
And no, I’m not kidding.
paul006 on October 16, 2008 at 5:16 PM
Voting is a right, not a requirement. If you don’t feel informed enough to vote, don’t. If you don’t like any of the choices, don’t vote. Simple.
Seixon on October 16, 2008 at 5:17 PM
Been to Houston several times growing up, usually for band or extracurricular stuff. CRAAAAAAAAAZY city. Not quite Austin, but close.

Lets get some perspective here. Debbie is batshit crazy 99% of the time. So, you’ve been warned.
Andy in Agoura Hills on October 16, 2008 at 5:21 PM
I was talking to a 17 year old friend of mine last week and he asked me who I was voting for. When I replied “McCain” he gasped and uttered a long drawn out “Whyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeee?” I saw my chance and schooled him in a short lesson on Obamas ties to ACORN and Ayres.
He was shocked to say the least.
When I went back to college at the age of 45 I was appalled to see some of the papers the kids were turning in. If I hadn’t been enrolled in the same class I would have sworn they were turning in the papers for the LOLCat websites. Lord I wish they wouldn’t vote.
GoodBoy on October 16, 2008 at 5:22 PM
What’s ABC complaining about? There’s just that many more idiots for them to brainwash.
Tom Blogical on October 16, 2008 at 5:23 PM
You do make a good point, and from that angle, there’s no way that I can make an argument without abandoning my principals.
However, imagine the bulk of America baked on a Monday morning. What good would this do for anyone? In thinking about this, don’t compare it to alcohol, they obviously don’t have the same effect. Being that Marijuana doesn’t do permanent damage to the brain and liver like alcohol does (vaporizing and oral ingestion also eliminate health risks associated with use), the appeal to be baked anytime, anywhere is much higher than being drunk all the time.
I’m not saying that a ban on the drug isn’t restricting freedom, I’m just saying that the consequences of legalizing it countrywide are unknown, and potentially more dangerous to an entire society.
leetpriest on October 16, 2008 at 5:28 PM
Like a royal rumble-style duel?
leetpriest on October 16, 2008 at 5:31 PM
Should some people not vote? You betchya! Of course a good number of them, ACORN’s efforts not forgotten, don’t actually vote thank God. The founders never intended the vote to be given to every moron that draws breath but I oppose any ‘test’ to vote on the basis that who exactly gets to determine what the correct answers are? Obama? The Supreme Court? Congress?
NO THANK YOU!
Now as for raising the age to vote, I’m all for that. Even though now being 35 I’d generally still be in the voting age if it was raised I’ve supported the idea since high school.
I figure 25 or 30 would be good. It’s amazing the attitude adjustment I’ve seen with people after a few years out of school in the real world where they have to pay rent and taxes. All of a sudden their Marxist nonsense suddenly seems unfair for some reason.
Browncoatone on October 16, 2008 at 5:31 PM
My opinion on this one is it’s up to the people in charge. If you come into work high, or get high while on the clock, expect to be reprimanded and/or fired. That’s an employer’s prerogative. Same with driving – put the same rules, regulations, restrictions, and punishments on people getting high while driving as we do on people who get drunk while driving. And so on and so on…
Thoughts?

“The idgit vote”? Isn’t that what we call any vote cast for Obama?
RightWinged on October 16, 2008 at 5:32 PM
Real key it that its already so readily available, that if you want it you can get it.
Crap, I’m 49 and live in Suburban Denver… and I could go to TWO differnt houses on my little culdesac and pick up a Z if I wanted one.
I’ve had people come to work baked… whether it was legal or illegal…
Crap, legalize, and tax the heck out of it.
Romeo13 on October 16, 2008 at 5:40 PM
That’s the problem though, I’m unaware of any test that can indicate the degree of how high someone is. With alcohol, a simple blood test can closely confirm how drunk someone actually is.
Besides, I know a few people that would quit their job if it drug tested them, which of course then the company would outsource that job to India where they drink Bhang tea while they listen to you complain about how crappy their service is.
leetpriest on October 16, 2008 at 5:41 PM
How bout this. Give out free video games and players on Novermber 3rd to all the Us, comm. cols. and fast food cooks.

Ladies and gentleman, this video is your tax dollars at work. Public Education stinks.

By the way guys, sorry if I pushed this thread off-topic. That wasn’t the intent.
leetpriest on October 16, 2008 at 5:43 PM
Leftists control the education system, the media, the unions, and the entertainment industry – all of the possible inputs for our young people, other than their own self-sought knowledge and their families. So I should be depressed and retching, after seeing this demonstration of the stupidity of the average – or maybe the above average – Obama voter.
But I’m not.
Elizabeth Vargas is that charming.

Hey you elitist Jerseyman,
We are warming up the bus for you after we get it repaired for the Parker-Noonan-Brooks-Buckley trip yesterday.
:) just kidding
I happen to agree that people should at least have paid some taxes before they should be allowed to vote.
Sapwolf on October 16, 2008 at 6:09 PM
“If you don’t vote you’re a moron.”
The problem is that 50% + are morons. These people are freakin’ idiots. Roe v Wade about a white person and a black person? Let’s throw more money into the Education System, it seems to work so well. This is worse that Hannity’s Man on the Street. Scary stuff.

Bring back the Poll Tax!!!!!!
Tim Burton on October 16, 2008 at 6:14 PM
I wish we had the idgit vote, there is a lot of them. Judging from the current polls, about 54% of the country have some level of idgicy or other.
neuquenguy on October 16, 2008 at 6:15 PM
We can only pray that they do as young have done in the past. Register and then be too hung over, dope dazed, or just too lazy to vote.
Helloyawl on October 16, 2008 at 6:29 PM
I’m sure it is just a coincidence that a poll in today’s Investors Business Daily shows that 65% of 18-24 year olds are voting for Obama.
Star20 on October 16, 2008 at 6:46 PM
Dude, you must be one HUGE 23 year old!! :)

I would laugh at them if I didn’t think they would be voting and voting for you know who :/
aikidoka on October 16, 2008 at 7:03 PM
You know, like, why wouldn’t they vote for Hopenchange? I mean, you know, really, they were only, like, 10 – 14 when BushHitler was elected and like, their lives have been soooooooo awful under Bush. We like, need a new direction, you know?
heh.

Whomever the heck those rock stars are are pretty much admitting that they are signing up useful idiots.

CapedConservative on October 16, 2008 at 7:27 PM
Yes. Replace the current income tax and capital gains tax with a single Poll Tax. That would solve the voter fraud problem, the illegal aliens voting problem, the unfair taxation problem and poorly informed/educated voter problem.
Of course it’ll never happen short of revolution, but it’s a good idea to keep in mind for after the patriots overthrow the Obama dictatorship.

In 2000 Bush didn’t know the difference between Sunni and Shi’a, who ruled Pakistan, etc. The fact is most Mericans, liberal or conservative don’t know much about national or world facts.

There are a lot of people that should not be allowed to vote. Here in San Luis Obispo, you wouldn’t believe the ignorance. It just amazes me. Howard Stern is a trip. That was to funny. Can’t believe they though Palin was running with BO. I think I need to smoke some worm root now.
sheebe on October 16, 2008 at 9:24 PM
Actually, from what I remember from school, he’s right. The Electoral College was created so that the public would elect well informed electors who would then choose the president based on their superior knowledge.
I could probably look it up, but I think this changed about the same time Senators started being elected by popular vote instead of being appointed by state legislators.
(I think we should probably go back to that on the Senators. Make them ambassadors of the States to the federal government. Better yet, have them serve at the pleasure of the governors.)
Count to 10 on October 16, 2008 at 9:31 PM
I would like to see a return to the Constitution, which means the federal government stays out of all labor questions. This would mean that it would be up to the individual employer (within any individual state’s restrictions) to determine their policies regarding substances–they could hire and fire as they saw fit. Employers look at the bottom line, and people using substances (whether alcohol or other drugs) simply don’t produce the same as others, ergo, they are not as employable. The penalties for using substances would then, ultimately, be self-imposed, and individuals would have to choose accordingly.

Sure doesn’t say much for that whole hanging chad thing does it?
Speakup on October 16, 2008 at 10:58 PM
That’s the way Bush pronounces Americans.
Chimpy on October 17, 2008 at 12:48 AM
Maybe we should have a little quiz before voting. Just asking who the candidates are and a little about their positions. If you don’t know that much about the candidates you don’t know enough to cast an informed vote.
Of course, we can’t really do that, but I still can’t help thinking that if we did a lot less liberals would get elected.

This piece is another example that there is a big hole in our education system.
The eduction system is supposed to teach our children the basics (reading, writing, and arithmetic) in the early years of development. Then, as they mature, to learn how to think critically about what they read, how write logically and persuasively, then to develop new things using quantitative formulas.
But, no where do you find history and how to live in a civil society given their due. We all know that history repeats itself (if we let it) and the United States allows its citizen to speak their mind freely as long as it is done in a civil manner.
Thus, how many readers of this post can remember that before you could graduate from High School you had to pass a civics test? What? another test to graduate and it is about civics.
Yes, and it was meant to make sure that you knew what was necessary to function as an adult in a free society governed by people whose ideas represent our own and those of our neighborhood – thus the term representative form of governance.
When Leno and others do “man (PC person) on the street” interviews, during election cycles, clearly show civics needs to be reintroduced into the curriculum of our schools. We cannot afford to continue sending our youngsters out into the ‘real’ world, where they are brainwashed by groups who want to take advantage of the uneducated.
It is our parental duty to insure our children know what their rights really are, and to responsibly exercise those rights based on their own clear judgment – not the brainwashing they receive today from those who only want the power to make you bend to their will.
MSGTAS on October 17, 2008 at 10:59 AM
“There’s three weeks until election day. Maybe she’ll be up to speed by then.” Did he mean Sarah Palin? If you should be informed in order to vote, shouldn’t you be informed in order to run for office?
B26354 on October 17, 2008 at 11:11 AM
Aw, hell no. After all, Obama isn’t running for the VP slot!
..
What, you didn’t know? Weren’t you informed? Millions of Democrats voted him in as their Presidential nominee!
