Video: Conservatives have a fee-vah and the only prescription is more Joe the Plumber

posted at 12:00 pm on October 16, 2008 by Allahpundit
Share on Facebook | regular view

Four minutes from the impromptu presser outside his home this morning. It’s like “Meet John Doe” but without the newspaper columnist pulling the strings! If there was any doubt about his political affiliation before, listen to him on social security and Iraq and watch those doubts melt away. Can a cameo at a ‘Cuda rally be far off?

The highlight: One of the reporters trying to kookify him by pressing him on some sort of old association with the Natural Law Party. He’s middle class and conservative; there simply must be some extremism in there somewhere.

Update: Let the ritual humiliation by airing his dirty laundry begin.

Blowback

Anyone else want to see Joe Plumber debate David Brooks?

No. Just give little David one to the nose for joining the Marxist.

Joe the Plumber truly is Joe Sixpack and is the face of the upcoming Neo-Reagan Insurgency in the Republican party. Looks like it won’t be long before Noonan, Parker, Barnes and all the other elitist, paleorepubs scurry for refuge in Fortress Liberalism.

ManlyRash on October 16, 2008 at 12:51 PM

No. The GOP won’t be able to win without libertarians and Ron Paul Constitutionalists/Paleoconservatives supporting it.

MedSchoolCatholic on October 16, 2008 at 1:21 PM

So if McCain doesn’t win can we overthrow Obama and choose Joe the Plumber as our new leader?

Browncoatone on October 16, 2008 at 1:22 PM

And you are still wrong. But hey – enjoy yourself. McCain is going to win, Joe Sixpack is going to retake the Republican party from the elites and Sarah Palin is going to be the 45th president of the U.S. Perfect Trifecta.

ManlyRash on October 16, 2008 at 1:12 PM

Well, Playstation Inflammation, we shall see. I think McCain is going to lose in a historic landslide, Joe Sixpack still doesn’t care enough to run for office, only bitch about politicians, and Sarah Palin is going back to Alaska to finish her term and gain some much needed experience before coming back to run in 2016. The Republican Party needs to regroup and refocus before it becomes successful again.

Plumber Joe’s political affiliation is more important to the future of America then minor things like this:

Obama raised $1 million for foreign thug’s election
Democrat joined Libya’s Gadhafi among top contributors to Odinga

I’m not being sarcastic. Look, we’re probably going to lose this election because McCain is not a true conservative. Many of libertarians and Ron Paul Constitutionalists are voting for Obama. Those people are the so-called “Obamacans”. McCain is just a tool for the Norman Podhoretz neocons in this country; he doesn’t care about conservatism. If it weren’t for Sarah Palin, I wouldn’t even consider voting for McCain.

After this election, Palin better distance herself from McCain as quickly as possible if she wants to run in 2012.

You are really on to something here.

Obama is so light and hollow that all it took to rattle his campaign was this Joe guy simply standing up to him.

Axelrod is nervous still about this election, you can detect it. McCain has started his bounceback already on Rasmussen and people are starting now to get more info. on the Marxism of Obama.

The Left MUST destroy Joe because he is creating cracks in the juggernaut of Obamamania.

I’m gonna pray him today in hopes he can bravely face the attacks.

Obama is a thug like Odinga and these attacks are proving it.

I hope McCain wins, but, to be realistic, he probably won’t, and it’s because many of the small government conservatives have left the GOP.

By the way… If I were in a swing state, I’d vote for McCain, but since California (the state in which I reside) is going blue anyway, I’m voting for Bob Barr. And I hope others in non-battleground blue states do the same just to send the GOP a message: no more Bush-type “compassionate conservatives” anymore!

Joe the Plummer is my new hero! I love this guy. I love everything he said. What a great man!!

Basically Obama The Socialist wants to take Joe the Plummer of America’s money/profits that Joe America would’ve used to perhaps create more jobs or give out raises or bonuses to employees or create new products and services that would create even more jobs, raises, bonuses, etc….

Obama The Socialist wants to take that hunk of money and break it up into teeny weeny, itsy bitsy little bits so that more people can be in line for handouts.

John “I’m not Bush” McCain and Sarah Palin and Joe the Plummer are the hope and future of American exceptionalism.

Hey, lots of people have complications with their taxes. It doesn’t always mean they’re committing fraud. Most of the time it’s just bad record-keeping. Or taking too many dedictions (which is the red flag of choice for the T-Men). Now, if Joe were running for office (which he isn’t), this would actually matter, if only because he’d be entertaining the illusion that he could put one over on the public.

Like someone who really IS running for office that we all know.

Whoops, you’ve made errors, poor choices, whoopsies in your life so we (nose in the air) cannot learn from you and must destroy you. Can you imagine, if David from the Old Testament tried to voice his opinions today, what the headlines would be…”Religious Fanatic has Adultery and Conspiracy-to-Murder in his Past” “Jesus Resigns from House of David…Denies He Knew The Namesake’s Radical Past.”

Time to bring up Billy Dale. Never forget him.
He worked in the White House for three decades, under numerous presidents, and was always praised for his work…the problem is he was the “travel agent” for the president, and Clinton’s good buddy’s were travel agents. So they fired Billy Dale and put there good friends
Dale was charged with embezzlement, tax evasion, etc. typical Clinton garbage. Jury deliberated for less then 2 hours and came with an innocent verdict, with many jurors afterward questioning of how this could have even come to trial.
Dale was put through hell, just so a liberal friend could be taken care of.
Nothing new…

Grue, I think word passed from the Obama camp (or DU – but who can tell the difference?) that Joe actually is a plumber and doesn’t need a license. Of course, they’ve set their meme already, and simply changing it is their version of a retraction and apology, it seems.

Cool Joe the Plumber facts

mcg on October 16, 2008 at 3:49 PM

One of the reporters trying to kookify him by pressing him on some sort of old association with the Natural Law Party.

Transcendental Meditation isn’t Christianity, so the left can’t really blindly attack it.

MR, sorry to say it would require your medical records as well. =) – Sultry Beauty on October 16, 2008 at 3:26 PM

No problem there. Trouble is, if your pic does any justice, you can do much better and likely already have. But I do feel flattered that you responded.

ManlyRash on October 16, 2008 at 3:54 PM

Hey Obama!

If “spreading the wealth” is such a bloody great thing, why haven’t YOU done spread YOUR wealth around?

Why is you feel the need to spread MY wealth around and NOT YOURS?

drjohn on October 16, 2008 at 4:07 PM

Wow, the DU is really ripping Joe a new one, man this guy is really for real or ‘GOD bless his sole’ as he will need it with those nuts. The one’s I read use four letter words a lot, why? Oh, education, never mind.

MOVE OVER SARAH! Joe is the man who’s going to revitalize the Republican party and lead the nation in a new direction. It’s about time we had someone in DC who could speak to the American people like Joe.

Great ad.

I guess I have been in a vacuum all day. I wasnt’ aware of the extent of the Joe dust up until I heard Obama bashing Joe on the TV a little bit ago. I was in shock that Obama would be belittling “Joe the Plumber” in front of audiences with TV camera present. It did have a certain 7 year old tone to it.

Not surprisingly the left has moved from merely airing his dirty laundry to an even nastier tactic:

Never interrupt the enemy when he’s making a mistake–and the left is making a doozy of one here by assailing this man. They could, to an extent, going after Sarah Palin and her family by claiming that she is a politician and running for office, but this man isn’t. He’s a small businessman like so many of the rest of us working to support his family. Even more so than Palin, he will resonate with the great majority of Americans.

By attempting to bring this man down, by trying to silence him for daring to speak out, the left, the Democratic Party and the Obama campaign is giving the entire nation a chilling taste of what life in this country will be like under in an Obama/Democratic Party controlled government.

Soon it will be up to the American people–will the citizens of this country say “NO” to tyranny or will they walk meekly into the slaughterhouse and cease being citizen and willingly take on the role of subject?

Laura in Maryland on October 16, 2008 at 4:57 PM

How is it that a guy like Joe can articulate in a couple minutes what “pros” like McCain can’t express in months? Could a lifetime in Congress cause the end of thought?

Skipper50 on October 16, 2008 at 5:01 PM

This man does not even have a license.

In fact, there’s proof that he has never been licensed by the FCC to question Democrat policies in the media. This kind of abuse of the public airwaves is unacceptable during the Age of Obama and it must be dealt with harshly now before others also dare to speak without a license.

Surprisingly enough there’s Joe the Plumber merchandise at CafePress.com that shows support for Obama. At least one idiot on the left thinks the Joe the Plumber thing works in Obama’s favor.
