Video: Conservatives have a fee-vah and the only prescription is more Joe the Plumber

Four minutes from the impromptu presser outside his home this morning. It’s like “Meet John Doe” but without the newspaper columnist pulling the strings! If there was any doubt about his political affiliation before, listen to him on social security and Iraq and watch those doubts melt away. Can a cameo at a ‘Cuda rally be far off?
The highlight: One of the reporters trying to kookify him by pressing him on some sort of old association with the Natural Law Party. He’s middle class and conservative; there simply must be some extremism in there somewhere.
Update: Let the ritual humiliation by airing his dirty laundry begin.

I love my conservative buddies!
Sadly, I’ve got to hit the road–actually the seas–and I won’t be around for the next two days to read all the excellent commentary from my HA buddies. Will do my best to catch up on Saturday.
Sayonara ’til then!

The reason that he didn’t want to say that he’s a Repub is that he’s obviously disenchanted with the not-so-conservative Republican ‘leadership’.
Joe the plumber is my man. How long will it take for Team Obama to bring him down?

Wait until Joe gets his bailout bill in the mail…You’ve been hosed by both parties, Joe.

An Ace commenter was saying that during the liveblog last evening. An excellent idea and sounds like a winning ticket.

This is a very disturbing pattern, to me. Anyone who dares speak against these people is subject to this sort of treatment – and things like the “Kill him!” remark, a flat-out lie, gets repeated as though it were the gospel truth.
Everyone get a copy of “The Lives of Others” and have some folks over to watch it. That’s the world we’ll be living in if we don’t fight back.

Why not. IMO I think it would be a great move. Middle America taking back our own Government.
It doesn’t take a genius to run a Government… it takes someone who is able to run and think at the same time.

Here’s the problem…how is he going to make money? He will be forced to spend his time giving interviews, when he goes to work, a film crew will be following him. What business wants a film crew and journalist asking why they hired him. Then you have his life exposed by the crazy left…the HuffPo and dKos that are fans of Obama will go about to make his life deplorable. This will all help McCain, but ruin Joe the plumber.
Some nut is even stating Joe is the nephew of Keating…my God they are crazy.

I had an idea the other day and it was a minor epiphany about how lefties present their propaganda. I jotted down the phrase: ultra-liberal, race-baiting view master.
Ya’ll remember the old Viewmasters that used paper paper discs with photographic transparencies in them. Hold them up to the light and see the pretty pictures. The me-dia is doing a great job of showing the prettiest of pictures of B.O.
Now it’s time to bring out the scary discs. It will boost their ratings; it’s all about survival from now on.
Christine on October 16, 2008 at 12:38 PM
How is it that conservative always find the least noticed person on the block to put on top of the pedestal?
It’s not too far off from when we’ll be hearing, “Joe Sixpack, 2012!”
PresidenToor on October 16, 2008 at 12:40 PM
Actually, I’m a productive citizen who doesn’t suck off the teat of people who work and pay taxes – but we’ll be a dying breed pretty soon. That’s how socialism works, and that’s where we’re headed.
If you think this crap is going to improve people’s lives, you’re out of your mind.
capitalist piglet on October 16, 2008 at 12:40 PM
Nice Middle School bravado there. Here, let me try to answer Barry Norris on his terms:
True fact: Joe the Plumber got a certificate in laying pipe from Barry Norris’ mom.
pmm on October 16, 2008 at 12:40 PM
Get used to it. It’s part of the grand scheme to silence dissension. Silence opposing viewpoints. The left has taken very good notes from their heroes, the Soviets, and brushed up on the Orwell. Obama has been the most flagrant user of these methods with his “Truth Squads” and the willing accomplice – the MSM. This will get worse if Obama is elected, I’m afraid.
Brass Pair on October 16, 2008 at 12:43 PM
Good insight, but it’s not just the lefties, it’s anyone with an agenda – cherry pick your facts, frame your presentation, exclude that which does not help your cause. Lefties do it, Righties do it, the birds and the bees do it. We are all trying to f@#& each other.

He makes more sense than 562 people that make up the 3 branches of government.
Dr. Dog on October 16, 2008 at 12:48 PM
Don’t mean to take an offensive tone, but you apparently do not own, or have owned a small business.
Small business owners live week to week like most families, and can hardly take “two weeks” off, that is for their employees.
After the business is established, and his isn’t, then they can after a few years take some time off.
You don’t “buy a business”, and then have income…if so then everyone would be in business for themselves.
right2bright on October 16, 2008 at 12:48 PM
The RNC needs to get this guy on the payroll…NOW!
Scorched_Earth on October 16, 2008 at 12:48 PM
No, Sir Itchalot, it’s the unfortunate truth. It’s the core of politics and of propaganda – message control. You don’t control your message, you don’t survive. Basic.
trailboss on October 16, 2008 at 12:48 PM
This, in my opinion, makes him EVEN BETTER.
The simple fact that he doesn’t get taxed AND STILL DOESN’T SUPPORT TAXING THOSE RICHER THAN HE is the sheer embodiment of the conservative’s position on federal taxes. WOOHOO!

Indeed, pay attention boys and girls, this is your future. I hope Obama’s “Fairness Ministry” will put out a citizens’ approved speech manual, or something, so we average joe’s will know how stay of trouble. In the absence of one I will assume that anything other than “hail Dear Leader” will be risy.

neuquenguy on October 16, 2008 at 12:50 PM
Actually, it’s the same old “left,” which had cornered the market on identity politics and elitist snobbery.
Joe the Plumber truly is Joe Sixpack and is the face of the upcoming Neo-Reagan Insurgency in the Republican party. Looks like it won’t be long before Noonan, Parker, Barnes and all the other elitist, paleorepubs scurry for refuge in Fortress Liberalism.

Democrats despise average Americans, and this blinds them to the colossal tactical blunder they are about to commit. The blowback will be devastating.
ManlyRash on October 16, 2008 at 12:54 PM
You’ve got to admire Joe for being a real “stand-up guy” (as O’Reilly the Bloviator would say) and actually going to confront Obama and get their conversation on YouTube even though he had no intention of voting for him. How many other conservatives would simply ignore Obama when he came to town?
Obama told his supporters to “get in people’s faces”. This can work both ways–was Obama’s conversation with Joe the Plumber his “macaca moment”?
Steve Z on October 16, 2008 at 12:55 PM
That isn’t what you said. You falsely conflated Joe Sixpack with identity politics and then asserted that this is what the right is now practicing.

The viewmast analogy is close, but not quite. It is more like a Disney version of an old fairy tale. Hans Christian Anderson’s Little Mermaid had a sad ending and an important lesson to be learned.
Change-O Prest-O rewrite, add a soundtrack, and you have a whole new schtick: Hope and change will give you the man of your dreams and everything you ever wanted with the help of a little magic.
