The Dow lost more than 700 points again today. People are not happy.

If Bernacke can’t say something good I am beginning to wish he would just not say anything. He mentions recession and that sad little rally was a dim memory.

Is it just me, or does the stock market now always tank right after some new bailout plan is announced?

RNC ad: The Fannie Mae 3 Stooges? Obama, Dodd ...

This is a great ad, but all the electorate can seem to do is swoon for THE ONE and all the nanny state goodies he will provide.

I'm sorry but this ad, like all the others, isn't going to make a bit of difference. Why? Because what McCain desperately needs to accomplish is to 1) FOCUS the voters' attention with a 2) COMPLETE NARRATIVE of why Obama is so dangerous. And it can't be done with an ad here and an ad there. The American Right needs to finally accept that we are in a full-blown cultural war with the American Left. And we're losing...badly. Why? Because the Left is fighting to win and we're fighting to not lose.

They say that when you find yourself in a hole, the first step is to stop digging. Well, the American Right is in a media pit in this country...it's time we stop digging our on graves. Engaging with the Leftist-dominated MSM only lends it an air of legitimacy. When the US news media is abjectly hostile to the American Right, there is absolutely no benefit to be gained from engaging with it. What more evidence do we need than what we've seen in this election cycle, where the MSM 1) simply refuses to report info that will be harmful to Obama, 2) uses talking points that are clearly being distributed by the Obama campaign, and 3) report completely unsubstantiated slanders and rumors about McCain and Palin that are picked up from Leftist sites? This isn't some simple matter of "unconscious bias" or "spin"...this is PURPOSEFUL ACTIVITY that has the clear INTENTION and GOAL of getting Barack Obama elected.

The time has come for Republicans to disengage from the MSM completely (w/the exception of Fox News): no interviews, no questions answered, no debates...NOTHING. The Republican party needs to begin focusing on bypassing the MSM completely. Fox News would be the exception for on-air media, but the focus going forward has to be to begin using the internet for it's public relations and information efforts.

"But then we won't be able to get our message out at all?" Do any of you see that happening now? What's the point of trying to do the right thing (repeal CRA, regulate Fannie and Freddie, etc) when the MSM will simply lie through their collective teeth so that the general public doesn't know about it? And their disinformation campaigns become more and more egregious with each election. What's the upside of engaging with our mortal enemies on their turf and on their terms?

Right now, McCain needs to steal a page out of Obama's playbook: a 30-minute block of purchased television airtime that would allow McCain to put all of the disparate pieces together into a coherent NARRATIVE. And he should go down the list:

- teenage years spent under the tutelage of Frank Marshall Davis, life-long member of the Communist Party USA.
- college disciple of communist Saul Alinsky.
- Harvard entrance arranged by terrorist supporter Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Mansour.
- 20 years in the pews of Trinity listening to Wright say that the US created AIDS and that 9/11 was "America's chickens coming home to roost".
- 10 years working with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, eventually spending over $100 million in tax payer money on a bald-faced attempt at indocrtinating Chicago-area school children with Leftist ideology.
- his role as a "leadership trainer" for ACORN.
- the "fortuitious" disqualification of all of his opponents in his bid for the Illinois state senate.
- the "fortuitious" leaking of the divorce records of TWO of his opponents for the US Senate.
- his #2 ranking for political donations from Fannie and Freddie, coupled with the "advisor" status of Jim Johnson and Franklin Raines.

This would get the public's attention. This would get them to see the whole picture. And that's what it's going to take. Just like he did with the "Celebrity" ads, McCain needs to replace the MYTH with the STORY.

Count to 10:

A question on their “Trust” ad: wasn’t it a state office Obama was running for when he launched his campaign at Ayre’s house? Not the Senate?

That's correct. They say Obama launched his campaign for the "senate" in I think two places, and in one it sounds like they're saying he made his presidential announcement from Ayers' house. Instead, his coming out party at Ayers' was for the State Senate.

These are mostly great ads, but they need to correct that, or it will hurt their credibility.

The proxies could spend ten billion dollars runing a thousand good, effective ads every day, in every market, and it would have less actual effect than if McCain himself would drop his Senate Fraternity Brother approach to 0bama for just five minutes during the debate tonight.

I thought the ads on Johnson and Raines were a good idea too. This kind of thing can work a lot better than Wright the crazy preacher man.

The Dow lost more than 700 points again today. People are not happy.

If Bernacke can't say something good I am beginning to wish he would just not say anything. He mentions recession and that sad little rally was a dim memory.

We need to shut Wall Street down and close the exchanges. There is too much chaos in the market now and it's being manipulated.

We need to go nuclear with these ads and run them every 15 minutes around the clock till election day

ConservativePartyNow on October 15, 2008 at 2:18 PM

I agree. McCain or the RNC need to be running an ad like this in every battleground state. They've been letting the Democrats lie to the American people about how we got into this economic mess we're dealing with now. It was not caused by "deregulation," it was caused by idiotic Socialistic regulation (like the Community Reinvestment Act) that was pushed by Democrats, aided and abetted by race-hustling fraudster groups like ACORN and their attorney/trainer/partner-in-crime Obama. And when it became apparent that we were headed for disaster, it was once again Democrats who refused to regulate FM/FM and curb their abuses (and it was also Democrats who tried to stop the gov't auditors from exposing the massive fraud engaged in at FM/FM by other Democrats like Franklin Raines).

Why McCain and the rest of the Republicans are letting the Democrats hang this debacle around their neck is a mystery. But if McCain wants to win this election, he needs to get busy making clear to the public just what happened and why, and why even more disasters like this are going to happen if we put a big-taxing, big-spending Marxist (with a black radical chip on his shoulder) like Obama in the WH.

Reform starts here....Pump this ad nationally now and through November 4.

That way, McCain can at least claim leadership in identifying the problem "name names" and "make them famous".
