Jackson: “Zionists” will lose under Obama
posted at 8:50 am on October 15, 2008 by Ed Morrissey
Barack Obama may say that Israel has no better friend than himself, but Jesse Jackson begs to differ. Amir Taheri wrote in yesterday’s New York Post that Jackson hailed a new era in American foreign policy, where the “Zionists” would no longer control American action:
He promised “fundamental changes” in US foreign policy – saying America must “heal wounds” it has caused to other nations, revive its alliances and apologize for the “arrogance of the Bush administration.”
The most important change would occur in the Middle East, where “decades of putting Israel’s interests first” would end.
Jackson believes that, although “Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades” remain strong, they’ll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House.
This is the usual Jewish-cabal conspiracy-theory claptrap. America has always pursued its own interests in the Middle East. Not surprisingly, our interests have coincided with those of the only democratic nation in the area. We have allied with Israel because Israel is a reliable ally, not run by religious extremists and not funding terrorists, either officially or unofficially.
For some reason, Jackson sees this policy as undesirable. He wants us to repair our relations with Islamic countries, apparently at Israel’s expense. Does Obama see foreign policy through the same prism as Jackson? The campaign issued a statement in response to Jackson’s outburst:
“Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. is not an adviser to the Obama campaign and is therefore in no position to interpret or share Barack Obama’s views on Israel and foreign policy,” Obama national security spokeswoman Wendy Morigi said in a statement. “As he has made clear throughout his career and throughout this campaign, Barack Obama has a fundamental commitment to a strong U.S.-Israel relationship … As president, he will ensure that Israel can defend itself from every threat it faces, stand with Israel in its quest for a secure peace with its neighbors, and use all elements of American power to end Iran’s illicit nuclear program.”
Ooooo-kay. Certainly, we’d hope he would, but his record seems somewhat spotty on the whole strong-friend-to-Israel thing. Let’s recap:
- Jeremiah Wright — His pastor for 20 years and a man to whom Obama gave over $26,000 in 2006 alone, Wright has feted and honored Louis Farrakhan, a virulent anti-Semite. Wright also believes that the government created HIV as a genocidal tool aimed at people of color, and that America deserved what it got with 9/11. Wright has also reprinted Hamas propaganda in the church newsletter on several occasions.
- William Ayers — The former Weather Underground domestic terrorist employed Barack Obama at the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. Obama served with him on the board of the Woods Foundation, during which time both of them gave $75,000 to Rashid Khalidi, a Yasser Arafat toady.
- Robert Malley — One of Obama’s foreign policy advisers, Malley resigned from the campaign after reports that he met with Hamas surfaced earlier this year. Malley has a history of opposing Israel; in the Clinton efforts to achieve a peace settlement, he was the only American adviser to blame Israel when Arafat refused to accept 95% of what he’d demanded in the final settlement.
Maybe we could believe Obama when he says that an Obama administration would put our democratic allies ahead of the kleptocracies and worse in the Middle East if he hadn’t spent so much time with people who feel the opposite, and have acted on those feelings. His only actions on record have been to hire Malley and give money to Khalidi. What does that say about Obama that Jackson didn’t get right?

So will everybody in this country under a completely unqualified, laughingly unaccomplished, wholly corrupt, terrorist sympathizer like the absolutely worthless Barack Obama.
Why shouldn’t Zionists suffer along with the rest of us?

This makes no difference. The Jews voting for Obama stopped listening to reality a long time ago. Perhaps, it would be more honest to say that Jews I know voting for Obama stopped listening to me a long time ago on this issues. Still, I keep reminding them after we pray for Israel at the synagogue that perhaps those prayers should mean something to us.

Will this even matter to the Jewish people in say, FLorida? I doubt it. They have forgotten the horror of Hitler.
Just as we Americans have forgotten the horror of 9/11. Obama pals around with unrepentant terrorists. Do we even care?
We (Americans) just blindly do what ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, etc, tell us to do.
I want to believe that our country won’t be fooled… but I have my doubts.

Should Zionists suffer more under an Obamanation Administration, since they will probably give him three quarters of their votes in the upcoming election? As a Zionist, I hope that there won’t be any Obamanation Administration, but Obama has already made clear through Samantha Powers, former advisor, that Obama would hold weapons deliveries up for Israel as a pressure point to conclude an agreement with the pfakistinians, and would put in hundreds of thousands of US troops to separate Israel from the Pfakistinian territories, to assure Israel would not retaliate against pfakistinian terrorist activities.
Yeah, Obama gives us alot of confidence. His associations with Pflegar, Wright, Ramidi, Al Mansour, Edward Said, Ayres, Dohrn, Democrat Socialists of America, ACORN, all bode ill for freedom loving peoples in the USA and Israel.

An Obama regime will lead to new “friends.” There’s a reason His first reaction was to meet unconditionally with Iran leadership. Obviously, that can’t bode well for relations with Israel.

So what happens when Obama takes over and starts doing this crap? And make no mistake that it is more than likely that Obama will win in three weeks and he will attempt to do some of this stuff.
Will there be public outrage? Will Obama’s performance as Jimmy Carter’s second term be enough to kill off the Democrat party in the same way that McCain’s nomination killed off the party of Reagan? I think it will and 2012 will truly be the year of the independent voter.

Jackson’s words will be music to the ears of the self-hating Jews for Obama.
And if Obama wins, people are going to take Jackson seriously again, either simply because he’s a fellow African American, or, more worryingly, because Obama will put him in charge of some ‘outreach’ or ‘diversity’ project for poor black people, thus giving Jackson the opportunity to line his pockets and those of his cronies.

* we are FOR the Jews, but against the “zionists”

The notion that Jews may change their minds about voting for Obama if he’s seen as soft on support of Israel saddens me. We’re not talking about some generic Dem like Biden, we’re talking about Obama.
If American Jews couldn’t find ample reason not to support Obama before this, then they are a part of the larger problem. If they support Obama’s radical plans, but would abandon him if he abandons Israel, they are not Americans first.

God made Abraham a promise which is still in effect. He said He would bless those who bless Abraham’s nation and curse those who curse it. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob hasn’t changed. When BHO fails to support Israel, we’ll ALL suffer for it.
I can’t help but wonder why the MSM doesn’t go after Obama. There would be so many juicy stories. He’s surrounded by terrorists, crooks, racists, Marxists, and America haters. You mean to tell me that there are no stories there??? I know that the MSM are all lefties but a good reporter could make millions with these stories.
Mojave Mark on October 15, 2008 at 9:25 AM
The strategical problem here is that Obama’s camp has come up with only a few major lies (McCain is Bush part 3, Obama will “cut taxes” to 95% of Americans) and has drilled them home to their intentionally ignorant of the facts base.
On the other side, the buffet of scary Obama facts is overwhelming. Good grief, it’s hard to list: Wright, Rezko, Ayers, Socialist Party, not-really-writing Dreams of My Father (look that one up), ACORN, clinging to guns and religion, pro infanticide, campaigning on foreign soil, accepting illegal donations, fighting the Iraq surge and then denying its success…. and it goes on.)
Obama’s troubling facts are practically overwhelming, and no individual issue gets the traction it should. Scary stuff.

A while ago Fox&Friends carried a story that Jessie has issued a non-denial denial about having said that, accusing Tahiri of distortion (although, as I recall, not actually ever saying “I didn’t say it”).
Remember, Tahiri also broke the story a few weeks ago about Obama trying to subvert Iraqi-US planning and was promptly called a liar; subsequently two other independent sources have verified what he said, and other newspapers have carried it.
The question is: is this an intentional non-gaffe to injure Obama? (remember, Jackson said that he wanted to cut O’s nad’s off (or words to that effect) a month ago.

I remember my grandfather saying that when the Nazis took control of Germany many of his business associated told him to move out of the country. Some how these people knew what Hitler had in mind for them. My grandfather told many in his family no one believed him. He was smart enough to fallow the advice of his friends and left Germany before hell broke loose. Until the day he died he never understood the unholy alliance his people have with liberal democrats. He saw the Democratic Party going on the same directions as the national socialist party. I know some people working in the Obama campaign in NJ. Some how what J. Jackson said in France is not much different from the opinion of many in his campaign.

Nobody seems even remotely interested in the fact that Obama’s strongest international support comes from America’s and Israel’s sworn enemies.

Heres the thing, the term zionist is generally used by islamic people who are railing against Israel.
Zionism is related to the establishment of Israel as a nation and most Islamic nations do not recognize the legitimacy of Israel, hence they still use the term Zionist.
The fact that Jackson uses the term is only more disturbing in the sense that he is using it as a proxy for Obama. This only lends credence to the notion that Obama is somehow tied to many of these Islamic groups.
Or, if that is not true, he has started to pander to them.
Either one is too dangerous for the Presidency.

Dr. Dog on October 15, 2008 at 10:15 AM
Only one has a stable representative form of government. Iraq remains unstable, and will likely be that way for some time.
Just food for thought, if you look at the Quran, the preferred model is to integrate government and religion. (I do miss the Robert Spencer posts on Hot Air.)
I think the best example for this is Iran, which is really controlled by the Mullahs, but does have an elected president as figurehead. Pakistan is in theory somewhere on the democratically elected end of things, but look at how unstable it has been since Musharaff released martial rule and has left power.
All the others are Feudal or somewhere in the realm of a dictatorship.

As I posted before, Barack Obama recently said in the New York Times that Hamas and Hezbollah (both terrorist organizations) have “legitimate claims” but that they are being “weakened” by the violence they carry out. Based on this statement alone, if Obama becomes president he will strengthen Israel’s enemies by legitimizing the terrorist demands like NO OTHER AMERICAN PRESIDENT BEFORE HIM. The LORD said, “The land (of Israel) shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine, for ye are strangers and sojourners (temporary residents) with me” (Leviticus 25:23). You don’t negotiate GOD’s land with His enemies!! And you don’t strenghten His foe. I’m sorry to say, Mr. Bush made a HUGE ERROR being the first American president calling for a two-state solution. BIG MISTAKE. GOD defended Israel every time since they became a nation again in 1948. Against incredible odds too. Israel won ever war launched against them even though badly outnumbered. These were miracles! But, that’s what GOD promised to do. He promised no military defeat, “The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways” (Deuteronomy 28:7). So why would any our leaders carve up GOD’S land and give it away! There’s a curse upon nations for doing that. They are playing with fire.
