Debate: Live chat and open thread

Tonight we have the final presidential debate for the 2008 cycle, and if you’re in the Twin Cities area, we have some party ready for you!  AM1280 The Patriot will host a debate party at Trocadero’s in Minneapolis tonight.  The Northern Alliance Radio Network will emcee an evening of fun and politics, including my radio partner Mitch Berg, Power Line, SCSU Scholars, and Fraters Libertas.  We’ll have free appetizers and a cash bar. The debate goes from 8pm CST to 9:30pm CST and doors will open around 7:30pm. Admission is free – but please RSVP at the handy AM1280 RSVP Page so we can plan accordingly.

You won’t miss anything at Hot Air, either, if you’re not able to make it to the party.  We’ll have a live chat room running during the debate, with Jazz Shaw and Lady Logician moderating a cast of thousands — literally!  Since the live streaming has interfered with the operation of the blog for some Hot Air readers, we’ll skip that and stick with the chat room.

I’ll also make a post-debate appearance on the Hugh Hewitt show at 10:30 CT to discuss the night’s events and their implication for the election. And yes, I shamelessly recycled the first two paragraphs of this post from my pre-debate analysis.  I’m all about efficiency, baby!

I could literally write a book about our experiences earlier this year, buying and selling a house at the same time. What a nightmare…

Isn’t PIP great? Debate on top, Phillies vs Dodgers below.

When Obama says he wants to spread the wealth, he means bend over and spread the cheeks. Because he wants to screw all of us.

HornetSting on October 15, 2008 at 8:47 PM

Hmmmmm. You think he snaked Obama’s pipes later on? Just askin….

ManlyRash on October 15, 2008 at 8:42 PM

I dunno, but he seemed kind of flustered…he was flushed, his eyelashes were rapidly fluttering and he seemed at a loss for the words to describe what he was feeling…could it be that he was distracted by the thought of the plumber’s turgid manhood?

Y-not on October 15, 2008 at 8:47 PM

Yeah, we have the same problem. Sis in law thinks Palin is stupid and McCain is creepy. I said “MCCAIN is creepy?” Dude.

jewells45 on October 15, 2008 at 8:24 PM

Yup — McCain is indeed creepy. He’s got that strange posture, like someone stomped on him. He doesn’t move his upper body much. He moves his arms like the Hulk or something.

I have no idea what’s wrong with the dude…he looks *old* ;-)

Obama on the other hand, is *young*, hip, carefree, flexible, loves to do pickup basketball games wearing a Marines t-shirt… he’s an almost serviceman, except that he answered the higher calling. He gives the impression that any stentorian could be President — yessiree, the President for the Rest of Us.

unclesmrgol on October 15, 2008 at 8:48 PM

HornetSting on October 15, 2008 at 8:51 PM

McCain:

At some point, confront Obama on Acorn; warn American, otherwise, the sentiment represented here is gone forever.

http://www.rockwellsite.com/prints/viewimages.asp?ART=00000004

At some other point, shame Obama for his, his surrogates’, and his supporters’ shameless conduct. Tell he that they need to meet the folks represented here because what they’ve hurled at McCain and Palin is a disgrace and far beyond mere hardball politics.

HornetSting on October 15, 2008 at 8:49 PM

I am not kidding, but I know the honor of his injuries. I was merely commenting on why jewells45’s sis-in-law might find McCain “creepy”. It’s the same reason FDR refused to be photographed in a wheelchair. McCain can’t hide what the North Vietnamese did to him, but he has surmounted it — overcome it — to the best of his ability, and his opponent has mocked even that. But we Americans are such shallow people, and I fear we will show that shallowness fully on Nov 4.
