Debate: Live chat and open thread

Tonight we have the final presidential debate for the 2008 cycle, and if you’re in the Twin Cities area, we have some party ready for you! AM1280 The Patriot will host a debate party at Trocadero’s in Minneapolis tonight. The Northern Alliance Radio Network will emcee an evening of fun and politics, including my radio partner Mitch Berg, Power Line, SCSU Scholars, and Fraters Libertas. We’ll have free appetizers and a cash bar. The debate goes from 8pm CST to 9:30pm CST and doors will open around 7:30pm. Admission is free – but please RSVP at the handy AM1280 RSVP Page so we can plan accordingly.
You won’t miss anything at Hot Air, either, if you’re not able to make it to the party. We’ll have a live chat room running during the debate, with Jazz Shaw and Lady Logician moderating a cast of thousands — literally! Since the live streaming has interfered with the operation of the blog for some Hot Air readers, we’ll skip that and stick with the chat room.
I’ll also make a post-debate appearance on the Hugh Hewitt show at 10:30 CT to discuss the night’s events and their implication for the election. And yes, I shamelessly recycled the first two paragraphs of this post from my pre-debate analysis. I’m all about efficiency, baby!

I think McCain did well. It wasn’t nearly as well as he needed it to go though. I didn’t expect a knockout or a home run, but I was hoping for better from McCain.
One point that I think McCain lost on – taxes. He had to, he had to debunk Obama’s tax plan with respect to the 95%. He didn’t do it.
His best debate yet though.

What a surprise, Juan Williams gives it to Obama. No tears this time, though.
Obama’s one of those speakers who can go on and on, and you’re left not knowing what he’s actually said; that is, if you haven’t been influenced by the whole “messiah” thing.

ManlyRash on October 15, 2008 at 10:38 PM
All O had to do is just lay back on the oars and coast…which is exactly what he did (and given the intense mental retardation of the (now) average american voter, and those who think for them, the MSM) probably means a big win for him…At least McCain fought back on this one, though. I have to give him credit…and also note that at least someone on his staff may even read this site…finally! So I hope I totally get it wrong…and McCain can squeak through or do some of that MoJo he did to Romney during the primary…I am such an optimist that I hate myself…
