Oddly enough, he thinks The One plus a filibuster-proof Democratic Congress could mean serious redistribution. Get this man on the phone with Christopher Buckley, stat.
Exit question: Has Team McCain put this guy in an ad yet or are we now relying on Neil Cavuto to do the heavy lifting?

If Bob Schieffer is doing his homework, this would be a nice debate question for the Messiah. If McCain is doing his homework, this deserves a nice mention. Not holding my breath.

McCain is too busy. Sleeping.
Or whatever he’s doing. I have no idea anymore.
This is the 3rd most awesome thing to happen to McCain just this month. Could he please !@$%!@# capitalize, once?

if we lose this, we lost it when obama won the primary. i think the american people simply refuse to believe that the democrats could have nominated a radical america-hating marxist, i mean it does defy belief, ergo any claims of that nature about him must be republican smears.
please, let’s make card check an issue. i think that could resonate better than all this other stuff. yes, obama is a marxist, i know it, you know it, but americans simply refuse to believe it could be possible, so we’re wasting our time with this, I think. i’m probably wrong, though!

Well said Joe. Maybe you should consider politics instead. Its a lot dirtier than plumbing but you seem like you could handle it. And good point about the American Dream which is basically what you stated. Work hard and you achieve, that’s America.
But under socialism, which is what Obama represents, the government will decided all paths for you. And of course only those who lend full support to the establishment will be chosen for the path of plenty.

Don’t you sometimes wonder if ‘the other side’ wanted McCain because they knew he didn’t have it in him to fight? It seems as if Frank Davis and Bill Ayers have been grooming Obama since high school for this.
You’re correct, how many balls is McCain going to let go past him before he decides to swing?

Does Obama think he’s convincing us of the failure of a flat tax with this scary number?
When I add up all the taxes I’m paying now; fed, state, local, property, school, sales, I think I’m already giving up 40% of my income. With Obama running the show, I guess we’ll just fork over everything we earn.
Vote Obama. Get Forked Over.

To the plumber, one of my favorite professional jokes – a doctor calls a plumber to fix his pool. $900 later/per hour, he tells the plumber “I never get this much per hour and I’m a doctor”. The plumber “I didn’t either, when I was a doctor”.

And because the “rich” give more charitable contributions (except for Greasy Joe), the more taxing that Obama does, the less they will have to give to charities. And we all know that charities do the bulk of the humanitarian work in our communities.
If McCain understood economics, he pounce on this stuff. As it is he has to rely on others to point it out to him.
csdeven on October 14, 2008 at 9:17 PM
It seems to me he is saying “small business creates jobs” (say that in a Tina Fey accent and see how stupid it sounds), but he’s going to tax small business and give that money to the people on the bottom so the people on the bottom can afford to hire the small business.
It’s his bottom up model, as opposed to thinking the small business creates jobs that pay people, so that people who have jobs can afford to pay for goods and services.
MayBee on October 14, 2008 at 9:17 PM
I love you! (in the platonic sense) Too many of us are complaining about what will happen if Obama is elected. We need to just go with the flow and get ours. The sooner the country hits rock bottom, the sooner we can get back to having real conservatives running.
csdeven on October 14, 2008 at 9:20 PM
I third the motion for the Plumber and demand he is made Secretary of the Treasury! I think he would be far better than Paulson and anyone McCain would pick, other than Romney.
Is it not just wonderful to see normal Americans being truly American! This made me believe not all Americans need to be boxed up and air dropped into some socialistic country in order to understand why this country is so great.
freeus on October 14, 2008 at 9:20 PM
Right after this event, Obarfy fired a staffer or two for letting Mr. Plumber get close enough to ask a question in front of the cameras.

Obama’s plan doesn’t encourage growth or create sustainable wealth. He takes money from the plumber and gives it to his customers. They in turn give it back to the plumber. The government in turn takes it from the plumber and gives it back to his customers. It’s a vicious cycle that never ends.

Don’t know the guy – but I like the guy.
Why?
Cuz standing side by side with an average American small business owner, Obama looks like the nancy-boy elitist we all know him to be.
I honestly don’t think Obama gets this country. I really don’t. And it is exhibited here.
BTW – what’s been left out of the video is Obama’s long-winded attempt to sell this guy on his Presidency. And if you actually see the whole converation – the impression you’re left with is a short discussion between a DOER and a TALKER.
And the plumber ain’t the talker.

It’s like cutting a foot off one end of a rope and tying it to the other end to make it longer. Every time you do this the rope gets shorter.
None of this is worth talking about… no one’s getting a tax cut. Clinton promised the same thing in 1992 and we all know how that turned out.
The deficit was a record $455 billion for 2008 (the fiscal years ends Sept 30). 2009 is projected to be over $700B.
There’s not going to be any money for much of any thing Barry’s promising.
Chuck Schick on October 14, 2008 at 9:33 PM
All my kids are grown. One in Iraq (comes home Nov 11) and one headed to the North Arabian Gulf in January. The other two are living in town. I taught them to be self sustaining and internally motivated. Also, I taught them to be pragmatic and not complain about that which they cannot change. If the situation arises (God forbid!) and they are in position to legally take advantage of Obama’s spread the wealth programs, I will encourage them to do so and instead of living high on the hog, they should scrimp and save so that when the opportunity presents itself, they are in a position to take advantage of it.
This is the best way to defeat Obama’s socialism. Instead of putting every dime into more consumption (which he thinks people will do), you save it for the day that you are able to create wealth for yourself by taking advantage of others misfortunes.
csdeven on October 14, 2008 at 9:33 PM

csdeven on October 14, 2008 at 9:35 PM
I love liberals like Obama. ” I just love the middle class….just don’t ask me to actually meet any of them.”
I’m conviced that most of these people really are clueless about our modern economy and how much of it is driven by small businesses. Obama’s unscripted answer betrays his inaccurate view of where jobs come from.
But this really is classic “progressive” economic theory. Left wing economists really believe that putting a few more bucks in the pockets of lots of people making $40,000 a year will drive enough consumer spending and demand to create more jobs. I guess we are about to find out if they are right.

Using this election cycle as a point of reference, we Republicans re-elect them through fear of living in a socialist state.
I suppose the Democrats do the same through fear of having Republicans putting a stop to their socialist agenda.
So to answer your question, it is out of fear. Republicans fear the end of America as we know it. Democrats fear the end of America will not come soon enough.

Some one help me with a cartoon, I can’t draw….
Scene opens with a boy chopping wood and a bunch of other boys just watching…
The boy finishes the arduous task and the man who hired the boy pays him 10 bucks.
The other boys stand up and start to follow the boy who was just paid; asking him what he is going to do with the money. The boy says he wants to buy a new ax.
Observing from distance, a man from Chicago over hears one of the boys wishing he had some money. He says to himself as he ducks into a nearby port-a-potty, “This is a job for Obamaman!”
The boy who received the ten dollars for his hard work is accosted by a tall masked man with a giant “O” on his chest. “Stop, in the name of fairness!” Obamaman shouts. Obamaman grabs the ten dollars from the boy and hands him one dollar giving the rest of the money to the other boys.
“This is what is fair.” Obammaman says. Now they have a chance to be successful too.
Obammaman runs away, yelling “Tax tax and away.”
end.
