McCain: Fight

A mid-afternoon pep talk. As with (almost) all things McCain, the boss is underwhelmed.
Update: Hmmm: “This is NOT McCain’s closing speech. McCain advisers say they’re saving their best material for the last ten days of the race, when, the campaign hopes, three quarters of the remaining undecided voters will make up their minds, and their minds will be concentrating on Barack Obama.”

Torn on this. If it works, it could be a last-lap burst for the finish line and send Yosimite Sam screaming into victory. If it flops, we blow a tire on the last turn.

IF McCain were a real Conservative he would have a real message and wouldn’t be floundering so badly. His problem is and always has been that he has no core beliefs so he is perpetually incoherent. It’s hard to express that which you don’t believe or comprehend.

As Obama has in fact requested, say this to his face next Wednesday at the debate! But not only that! Tell the country about how Obama sued and trained thugs to bully banks to force them to make risky loans, and how ACORN expanded the strategy to Fannie and Freddie, leading to the current crisis. Tell the country how YOU tried to regulate Fannie and Freddie in 2005, and that DEMOCRATS (not the liberals) in Congress blocked it. Tell the country about the only thing Obama has ever led, the Annenberg Challenge that spent $160 million on education for zero improvement. Tell the country that such a man cannot be trusted with a $3 trillion budget. Tell the country that you’re tired of hearing about Obama’s cutting taxes for 95% of the population when only 55% even PAY taxes, and that YOUR plan will save taxpayers even MORE money than his. Tell the country that they can’t afford a President who condones infanticide. Tell the country that Obama is LIAR and a FRAUD with the incompetence of Jimmy Carter and the ruthlessness of Al Capone.
Then let Sarah measure the drapes!

WTF is YOUR problem. You need to work for the Obama campaign….shouting down anyone that does not agree with you.
No, we were not deluded. When the “conservatives”, aka, NH crossover voters delivered us “Operation Non-conservative” and gave McCain a chance, we knew it would be hard. He does not represent us, but we will fight for him.
All we ask is that HE FIGHT for us and our way of life.
And if he wins, then we will have to fight him on amnesty, global warming, cap and trade, and all the other bullshit he is spouting.
HornetSting on October 13, 2008 at 3:26 PM
My advice to Mccain
Take on a more threating tone(if they can threaten riots if obama loses so can we).
He should say
If this election is stolen from us I will not walkover and shake hands and forgive and forget. The country is to important and to many lives have been lost over that last 250 years so we can live as free people under the rule of law. I would advise Obama and the sycophant media to tread very lightly these last weeks of the campaign. etc
He should say this at the debate as opening statement

McCain did not trust 75% of Republicans and 61% of Democrats on the subject of amnesty/rewards. Only 22% of Rep. and 36% of Dem. trusted McCain on his thrice-defeated immigration bill. He was untrusting enough to bring it up THREE TIMES in two years!

Krugman surprises with Nobel win for economics

LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) — Against the backdrop of global financial turmoil and the highly charged U.S. presidential election, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences tapped into both issues with its surprise decision Monday to award a Nobel prize in economics to Paul Krugman, a Princeton University scholar and vocal critic of conservative policies.
Django on October 13, 2008 at 3:29 PM
The Nobel Prize has become a total joke. It’s nothing but a cudgel for left-wing eurotrash to beat the US with.
Django on October 13, 2008 at 3:30 PM
Are you really surprised?
tickleddragon on October 13, 2008 at 3:30 PM
This.
I’ll vote for McCain, MacLeod, or more accurately I’ll vote for the real conservative Palin and the old guy they shackled her to, because I know how much trouble we’ll be in under an Obama Administration. But I have from day one and still now and through the rest of the election reserve the right to grumble at least a bit when McCain does something questionable.
And what exactly about what I said was wrong? I was simply observing that I don’t know how this is going to turn out, it could be really good or really bad. What the hell about that was worth that verbal (or more accurately textual) beating?

Ugh. Tequila is for Mexicans who run out of Corona and bat p!ss.
I posted the following in another thread:
It isn’t hope or thinking positively…I just know. I can’t explain how or why I know, I just know. As the events unfold each day, there is a little part of me that says “Yup…just as I figured,” as if it were some kind of deja vu.
McCain is going to win this election. I’m more certain now than ever before – and the fact that I am neither overjoyed nor relieved at the prospect of his victory, convinces me even more that I am right.
For what it’s worth, my late mother used to dream of things would later come to pass. I don’t claim to have her sight, but sometimes I get a sense for these things. I’m not a big believer in ESP or clairvoyance and the doubts I have regarding these phenomena often cause me to second-guess these thoughts. Not anymore, not this time.
McCain is going to win.
ManlyRash on October 13, 2008 at 3:32 PM
I’m going to bite the bullet and vote for him. But what it is, exactly, that McCain will be fighting for? “Comprehensive” immigration reform?” Campaign “finance reform?” “Global warming” legislation?
I saw where some blogger asked, “If he won, what would McCain do in his first 100 days?” And I thought, hell if I know. Does anybody know? Does McCain know?
Not that it matters. The man’s going down. I just hope he doesn’t taint Sarah Palin with a landslide defeat.

If you refuse to bring up Rev. Wright you are not fighting.
If you diminish attacks regarding Ayers, but repeatedly saying “I don’t care about some washed up terrorist” you are not fighting.
If people at your rallies tell you they are afraid of having a Obama as president and you tell them they don’t have to be afraid and then go on about what a great family man he is (how does he know that btw?) then you are not fighting.
If you are on a stage with Obama for 2 hours and you don’t bring up any of his radical associations you are not fighting.
After watching the hell Palin and her family has gone through it really pisses me off to hear this guy give a lecture on fighting.

Step away from the crack pipe.
I am voting AGAINST Obama which means I have to vote for McCain who fights much better against real conservatives than he does liberal democrats and Palin who gets some crowds excited but we all know deep down that she isnt qualified to be POTUS and, frankly, I dont believe she will ever be a presidential candidate that will win the presidency for republicans in 2012 or any time after.
It takes more than winking, being cute, saying doggone it, and being a social conservative. That IS enough for the Huckabots…but not enough to win any elections outside of Alaska or the South (like Arkansas).
Its an IQ thang.

I was at the rally this morning, and the finale was a repeat of his finale from the convention albeit without quite the same amount of emotion. Not that I don’t like it, I thought the rising crescendo of that was the highlight of the entire week. Stand up, Stand up and Fight should have been his rallying cry, and I was hoping it would take off all by itself – it has that rally feel to it, and it appeals to our American nature. Alas, it was forgotten, lost in the cheers. I think if he keeps this up, and keeps effectively contrasting his policies and positions the next three weeks, and let’s his Veep play attack dog, he’ll get there.

If Obama wins:
Civil War-
One group that will be benefitting from Obama’s socialist policies…free homes, food, amnesty for illegal aliens…..as he takes your guns and insults the United States as a bad country.
The other group, resisting and breaking away will be those that pay their bills and practice personal responsibility, fight illegal immigration, cherish the second amendment, and love the United States of America.

Where are all the 527s? Let’s face it, the SBVT may well have won the election for Bush in ‘04. They can attack with impunity and McCain can protest but to no effect.
Wright, Ayers, ACORN, Alinsky, missing college and law school transcripts, missing medical records, admitted cocaine use (after all, they still have a tingle up their legs about Bush), missing thesis, Raines, Johnson, Bawney Fwank, Pelosi, Reid…the list goes on, an embarrassment of riches for ammunition.
If this election is lost it will be due to a failure of wills. McCain will be complicit in Vietnam redux–where the loss is caused not by a failure of men and machines but by political cowardice. And I’m afraid that we will be screwed metaphorically like Cambodia was in the aftermath.

But I felt why change my party? I know who I am and what I stand for. I just worry about our Country. I am not real old, but far from being young. Lost many cousins in Viet Nam. Well, since Mav is down about where he was before he made that genius choice of picking the ONE republican governor that knows LESS than he does about the economy, I would say that your point is rather silly.
Pick a Veep who knows nothing about the economy and cant articulate a single economic point (much like Mav) just before the credit markets freeze up putting the country in serious danger. Genius.
