Bottom line: Obama is bad for the economy, bad for education . . . He has a record.

Imagine that someone gave you a large bucket of five million colored balls. Each ball has three out of five possible colors – red, white, green, yellow, and blue – and you’re told that exactly half of the balls have some green but no yellow, and the other half have yellow but no green. Your job is to estimate the percentage of balls that have some blue and the percentage that have some red.

To do it you rely on statistical sampling theory: stir the bucket to ensure that the balls are randomly distributed, and then draw and count a sample of 400 balls.

After the count you know you have 165 red balls and 192 blue ones and so your first estimate is that 41% of the balls in bucket have some red while 48% have some blue on them.

Great, except that your count also shows that 180 have green marks and 220 have yellow. Since a perfect sample should have had 200 of each, you adjust your results to conform – dividing 165 by 0.9 (=180/200) and 192 by 1.1 (= 220/200) to report an estimate of 45% for red balls and only 43% for blues.

The closer the real population percentage gets to 50%, the more impact small differences in the sample weightings will have – and so the more effect even a 2% change in the expected proportion of registered democrats in the sample will have on the reported numbers.

ACORN, in other words, directly sets up for voter fraud during the election, and indirectly skews that election by tilting public opinion polls to boost democrats.

It’s too bad Mao, Marx, Lenin and Stalin are dead. I’m sure he’d sit down with them unconditionally.

I don’t see much evidence that we’re losing. I went to a rally in Johnstown — the middle of Murtha’s district — yesterday. There were between 6 and 7 thousand Republicans there, and in Murtha’s district, only between 20 and 30 Obamatrons showed up. The polls are vastly oversampling Democrats, when the %age of Dems, GOP, and Indies who actually show up and vote on election day have remained remarkably stable over the last thirty years. Reweight even the worst of the polls, and we’re either tied, or leading. Also, much of Obama’s support is the ever-elusive youth vote. Is it possible that they’ll show up in droves to vote? Sure, but then, we’ve been hearing how that youth vote was going to change America since the 1972 election, and they’ve never materialized yet. So you’ll forgive my skepticism.

Want further evidence? Obama is still spending massive amounts of money on ads in states he should be able to take for granted. That, and his attacks on McCain and Palin, don’t look to me like a man whose internal polls tell him he’ll win the election, but the reverse.

The next time you’re tempted to moan, or whine, or complain about McCain or the election, head to headquarters and spend a few hours on the phones or walking the neighborhoods.

I’m starting and email and calling campaign to get this to some media. I will not stop trying to get out the Hyposcrisy.
