Video: John Fund versus ACORN

An almost total waste, thanks to Camerota letting Joe Isuzu here shout down Fund every time he opens his mouth. Wash the taste out afterwards by watching the CNN clip Ed posted yesterday.
The Times has finally touched this story, but naturally they’re less interested in the details of registration fraud than the horserace angle.
Meanwhile, in Ohio, a federal appeals court decides that the current registration verification are good enough as is, thanks very much.
Update: Ace has got a fee-vah and the only prescription is more Scott Levenson!

ACORN has destroyed the integrity of our election system, and this organization is tied to (funded by) the Democrat Party and Barack Obama.
Americans are pissed off beyond comprehension, as we are watching the total collapse of our financial markets at the hands of our politicians (90% Democrats), and the total collapse of our free election system.
Prosecutions are either going to take place, with the guilty people getting locked up, while NONE of them are above the law (politicians included), or it’s obvious that our democracy has failed.
While pundits are busy talking about stupid polling data, the real story is being ignored.

This ACORN twerp specializes in not letting anyone else talk and holding a sickeningly stupid smirk that just annoys to no end.
Fox needs to start exercising mic-volume control on these sorts of people who think that they can stave off answering questions by off-topic filibustering through the time slots. I expect to see this twerp show up next and do nothing but read pages from a novel until the interview is over.
progressoverpeace on October 11, 2008 at 1:05 PM
I was watching this this morning and it disgusted me. That bottom feeder from ACORN would interrupt and attempt to sidetrack Fund every time Fund was about to make a point. This was a foreshadow of the thug tactics we’ll see in Dear Leader’s administration.

This is a link to a 2001 ACORN contact list. It shows ACORN as affiliated with the Illinois New Party and Project Vote. Scroll down to see that ACORN shared Chicago offices with the New Party and Local 880 (SIEU). In New York City and in Little Rock they also shared an office with Project Vote.

So a court decides it’s better to have a fraud-riddled election run by a blatant partisan (who is aided by an organization that routinely violates federal law) than to take reasonable steps to guarantee some measure of honesty?
This is the brave new world of Osama Obama, folks.
In four years we won’t even need elections….

RACIST! DANGEROUS INCITER!
Biden already told us that criticism of The One is dangerous incitement, and he’s a “constitutional scholar,” right? So if people really step aside and refuse to vote for McCain/Palin, I would expect to see some kind of criminalization of political speech in and Obama administration.
funky chicken on October 11, 2008 at 1:13 PM

I also have to thank all those folks from back in 2000 who swooned for GW Bush and told us all what a staunch conservative he was. Yeah, I’m looking at YOU National Review magazine.
It’s just bizarre to watch these people who have adored Bush for so many years suddenly go absolutely insane against Palin. And their reasons are laughable—she doesn’t read the great philosophers (but GW Bush does? er) and she talks with a funny accent (um, rly?) and ..and..

Camerota needs to tighten up the ship. If she cannot handle moderation better, she should have that task relegated to someone else. Fund essentially became a prop while the ACORN spokesman filibustered and Camerota read questions.
Very unprofessional.

How ACORN tools debate:
As soon as the opposition is about to nail you to the wall with hard, cold, facts, you interrupt them or mutter:
STTT, STTTT, STTTT, STTT, STTT while they’re talking.
Mention the facts about ACORN’S Orwellian attempt to exempt themselves from the very minimum wage laws they militantly advocate for everyone else?:
You reply: Shame on You!
Buy Danish on October 11, 2008 at 1:23 PM
One of Bush’s biggest mistakes in his two terms was his failure to clean house at DOJ when he first took office.
The ACORN fraud is not a new thing, and 7+ years should have been plenty of time to take effective steps to rein in this thuggish group. RICO and its provisions could and should have been used to dismantle this criminal enterprise and pursue the puppeteers behind it who would (and may) steal this election or throw the results into doubt and the country into chaos.

That has to be the worst example of an interview I have ever heard.
Camoratta is the worst moderator.
TheSitRep on October 11, 2008 at 1:24 PM
Well, look on the bright side (not that there is one) Watergate only started during the election… there wasn’t enough evidence to impeach until mid-term. The public and the press turned against Nixon when the facts finally came out.
Hopefully, there will be some in the media who will realize what they are doing to democracy and will allow the truths about Obama’s many corruptions to penetrate.
Truth doesn’t always win. But sometimes it does. Bush hate is fueling the media’s worship right now. But when he actually has power at least some of them have to come to their senses!
I think the media is mad at themselves for not investigating the build up to war before hand and they are over compensating now. But in truth they are doing the exact thing as before and at some point they might see the error of their ways.
When the veil of the Bush administration is peeled away they will be able to see more clearly. Hopefully, it will not be too late to keep Obama in check. But there isn’t going to be a great deal of money to put in his “change”. And not much appetite for it either.

This tool’s tactics are right out of the Alinsky playbook: Appear reasonable, emphasize the positive goal you allege you’re trying to achieve, refuse to allow the opposing side to make its points, talk over them, make rude noises. When all else fails, go on the personal attack: “You seem to have real problems, John – what are your problems with ACORN?”
This POS is either a classic Alinsky agitator, or a $cientologist. Not much difference between the 2 when it comes to shutting down opponents.
Lurking Vet on October 11, 2008 at 1:40 PM
No, this is not usual activity. ACORN has been operating for a few decades, and they’re usually awfully shady, but this year they seem to be on steroids and truly out of control.
What you need to understand is that the hard left in American genuinely, wholeheartedly believes that the 2000 and 2004 elections were stolen by fraud. They have no evidence, it’s a demented conspiracy theory that’s not even plausible, but that’s what they believe. This year, they’re determined not to let the election be “stolen again” — and to ensure that, they’re going to steal it themselves. Thus we have the delusional performing deliberately, in real life, what they was done to them in their imaginations.
By the way, the current flurry of investigations that lead you to “smell an overcooked election,” proves that the previous claims of fraud were delusional. You can’t commit widespread fraud without leaving a trail. It’s immediately obvious to the casual observer what’s going on. If armies of machine-riggers were rigging Ohio’s voting machines in 2004 (which is what the loons claim) there would have been people talking about it, people caught in the act, people complaining about all sorts of irregularities. There were not; there were only the loons screaming about what they were imagining.

Thats they way ACORN works. The upper management is white and the lower ranks are minorities. In fact the managers are all appointed to the feild all come “recomended” democratic party connections. The Unions and liberal groups send up and comers to groups like ACORN to get feild experience. There is no rising up the ranks in ACORN its a caste system there.

Richard Romano on October 11, 2008 at 1:54 PM
Here is an example of the community organizer-Liberal activist-Democratic party triangle that exists
Teresa Heintz and other democrats back foundations like “Tides”. Tides gets money and recruits to send to groups like ACORN. ACORN turns around and gives feild experience to Democratic operatives and elects Democrats to office.
They all support and sustain each other.

What you say makes perfect sense to me. I would further add that the fury directed by the Dems about the outcomes of the 2000 and 2004 elections is that they were sure that they had padded the voting rolls with enough ACORN-enlisted voters to sway the election in their favor. When they miscalculated, their cry was, “We was robbed!” Dems accuse their opponents in the very acts which they themselves have honed to a science.

Agreed. We are the laughing stock of Iraq and Third World democratic countries.
