Video: The RNC’s got a fee-vah and the only prescription is more Ayers

From David Frum’s lips to the ad team’s ears. Maybe I’m just Ayers-ed out, but between this and McCain insisting that the real problem isn’t Obama associating with a piece-of-shinola terrorist so much as lying about it, I’m not sure what the crux of the complaint is anymore. Is it that The One is a dangerous socialist radical masquerading as a run-of-the-mill Chicago machine politician? Or is it that he is a run-of-the-mill Chicago machine politician with all the graft and cretinous hangers-on pertaining thereto? Or is it just that he’s a liar?
Speaking of which, the latest from Obama on Ayers: “I assumed that he had been rehabilitated.” Really? Even after the NYT interview published on 9/11 in which he said he was sorry he hadn’t done more as a Weatherman? That’s highly nuanced indeed, given that they were still in touch three years later.
Exit question: Are you really a “Fmr. Terrorist” if you’ve never repented?

Even if it’s completely empty and bogus.
So it’s impossible to agree with what he says on its own merits. Well, I suppose you gave yourself that screen name for a reason…

God I just saw Begala and some other stooge on Larry King and whenever Ayers was mentioned, they’d just laugh and shrug it off, “it happened when he was 8!” Then the other woman brought up G. Gordon Liddy and the fact that he held a fundraiser for McCain.

Of course he does.

Allah, I think you are totally Ayers-ed out. ;-)
It’s the fact that Obama has no problem working with an unrepentant terrorist.
It’s the fact that Obama has provided inconsistent answers about the relationship.
It’s the fact that this is just one of many questionable relationships that a presidential should not have on his record.
When in our history have we had a presidential candidate (leading in the polls no less) who has had so many shady/undesirable relationships?

Jim,
Barack Obama has earned the respect of every one who believes that it is the governments responsibility to provide our every whim……..it’s called socialism, backed the marxist principals and grounded in the liberal mentality that Bill Ayers is a hero along with Hugo, the Nutjob, et all.
This nation could not be so split down the middle between these two ideologys. One suffers the sickness of communism and the other hangs on by a thread to the capitalist system that for 200+ years has been the lifeblood of our system.
Choose your poison folks…
Rovin on October 9, 2008 at 10:08 PM
McCain’s only chance now is to go after democrats. Go after them for Fannie and Freddie. Go after them for ACORN. Go after them for CARE. Go after Frank. Go after Pelosi. Go after Dodd. Go after Reid. The reason that Obama is so far ahead is that it is a democrat year. Obama is almost untouchable, but the stool he is standing on is not. Don’t shoot at him, shoot at the stool he is standing on. Even if it’s not enough to get McCain elected, it should help lessen Republican loses in Congress.

With the Dow below 9000, the various states in the middle of voter fraud investigations already, racism charges being flung at the drop of a hat, the government on the verge of socializing our banking system, health care on the list to be next, 105% voter registration in some districts, Fannie and Freddie and AIG and Wachovia, the Russian Bear getting restless, Pakistan hovering between anarchy and Talebanization and total disintegration, Afghanistan slipping backwards, Venezuela pulling our beard at every opportunity, Europe feckless, …… what could possibly go wrong?

Thanks HornetSting. The huge joke is that a year ago I was sending back any fundraising solicitations I got from the RNC and (how the hell I got on his list…) McCain empty with “GET YOUR MONEY FROM VICENTE FOX” written in all caps across the form!
McCain was not my man.
But I urge anybody actually considering sitting this one out to reflect upon the Blackhawk Down incident. RINO war hero defeated because a lot of the base defected. CiC who didn’t understand the military greatly expands mission for troops on the ground but refuses to send them the heavy armor they beg for.
Quite predictable consequences.

Me too.
The illegal immigration issue soured me on McCain, because my husband fights so hard against it.
I still send envelopes back with notes that they need to say no to amnesty.
But, there is a bigger picture here. McCain has the tools and the will for us to win in Iraq/Afghanistan.
We will just have to fight him on the issues. I have faith that the American people will wake up and vote him into office.
HornetSting on October 9, 2008 at 10:24 PM
If “W” had cleaned house at Justice when he first took office, this ACORN madness could and should have been avoided. Too bad and too late now, but the public really needs to be educated about ACORN and the threat to our system it represents (and Obama’s ties to the corrupt bastards.)

To answer your earlier question about what Rush Limbaugh has or hasn’t done, he’s constructed a media empire that effectively became the heart of the right-wing talk radio movement, is easily credited for making Fox News possible, and is perhaps one of the most central and crucial figures of the conservative movement today.
Conservative movement. Not republican. Keep it straight. McCain is not a conservative. The fact that he has chosen Palin as his running mate has not changed the fact that he’s pro-amnesty, pro-CFR, anti-Gitmo and drinking the global warming kool-aid. So sorry if Rush isn’t towing the party line, but if you hadn’t noticed, many on sites like these have a great deal of animosity for McCain. He’s echoing our sentiments.
So whining about him throwing around names (which I notice you have twice attributed to the wrong people and don’t seem to give a damn about what an ass you’ve made yourself look like in doing so) while tossing around the ol’ “RINO” tag is nothing new. It was McCain tactics when he was floundering pre-Palin. You really want to go back to that? It didn’t win any supporters then, and it’s going to work even less now.
The only pathetic human beings on this board consist of two groups: idiot liberal trolls like philnewkirk and crr6, and McCain worshippers who throw tantrums when their only shield against the Obama terror does not have his boots licked. Get the picture, folks: Those of us that are supporting McCain are doing so primarily because of Palin, not because of McCain. Those of us that would have voted for him if he hadn’t chosen Palin would only have done so because it took someone as bad as Obama to make us even consider him. In the dictionary under RINO, the definitions are John McCain and Lindsey Graham.

My arguments are purely political, and are not intended to denigrate the service of your husband, nor the sacrifices you have made on his behalf. To insinuate otherwise is incorrect.
However, to label me as an Obamite troll is a bit over the top. My disagreement is on McCain’s ability to wage an effective campaign. Certainly you can agree that “our” candidate needs a slap across the face, strategically speaking?

Blake on October 9, 2008 at 10:39 PM
Why not all of the above? But, unfortunately, McCain is fumbling this issue away by failing to understand its real strength. His stupidity continues to astound me. He’s really down to his last chance, and he’s screwing it up.
These people get it but aren’t getting at the economic part of the issue. Ads about Ayers are welcomed by McCain current supporters, and they might inform some independents. But at this late date, the appeal must be directed to the middle 20%, who, for reasons beyond me, have been drifting to Obama. And they’re willing to accept Obama’s casual dismissals. Appeals against what Ayers represents, alone, are going to be viewed as childish mudslinging.
What McCain needs to emphasize is that Obama’s role on these Ayers’s boards is his only executive experience. In that capacity, Obama and Ayers collaborated to steer $161 million to radical, politically oriented groups for programs that did nothing to improve Chicago schools. It’s a disgraceful use of money that wasn’t his own.
Think about it. As the economy tanks, to elect a guy who would waste grant money and charitable contributions to pursue a vision that he shared with Ayers defies comprehension. If informed, are voters really going to elect a guy who will rubber stamp everything that Frank, Dodd, and other Fannie-Freddie enablers put before him and also pursue things like the Global Poverty Act ($845 million to the UN blackhole over 10 years)? When people think of school improvement, they envision school supplies, capital improvements, tutoring, music programs–in short, academic-related improvements. Instead, Obama and Ayers distributed money to third parties to teach students and parents how to be community organizers. Voters will see that as an unconscionable waste of resources.
C’mon, people. Get smart about the use of this Ayers development. Tie it to Obama’s wastefulness and his intent to pursue a costly, ill-advised agenda.
It makes me sick that McCain is blowing his last shot.

What led the Weathermen to violent action—and given the chance, would they do it again? What’s sad is that Obama probably doesn’t even know what Bill Ayers needs to be “rehabilitated” from. Just like many have no idea what Islamists need to be rehabilitated from.
It’s not the violence. Violence is just a by-product of war, and that’s the real problem with them: they’re at war with Americ
They’re at war with the American way of life: with the sanctity of innocent human life, with freedom, with the right to personal property, with small government, with the right to self-defense, the right to speak your mind, and to live according to conscience. With the free market. With personal responsibility. With truthfulness. With an exclusive and exceptional culture of freedom tempered by justice.
Everything we love about America…. they hate. Bill Ayers’ mind has never been rehabilitated. As Yuri Bezmenov would say, “His demoralization is complete and irreversible.” No matter how he might reject violence and become “mainstream”, his mind will still see a US Marine giving his life to protect even those who hate him as being more villainous than Saddam Hussein and his rape rooms.
His mind is as sick as it ever was, and Obama can’t recognize it because his is the same.
That’s what I’d like America to finally realize.
