Video mashup: Chris Matthews as Wile E. Coyote

The folks at Eyeblast have a hilarious video tracing the history of Chris Matthews’ adoration of Barack Obama over the past four years. They use clips from an old Road Runner cartoon to demonstrate the amount of thrill running up Matthews’ leg:
Actually, I’m surprised by the length and breadth of the Matthews sell-out. I have long since stopped watching him, so I hadn’t seen some of this footage before now. “I’m not supposed to sell” is a phrase that should embarrass journalists throughout NBC. Most times, reporters don’t have to explain that to their audience, but with Matthews and his gushing coverage of Obama, it must serve as a helpful reminder.
Update: Video should be fixed now. If not, you can go to Eyeblast here.

How embarrassing for MSNBC…

Matthews, Sully and Obama should just get a hotel room and get it over with.
Cody1991 on October 8, 2008 at 1:00 PM
Anyone see the video, or am I the only one busted?
Abby Adams on October 8, 2008 at 1:02 PM

Son, I say son, that thrill wasn’t running up your leg, it was running down, and it wasn’t a thrill.
Sasnak on October 8, 2008 at 1:05 PM
He makes me want to grab him by his tie and just bitch slap his face from side to side.
budaside on October 8, 2008 at 1:06 PM
Anyone think Matthews will be, along with Olbermann, the only reporters (okay, Helen Thomas) in an Obama White House pool? Think they’d ever let anyone in there who would ask The One a question that might make him sweat?
Vanceone on October 8, 2008 at 1:07 PM
Still my most favorite cartoon series of all time.

Got it…

Chrissy did the same thing for Bill Clinton.
After Clinton had his heart surgery and came out to campaign for Kerry, Matthews said, “LOOK AT HIM!”

Long since stopped watching him?
How about never watched him once?
What do I care what Tip O’Neill’s former catamite has to say? Might as well log onto the DNC web site and eliminate the middle man.

All the information I have given you and you have learned nothing.

Good wine of rhetoric?
What a maroon!
That was hilarious! Makes you want to get a 100 lb sledghammer from Acme of Walla Walla Washington and smack Chrissy in the kisser…

That’s the attitude of main-stream-media in general.

Notice that it’s “the speaches” and the “rhetoric” that so moves the libs. Vince Lombardi could give a hell of a speach too, but I wouldn’t call him qualified to run the USA.
marklmail on October 8, 2008 at 1:21 PM
P.S. I’d love Hannity to ask Mathews “name three things that Obama has accomplished that qualifies Obama to be President”
marklmail on October 8, 2008 at 1:22 PM
There are three classes of intellects: one which comprehends by itself; another which appreciates what others comprehend; and a third which neither comprehends by itself nor by the showing of others; the first is the most excellent, the second is good, and the third is useless.

MB4 on October 8, 2008 at 1:25 PM
I don’t care who you are. that’s funny.
Matthews critics will absolutely, positively, never let him forget about this.

Oops – no video here, either.
I dug the video link out of the page source, plugged it in raw, and got “Service not available”

For some reason I couldn’t view the video in IE or Firefox, just a blank space, where the video should be. I was able to view it in Safari. But usually I can view everything in Firefox, which is my primary browser.

That was a good video.
Refresh the page if it’s blank.

That was great, sending the link far and wide! I’m very happy that I could watch Looney Tunes and the Stooges when I was a kid.

Sounds like Chrissy wants to get a room with Oslime-a.
csdeven on October 8, 2008 at 1:48 PM
Nah, they are too pale. If Obama wins, lots of his white liberal supporters will find themselves in the trash heap, no longer needed. Idiots.
Y-not on October 8, 2008 at 1:50 PM
Has anyone noticed on “Hardball” lately (I mean the one or two others who may have watched a portion of this show) that the backdrop set now usually consists of being outdoors (or at least indoors with a window) with screaming obnoxious Obama supporters carrying “Obama” signs constantly in the background? Yesterday this show tried it’s best to be considered anything but comedy with Matthews conducting an interview with an official Barack Obama sign as big as a billboard behind him “in the crowd” front and center.
Know what this says to me? It says his ratings are stinko even after months and months of what the above clip shows (blatant cheerleading) – and now this “look for your friends behind me in the crowd!” stunt is the last gasp.
Marcus on October 8, 2008 at 1:50 PM
Matthews apparently has the interest and stamina to perform fellatio every single night of the week for his candidate and not care who knows or what they think.
It is almost like a pavlovian response.
I’m surprised he hasn’t thrown a hip out or something already.
moxie_neanderthal on October 8, 2008 at 1:52 PM
The One better ratchet up his Secret Service protection before Chrissy molests him.
cyclown on October 8, 2008 at 1:54 PM
Does the drooler realize that 99% of what ObaMao speaks is written for him by someone else?
Has he ever heard of David Axelrod?
ObaMao has enough trouble reading a teleprompter.
roninacreage on October 8, 2008 at 1:55 PM
I’m still hoping that somehow, somewhere, someone will come up with a clip of Matthews breaking into tears on the air immediately following Al Gore’s concession speech in 2000. . .
Wind Rider on October 8, 2008 at 2:00 PM
any red-blooded American man would get a thrill up his leg listening/seeing Palin.
very revealing “Chrissy” gets the thrill up his leg over Obama.
mountainmanbob on October 8, 2008 at 2:04 PM
They should have ended it with Porky Pig dubbed over by Obama, “I-i-i-uh-uh-i-i-uh-uh-uh”

I will not be robbed of the pleasure of seeing this in 2008. If I personally have to light a fire under McCain’s backside, as God is my witness, I will not be robbed of this pleasure! (cue “Gone With The Wind” music)
Marcus on October 8, 2008 at 2:24 PM
I see your point Ed, but I disagree with one thing:
Matthews is neither a reporter or a journalist. He is a commentator. He gives opinion. He is no different than Bill O’Reilly or Sean Hannity.
thePajamaPundit on October 8, 2008 at 2:53 PM
I say… I say… Boy!
You’re ’bout as sharp as a bowling ball.
FlatFoot on October 8, 2008 at 2:54 PM
Matthews has always been a Democrat. During the Clinton years he seemed to get upset with their corruption. With 2000, he returned to straight Democrat spin & has been there ever since. He was an aide to Peanut brain Carter & the Boston pig Speaker of the House who save Barney F-g.

Be vewy, vewy, quiet…I’m hunting wabbits.
…that’s my Barney Frank impersonation.
Hey, did Mathews grab Ellen Degenerate’s breast in that dance scene?
