That would make me a lifelong bigot, as I have always had an absolute in tolerance for anything that is not right and proper.

I’ve always like Harold Ford Jr. If the rest of the Democrat Party were more like the DLC, the country would be a lot better off.

I’ve got to think the DLC and the Blue Dogs realize their own situation is going to be pretty complicated the next few years. Quite a tightrope they’re on.

Al From will no doubt rush to embrace Obama as a New Democrat, since he does that to anyone popular anyway, no matter their brand of Democrat politics.

All McCain has to do is meet the charge of racism straight-forwardly and be on the offense about it. And he needs to do it without the anger that the baseless charge automatically brings. (That’s why it’s so effective.)

Something like: “Is that going to be your response every time you or one of your policies is criticized? Because you know and I know that crying ‘racism’ about everything is merely a handy tactic to deflect criticism.” Then Mc Cain can flash that little evil white man grin of his. ;-)

Seriously, he needs to man-up about this. The Race Card is going to be played anyway, so why not use it to make Obama look too weak to be president?

Once again, baldilocks, you have gotten to the crux of the matter succinctly. It is offensive to me to see the questioning of a candidate’s past associations conflated with racism, but it is a given in this election, so why not make the most of it? Highlight the deflection, and then hammer home the obvious dishonesty and weakness inherent in this tactic and question what about his past makes the Dem’s so defensive.

Why are African Americans not considered racists when they overwhelmingly vote over 95% for Obama?

They vote 90% Democrat anyway. So at most you can say 5% of blacks are voting solely based on race.

One, Dems in my area are on this “one heart beat away” kick and that MCcain wont live through a term due to his age and him coming over frail etc.

Two, I am thinking as time goes on Obama is losing ground, but is he losing it fast enough? Things like voter fraud are scary to normal caring folks, but the blood suckers of the country don’t give a damn and are just sorry they got caught, and while waving a white flag on it with one hand, are cracking the seal on another box of fake ballots with the other.

I am not seeing enough on the networks. The liberal media is locking down on conservative coverage just becasue they are in the position to do it. The undecided and independents are the key here and I’m sure its obvious we need to be doing more to gain votes there. As I say, time is of the essence.

It’s nothing new, really — the race card has been driving our educational, social and economic policies for years, twisting and mutating civil rights to achieve the ultimate goal of income redistribution. The terms “poor” and “low-income” have become euphemisms for minorities. The left uses them to push their agenda, making sure they stay poor, angry, militant and blameful of everyone but themselves. And the right capitulates, shrinking from the threat of being labeled “racist.”

And now it’s brought us to the brink of economic disaster, since the absurd idea that “poor people” are entitled to buy houses they can’t afford metastasized to wholesale greed, irresponsibility and outright theft from DC to Wall Street to Main Street. But no one, except perhaps Palin, briefly, dares to mention the idea of “personal responsibility” among buyers.

A whole lot of people need to “man up,” and find some political courage, Baldilocks, before there’s any improvement — until then, it looks like we’ll be passing through some very painful times, with a very dim light at the end of the tunnel.

It occurs to me that all this accusing could make racism popular again. If we all get accused when not guilty why should we even try to be fair when there is true unfairness? I don’t think this strategy gets them what they think it does.

The dirty little secret is he is not black, but arab. Why do so few know of this fact?

Because it’s false.

The fact that people are so quick to use the Race Card proves they have no legitimate reply to the criticism. The more they squeal, the closer to home it gets.

Everybody knew the racism card was going to be played the minute he won the nomination. They knew it, and we knew it. I don’t think anyone on either side is surprised.
