Open thread: McCain and Palin on “Hannity & Colmes”

posted at 8:35 pm on October 8, 2008 by Allahpundit

9 p.m. ET on FNC, as always. Maverick himself reportedly goes after Obama on Ayers “with gusto,” so look out for that, as well as for the obligatory Fannie/Freddie fingerpointing. Asked for his reaction to the Ayers stuff tonight on ABC, The One invited McCain to say it to his face at the next debate. If he doesn’t, will Obama raise the subject himself to affect a little fightin’-nutroots-brand faux indignation, or is it simply too toxic a topic for him to broach in whatever context? The answer, as always: Depends on how the polls look next week.

While we wait, a sneak preview from the show in which McCain follows Cindy’s right hook this afternoon with a couple of jabs.

From the vote fraud thread:

Today’s unsolicited advice for McCain. Courtesy of me.

McCain. Look, your campaign is floundering. Let me offer you some tips to win this thing.

Here’s your outline for a major policy speech. Sooner rather than later. Lay it all on the table:

We are in an economic crisis.

Americans cannot trust Wall Street
Americans cannot trust Congress
Americans cannot trust Washington

I’ll fix this problem. It will be the top order of business once I’m elected.

First, I’ll fix Wall Street – greed. Whatever

Second, our corrupt politicians caused this problem.

Today I’m asking for Frank, Dodd, Rangel to step down and resign their seats in Congress
I’m going to appoint Guiliani to look into and prosecute any congressman who showed a conflict of interest in dealing with FMFM and other companies.
I’m going to enact legistlation to make sure this never happens again. I’ll stop subprime loans, the cause of this situation.

Third, Americans cannot trust Washington.

Once elected, I’m going to pass a law that says no lobbyist can donate to politicians. (or something like that)
All earmarks will be made public and forced to be voted from on the floor. Not added by committees
I’m going to push for a law saying that a bill can only come to a floor on a single topic. No more “oil drilling legistlation tied together with pork barrel spending or gifts for pig farmers.” One topic. One vote.

Finally. We’ve had a recent spate of activist groups fraudulently registering people to vote. In Indianapolis 105% of the people are now registered to vote. If we cannot trust the results of our democracy, we will not have one much longer. I will enact legislation to ensure that everyone only gets 1 vote, that their vote counts – including troops overseas. This can be done through picture ID, which can be given to each citizen at no charge if they do not already have such identification.

Can you do it? There’s your outline. Just helping Palin for 2012, jerk off. Don’t think I give a rat’s ass about you.

- Come on, kid. Get in there. Engage.
- You’ve got a bogey at two o’clock.

Take the shot, kid.

You can engage any time, Maverick.

- Where the hell are you going?
- It doesn’t look good.

What do you mean? It doesn’t get
to look any better than that.

Hey, man. We could have had him…

I’ll fire when I’m goddamn
good and ready. You got that?

- He won’t engage.
- It’s only been a few days.

- He just might not make it back.
- Keep sending him up.

Raila Odinga’s Obama protection squad in Kenya just happens to be doing what the Dems do here every time a book they fear is released. Total random blacklisting coincidence.

Or, maybe we now see what Obama will do with his global political capital if he’s elected. You won’t even be able to go to another country to evade the Obama truth squads.

D0WNT0WN on October 8, 2008 at 8:39 PM

There is a time and a place for everything. For whatever reason, the McCain campaign didn’t get super confrontational last night. I think they knew that the Axelrod MSM was poised to spill gallons of ink on stories about how “erratic” and “angry” McCain is….so he came in calm, earnest, and with a couple of specific points that he wanted to deliver.

Again, I was upset last night…but reading the democrat reaction to the debate, I think they may have done the right thing.

I sincerely hope you’re right. I just keep thinking of two names. 1) Bob Dole. McCain is campaigning like him more and more. 2) Franklin Roosevelt. The media are going to create the perception of a giant mandate for their “historical” candidate. This is much bigger than McCain and his notions of some gentlemanly campaign. This is about whether or not American Exceptionalism will still be alive in ten years.

Wasn’t the goal of the Weather Underground bombing campaign to trigger a revolution/overthrow of the govt?

I was looking for the narrative of how Obama’s ideology is theirs, and how his election means the “terrorists win.” Guess they don’t want to go there, so it’s half a narrative.

ordi on October 8, 2008 at 9:06 PM

Say it to his face John and when he pulls his 40 years ago and I was 8 bullshit, bitch slap him on national TV with this.

When you sat on that couch having your political career launched by unrepentant domestic terrorists it was only 14 years before when his underlings held up a Brinks Truck and later killed several people. Tell him what happened at the truck to the guards:

“Paige was hit multiple times and killed instantly. Trombino was able to fire a single shot from his handgun, but was soon struck in the shoulder and arm by several rounds, nearly severing his arm from his body. The criminals then took $1.6 million in cash, got back in their van, and fled the scene.
Trombino survived his injuries and continued to work for the Brink’s company for the rest of his life. He was killed in the September 11 Attacks in 2001 at age 68.[1]

THEN TELL HIM THIS AFTER THE POLICE CHECKED A UHAUL

“The police officers who caught them testified that Boudin, feigning innocence, pleaded with them to put down their guns and convinced them to drop their guard; Boudin said she remained silent, that the officers relaxed spontaneously. After the police did lower their weapons, six of the men in the back of the truck, who were armed with automatic weapons and body armor, surprised the four police officers by emerging and opening fire. Officer Brown was hit repeatedly by rifle rounds and collapsed on the ground. One robber then walked up to his prone body and fired several more shots into him with a 9mm handgun, ensuring his death. Keenan was shot in the leg, but managed to duck behind a tree and return fire.

Officer O’Grady lived long enough to empty his revolver, but as he reloaded, he was shot several times with an M16. Ninety minutes later, he died on a hospital operating table. Meanwhile Lennon, who was in his cruiser when the shootout began, tried to exit out the front passenger door, but O’Grady’s body was wedged up against the door. He watched as the suspects jumped back into the U-Haul and sped directly towards him. Lennon fired his shotgun several times at the speeding truck as it collided with his police car.

The occupants of the U-Haul scattered, some climbing into the yellow Honda, others carjacking a nearby motorist while Boudin attempted to flee on foot. An off-duty corrections officer apprehended her shortly after the shoot out. When she was arrested, Boudin gave her name as Barbara Edson.

there’s even more here

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brinks_robbery_(1981)

All these people were friends Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. They knew them so well that they raised Boudin’s son who was probably in the house when Obama launched his political career. Everyone in Chicago knew these events concerning this couple. SO DID OBAMA………

then tell him he is not even fit to be in the Senate…..
