Exit question: Are they really going to have Fred Armisen play Obama for the next four years? All he does in the Obama sketches is sit there, look sphinx-ish, and preface everything he says with The One’s clipped, “Well…”

Why not? That all there is.

Plus if they give Armisen any funny lines, they might risk hoardes of community activists charging through the studio…

In a way I’m glad the line was scrubbed. If it said ‘and many democrats’ well that would be accurate and would really be subject to scrubbing. By deleting the inaccurate many republicans line, SNL has tamed the bias more than in the original sketch.
