Video: Palin nails heckler at rally

The moment comes at the end of this Fox News report, when an anti-war protester tries to disrupt her speech. The SarahCuda doesn’t get mad, but she shuts him down using her Absolute Moral AuthorityTM:
Palin doesn’t get flustered or sidetracked, either. She shows poise and command at the podium, which emphasizes the mistake Team McCain made in keeping her in a bit of a media bubble after the convention. Palin can handle herself when she’s allowed to be herself.

This was awesome. Have you ever seen anyone handle that so well?
changer1701 on October 7, 2008 at 10:32 AM
Good to see one of these loudmouthed, know-nothing, anti-American pinko jackasses slapped down so hard, they’ll starve to death rolling.
NoDonkey on October 7, 2008 at 10:32 AM
She handled that question on the AP “you’re a racist report!” question as well.
lodge on October 7, 2008 at 10:33 AM
Bless her heart, THAT is the way to handle a heckler!
I bet it doesn’t get airplay beyond Fox News.
ScoopPC11 on October 7, 2008 at 10:33 AM
I kept hoping SS would allow Medea Benjamin or that other tool to rush Sarah at the convention. The woman can field dress a moose. I suspect she would make short work of both of them. Thereafter removing any threat of further rushings…
Sue on October 7, 2008 at 10:34 AM
I so love this woman
titus_pullo on October 7, 2008 at 10:34 AM
Get her on the talk show circuit and morning shows….NOW.
Dr.Cwac.Cwac on October 7, 2008 at 10:34 AM
She looks stronger to me every time I see her speak. AC/DC “Thunderstruck” is the PERFECT song for her.
JustTruth101 on October 7, 2008 at 10:34 AM
Dana Milbank, with an assist from Jake Tapper, is trying to create a meme that Palin is creating a dangerous atmosphere with her recent attacks.
Forget hecklers like this guy, apparently the guy that yelled out “terrorist!” yesterday is her fault.
MayBee on October 7, 2008 at 10:34 AM
Would that she “nailed” this creep like she nails moose…
Spanglemaker on October 7, 2008 at 10:34 AM
Um…I’m with her until she addresses the heckler. Most dems don’t support our troops enough (or at all). But no one is in Iraq fighting for First Amendment Rights….
Terrorists want to kill us, not enslave us (take away our rights). I guess you can argue that a dead man can’t speak, but that’s a bit simplistic.
We shouldn’t be cheering this.
Trent1289 on October 7, 2008 at 10:34 AM
“Bless your heart” Southerners know that we can say anything we want about someone as long as we qualify with “Bless their heart.” As in “That is the ugliest man I have ever seen, bless his heart.” :) Guess Alaskans know this too.
Renae on October 7, 2008 at 10:35 AM
Won’t hear that if you heckle Obama!

Well, AQ does want worldwide sharia law, so you can make the case that whilst attacking AQI, troops are defending our constitution.
lodge on October 7, 2008 at 10:37 AM
She’s making the point that everyone has protected speech under the First Amendment. I would clip this together with news reports of the BTS (Barry Truth Squad) and how Teh One wants to crush free political speech.

My hometown baby! Ft. Myers rules!
ballz2wallz on October 7, 2008 at 10:38 AM
She has the “stones” that John McCain lacks.
And there lies the problem.
McCain is a too used to “crossing the aisle”
Victory means the other side has to be defeated.
End of story.
Well done Gov. Palin – well done.
jake-the-goose on October 7, 2008 at 10:38 AM
I wonder what The Alaskan One said about the heckler that said “kill him!” when she was talking about Obama.

She should have engaged him a little more with her debating skillz. It would have shown him to be the “O”-tool that this guy is.

stlpatriot on October 7, 2008 at 10:39 AM
The McCain campaign has got to bring up astroturfing to the public spotlight… when they’re asked to comment on these things just say “How do you know it isn’t someone hired by Axelrod to manipulate the media?” bring it up… Axelrod’s public record for astroturfing should be reported on before the election…

Actually, it’s kill or convert. You could also become a dhimmi. The overall goal of the radicalized Muslim is to establish the caliphate around the world where all are living under shari’a law.

The look on her face after she took that sucker down was like the look of someone who just swatted a fly with a dictionary. It was damn near effortless for her.
If McCain’s campaign has any cunning whatsoever, they’ll put her up front for the next month. Cut the Gibson and Couric crap. This woman can handle anything you throw at her, as long as it’s unedited.
MadisonConservative on October 7, 2008 at 10:49 AM
Very good point. It is high time that we stop trying to get along with the Liberal Dems and the RINOs, the time is NOW to expose and DEFEAT these people because all they seek is their own power at the expense of the country and our freedom.

It’s all of a piece, Trent. Although they subvert our speech freedom and (dangerously and absurdly exaggerated)cultural sensitivity to advance their narrative of victimhood, the ultimate goal of Salafist Jihadis is to dominate and disintegrate what they consider to be the blasphemy of Democracy (Man making laws, when that right is reserved for God).
Thus, the utter defeat and humiliation of radical Islam is directly connected to the protection of our freedoms..including the freedom of expression. Our service men and women are holding that line well forward of our homes, so that we remain free to bitch and second-guess ourselves without fear of retribution from our own government or from a bunch of benighted medievalist savages.
That heckler was the soft, fleshy patch where a pair of gonads may once have dwelt. And Sarah PWNED him with grace and steel.
I am SO happy to have her back!!

Whoever in the McCain campaign that made the decision to keep this woman bottled up right after the convention should be outed for the Political Idiot that they are. That decision alone may have cost Maverick the election. Anybody have any ideas who made this dunce move?
CapitalistPig on October 7, 2008 at 10:57 AM
Haha yeah I was going to say something similar. I wasn’t aware that we were in Iraq to fight for our right to protest. I thought it was because there were WMD’s, and then later because Saddam was such a horrible tyrant or something.

JAM on October 7, 2008 at 10:57 AM
The United States is the sole nation that is protecting true free speech. If the United States is destroyed, through terrorists killing us all, that first amendment, and all the others disappear.
Fighting for the survival of this nation includes all the freedom that it was created to protect. Don’t put so much good faith in anti-war talking points.

No, the terrorists want to kill us precisely because we hold those rights dear. If we all agreed to restrict our speech and behavior to what they thought was acceptable, they’d be happy to consider us their dhimmis.

Dangerous atmosphere? Like bashing the United States overseas and to our enemies? Like claiming we are air raiding villages and killing civilians in Afghanistan? That type of dangerous atmosphere. Boy, I hate the media.
Blake on October 7, 2008 at 11:01 AM
It all started with the Continental Army. And then – oh hell, why bother? You are either too dense or too stupidly partisan to understand.
ManlyRash on October 7, 2008 at 11:01 AM
Actually, there were numerous reasons cited to invade Iraq, all listed on the Joint Resolution to invade Iraq.
But then, if douchepuddle nitwits like you gave a damn about the truth, you wouldn’t make such boneheaded partisan statements to begin with.
MadisonConservative on October 7, 2008 at 11:02 AM

Rick Davis is the campaign manager and Steve Schmidt is the communications guy. You gotta start there. And McCain had to approve the strategy.
They should not have had her wasting her time on Katie Couric — not in the same week that she had all the U.N. and foreign leader meetings going on and was also preparing for the debate. It just wasn’t necessary.
BigD on October 7, 2008 at 11:06 AM
I wasn’t aware that we were in Iraq to fight for our right to protest. I thought it was because there were WMD’s, and then later because Saddam was such a horrible tyrant or something. – crr6 on October 7, 2008 at 10:57 AM
The actual reason we are in Iraq is to establish a beach head for liberty and the free market in the Muslim world. So far, it looks like it’s working. With any luck, freedom and prosperity will take hold and spread like a virus through the region, gutting and neutering Islam as effectively as it gutted and neutered Christianity.
ManlyRash on October 7, 2008 at 11:06 AM
Team McCain HAS to give her some domestic policy to tout which fits her style and narrative, not necessarily her expertise… that’s her main strength for god’s sacks if you check what others have said about her in Alaska… McCain’s policy is holding her back badly… I think a health care pivot that focuses hard on exercise and recreation that counts on people taking their own initiative would do wonders… give out an active lifestyle tax credit to pay for things like gym memberships, exercise equipment, 5k runs, etc everything… some of that is only deductible on doctors orders… some of that(gym memberships) is usually taken up by health care insurance but it would make the whole deal easier to sell… the only way to keep costs down is to get people to take care of themselves
“There will never be universal health care in this country until everyone who is able to take care of themselves, takes care of themselves”…
But, Team McCain is unimaginative and they will suffocate her with McCain craptastic policy(actually not that bad) and policy messages(horrid).. they’re terrible at selling policy… it’s all jumbled, punchy, poll driven and not narrated…
ninjapirate on October 7, 2008 at 11:06 AM

Actually we were there after Saddam failed to comply with 17 UN resolutions requiring him to destroy his WMDs under the watch of the UN Weapons Inspectors until 100% of the WMDs that HE claimed were gone. He repeatedly failed to do so. The last resolution gave him one last chance to comply. No lesser Bush hater than Hans Blix reported to the UN that Saddam could not or would not account for tens of thousands of litres of anthrax and sarin. Now if you are capable of thinking back AND intellectual honesty, you’ll recall that this was not long after the anthrax letters virtually shut down the US for several weeks. All of your Democrat comrades in the Congress thought AT THAT TIME that Saddam had to go. Once the war got tough though, the Dems went shopping…for political gain at the expense of our soldiers. Try your shallow Dem talking points elsewhere, troll.
Patrick S on October 7, 2008 at 11:08 AM
That made me smile.
When my daughter asks why Daddy is never home, I tell her that he’s off protecting us and his country from the mean people that would take away her way of life. Not strictly true (he works from a desk at Ft. Meade, shore duty), but it is in a bigger sense. And Sarah’s son is fighting the good fight for us, just like my husband and so many others. I used to tell people that I served to protect their right to be an idiot. True enough, in this case.

What a disgusting link…what a fool you are.
Listen to all of you Republicans:
We are in the final weeks of the campaign, all of us posting have made a decision, we have fleshed out the facts, we have chosen McCain.
Now is the time to rally, if you don’t want to rally, then go to Huffpo and help their cause. They have theirs, we have ours.
If you are still trying to “take down” McCain, move on, this is the final few weeks and the campaign has moved on. It is now a push to victory…so if you post something negative, detrimental to these final few weeks, be prepared to be called out for what you are…a liberal troll, a poseur, a lonely person who wants attention, or a fool.
The debate is over, it is now a race to the finish line…

No mistake made whatsoever.
I reiterate(probably for the 5th time on this site): Palin’s re-entrance on the scene, McCain camp’s re-increase of attacks is all about timing.
misslizzi on October 7, 2008 at 11:11 AM
Thanks, Big D. If there are defining moments/decisions that swing elections one way or another, that move will be it. Having had MILLIONS pumped into the McCain campaign right after the Palin announcement, then keeping her bottled up: Big DUMBASS Move.

wise_man on October 7, 2008 at 11:13 AM
Glad to see an intelligent response. Unlike some people (I’m looking at you, upinak).
This is true, hawkdriver. But Iraq is not Iran. You can’t conflate the two. I think a lot of people (whether from ignorance or stupidity) just lump the entire middle east into one bucket: terrorists. They’re different groups, with different ideologies and approaches.
A group like the Iraqi-insurgents can’t hope to force us to “convert or die.” THey don’t have the means. THey can harm us, no doubt. But they’d never have the ability to force the US to convert.
Iran is a larger threat, due to their larger resources and the fact that they’re an ACTUAL COUNTRY. But Palin was not talking about that.
Trent1289 on October 7, 2008 at 11:14 AM
Folks, the upside of McCain losing is that four years from now, Obama vs. Palin is going to be like Carter vs. Reagan all over again. She’ll wipe the floor with him.
