Video: Palin hits Obama on wanting to meet with Ahmadinejad

posted at 6:45 pm on October 7, 2008 by Allahpundit

Simply scandalous — coming from a Republican. If McCain was eight points up and Harry Reid was out on the stump talking about how Maverick’s insane temper might just lead us into a nuclear war, or the left was putting out 527 ads about how his POW experience makes him a tad too unstable to trust with the button, well, that’d be good ol’ hardball politics. Before the next predictable wave of fresh outrage descends, refresh your memory with the facts: Not until fairly recently did The One refine his blanket invitation to meet with the world’s scummiest leaders to exclude Ahmadinejad. His aides finally figured out that gladhanding a notorious Holocaust denier and Jew-hater probably wouldn’t be good for Obama’s image, so at some point we segued from “I’ll meet with anyone” to “I’ll meet with certain Iranian leaders.” Here’s the guy, presumably, whom he has in mind. Feel better?

All that said, I still agree with Ross Douthat. As a left jab, the attacks on Obama’s character via Ayers, Wright, etc., are fine. But we’re down big on points right now and need an economic right hook. Where is it?

Thanks for taking the time. That is unbelievable – yet completely believable.

CC:

It might be the area I live in, but I was a realtor and maybe one of the properties I sold went to a speculator and he rented the property out rather than defaulting. The rest of the homes I sold went to regular people, some of them with conventional loans, some not.

I know almost everyone has a real estate story, so I might as well add mine:

I live in a cookie cutter area east of Phoenix that got started about 2003. Builders sold low to investors from California who bought up 2 – 4 – 6 homes to flip them knowing the builders would raise prices as the area caught “the buzz”. By the time they placed resident/selling restrictions, it was too late.

Now we have neighborhoods with abandoned and rental homes. People dumped them last year. We did fairly well on our previous home so we stuck with the plan working towards retirement within the next 7-10 years. Starting in Dec 04, we went from 150,000 to 280,000 in about 2 years. Now we are back down to ? (who wants to look). So now we wait. Not a totally bad thing but we were hoping a reasonable market in the Valley of the Sun would work out better than it has so far.

The Republican candidate for Vice President not giving an opinion on one of the most important and contentious issues in this country is strategy?

It’s not?

Brilliant segues there, Palin!

But we’re down big on points right now and need an economic right hook. Where is it?

The Fannie/Freddie jibe is a start. Let that soak in a bit and then extrapolate at the next rally (or Mac can run with it tonight in the debate).

Only problem – Obama’s voters probably won’t be reading ANYTHING.

Folks, we are looking at the greatest political figure of our lifetimes. She’s 10 times better than Reagan. And that’s no hyperbole; It’s fact!

Allahpundit:

“All that said, I still agree with Ross Douthat.”

That’s not surprising – since you are both the same kind of Terrorist-enabling idiot!

Do you also clean his toe-nails and oil him carefully?

BIDEN: Can I clarify this? This is simply not true about Barack Obama. He did not say sit down with Ahmadinejad…

Yes, he did in this interview. When talking about his dislike of Columbia giving a platform to Ahmadinejad in May, 2007, Obama was asked a question about his prior assertion that he would talk with Ahmadinejad and whether he would still meet with him. Obama accepted the premise and said he would and expanded on same while naming names.

Sarah needs to go smack McCain in the rear end for letting Obama lie nonstop and go almost utterly unchallenged in the debate.

She wants to win.

Mac just wants to impress the voters that he’s reasonable.

That way, the oleaginous liar, Obama, wins.

Unless Palin can rile Barry to a fiasco in 27 days,

“This is not the ‘sitting down at the table without preconditions’ that I knew.” Sitting down at a table without preconditions being thrown under the bus…

“No no, *my* ‘sitting down at the table without preconditions’ is preceded by months of high-level negotiations, and – naturally – if anything goes wrong during that time, the deal’s off –”

I love Sarah Palin, and I thought she won handily in her debate – but she did not go after Joe Biden in a similar way, when he was fabricating stories. Of course, she probably didn’t realize she was going to be debating Walter Mitty.

Sarah 45!

Mr. Wednesday Night on October 8, 2008 at 3:22 AM

Wow, she is hitting on all cylinders.

Ayers, Raines, Johnson, Ahmedinnerjacket, higher taxes kill jobs…and faith in government vs. faith in the people.

Can we go ahead and knock McCain off the top of the ticket right now?

Palin ’08!

Geministorm on October 8, 2008 at 8:27 AM

Palin doing the job Mccain won’t do.

I ask again: why don’t we have her on the top of the ticket?

promachus on October 8, 2008 at 8:46 AM

Can’t wait for Mrs. Palin to blast Obama for his only executive experience with the Annenburg Foundation and the CAC when he funneled >$50M to Bill Ayers curriculum in Chicago public schools for the Radicalization of its students. Guess he thinks there are 4R’s…Reading, Rithmetic, Riting and Radicalization..
Go, Sarah! Sink your pearly whites into his hide and don’t let go

It does not seem to bother anyone that Ahmadinejad did not go to the U.N and threaten to ‘wipe Israel off the map’.

Why do your leaders keep repeating it,even professors of farsi in israel have cleared it up.

What he said, As the imam(he was quoting ayatollah khomeni in the 80′s-when he said it ,no one saw it as a threat),he
said the REGIME occupying Jerusalem(zionism)will vanish from the pages of time.

When we wanted to end communism in USSR,that didn’t mean we wanted to kill all Russian’s.It is the ideology.

Apartheid in south africa has vanished from the pages of time.
To support a pre-emptive strike on a nation you mis-represent is so American.
You believed the lies that sent you to Iraq, please for all our sake don’t condemn the Iranian people to the same fate without even trying to find out the true facts.

Why not get an Iranian blogger or writer to debate.Persians are a proud nation seeped in history, you might even learn something.

Some claim because they shout death to America then the obvious way is to nuke them.

They actually sing it in the style of the Beach Boys, get a life they are just buddies together.

That’s the only image the U.S seems to see.Did the candlelight vigil’s with poster’s saying ‘death to terrorists ‘ following 9/11 shown.
Was the of 9/11 condemnation by Political and religious leaders in Iran shown.

Was the co-operation in Afghanistan by the reformers ever shown, did anyone know that they dropped the ‘death to america’at friday prayers following 9/11 .

It was Iran who persuaded the northern Alliance to support the U.S.
The reformist party reached out to America, when they were called an axis of evil,it was humiliating, this gave rise to Ahmadinejad.
