Quotes of the day

“[I]n the world in which Obama moves, it would seem absurd and provincial to object to partying with an ‘unrepentant terrorist’. The Senator advanced and prospered in a milieu in which men like Ayers are not just accepted but admired for their ‘passionate participation’, and function as power-brokers and path-smoothers. This is a great country, and most of us (as Peter Kirsanow notes below) make it without having to kiss up to America-haters like Ayers and Wright. But not Obama.”

“Palin denies racism”

The headline condemns her. Good times.

She’s not attacking him, she is merely pointing out the facts. Nothing she has said in incorrect, it’s the MSM that’s trying to spin this as racist. How can a man running for president still have so many unanswered questions about the basics of his life? Doesn’t the MSM realize that an Obama presidency would be bad for them also?

Gov. Sarah Palin denies racism is behind her attacks on Sen. Barack Obama.

It’s pretty sad that a debate of ideas and ideals is ended with vapid screams of racism…and no one seems to object.

How long can this tactic be expected to last? Don’t these people have parents, and didn’t they ever read “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” to them?

As notorious white supremacist Thomas Sowell puts it:

But the country does not deserve to be put in the hands of a glib and cocky know-it-all, who has accomplished absolutely nothing beyond the advancement of his own career with rhetoric, and who has for years allied himself with a succession of people who have openly expressed their hatred of America.

lol, I love Steyn.

Palin is got the kind of strength that doesn’t break. She’s a tremendous asset, and I’ve very glad she’s on the scene. Without her, this would be a very bleak final month indeed.

Spirit of 1776 on October 6, 2008 at 10:50 PM

How the O! could not have been aware of Ayers past is beyond belief. In fact I would posit that Ayers background is precisely why O! was associating with him in the first place. After all as a Red diaper baby he was grounded in the politics of hate and confrontation from his prior mentor Frank Marshall Davis.

Speedwagon82 on October 6, 2008 at 10:56 PM

So, MSM, here’s your chance to ask The One (snicker): If O “was not aware” Ayers was a domestic terrorist, why is he saying so now and not when Stephanopolous asked him about it during the primary debate? Or during O’Reilly interview? Or ever before? Or, when he did find out, why didn’t he issue a mea culpa for the fundraiser then?

But weren’t they on the Annenberg thing BEFORE running for office? So if Barry did not know who he was dealing with all those years (like Jeremiah Wright I guess) = then why do we want to elect such a completely oblivious person???

scrubjay on October 6, 2008 at 10:59 PM

BARACK OBAMA IS A LIAR. Anything you say against him or his campaign is called racist! He’s telling his people to get in your face, which I have already experienced and now I have heard that is starting to threaten churches if they say anything against his viewpoints. This sure doesn’t sound like America, but more like the Third Reich or the Soviet Union. America, we cannot let this man get in the WH, or the first thing he will do is declare martial law and come after anyone that disagrees with him

ConservativePartyNow on October 6, 2008 at 10:59 PM

Obama’s grandparents expressly moved to a town in Washington state, so that his mom could attend a radical high school, where she was taught courses on subjects like anarchism. This is in the 50’s, mind you.

Then, O’s grandpop testified under oath that he was a member of the Communist Party….which doesn’t make O a Commie, but points to how he could pal around with Ayers. Then you have the Frank Marshall Davis freakshow, another CP member, that O says was a “mentor” to him….

hippie_chucker on October 6, 2008 at 11:00 PM

We can’t say anything truthful about Obama that is negative because he is a liberal. However, falsely accusing republicans is something acceptable for the MSM.

Let’s look at the double standard. McCain is falsely accused of cheating on Cindy with a lobbyist by the NY Slimes. All of which is innuendo and possibilities and no sources. Lies.

Obama hangs out and gave money to terrorists Bill Ayers and his wife, got sweetheart deals with Rezko, has a wife that was never proud of America until her husband got nominated, has a radical father figure in Reverend Wright who blames America for everything and is an anti-Semite, Pfelger is another radical, marched with Farrakhan another anti-Semite, has illegal contributions from Pro-Palestinian groups and foreigners, he worked for ACORN as a street agitator, an Alinsky student, and has economic advisors and the second largest contributions from Freddie Mae and Fannie Mac.
All of this is true and proven. Yet we can’t say anything.

jencab on October 6, 2008 at 11:01 PM

Sadly, I’m pessimistic his stupid lies will make a dent. Here’s why. On Wright, Obama went from (not joking, check the record): I didn’t hear it, I didn’t hear it repeated, I heard it repeated but it’s ok because I love my white racist grandmother, too, I didn’t hear it repeated (again), to “Well, what can I tell ya?” on O’Reilly. If this was ANYBODY ELSE (re: Sarah), they’d be done like a baked ham, but the media carried his water. Barry claiming ignorance on Ayers, sadly, I fear, will meet the same fate. I hope I’m wrong.

Palin denies racism Gov. Sarah Palin denies racism is behind her attacks on Sen. Barack Obama

This is close enough to say that Palin is being treated like the defendant on trial for domestic abuse. On the witness stand, the prosecutor asks the defendant: “So, Mr. Defendant, at what point in your marriage did you begin beating your wife?”

Seriously, Ayers’s hatred of the U.S. is important to echo, but the key thing to this attack–the one that will resonate with undecideds–is the discussion of how Ayers picked Obama to be on a foundation board and, then, chair of that board so that Obama could then administer a $50 million grant from the Annenberg Foundation, supposedly to improve Chicago schools.

Rather than use that money for programs directed toward improving test scores and proficiency in school subjects, Obama and Ayers wasted the money on programs that taught parents and kids about “direct action” so that they’d become effective community organzers who show up to protest at banks to extort the banks out of money for subprime loans.

Don’t lose sight of the important point. Undecideds will look at that and say, “How could you blow that money on such nonsense?”

Sorry to cite a Biblical principle, but this is an example of how Obama–who purports to be such a committed Christian–was a horrible steward of other people’s money.

That’s something middle America can get their heads around.

BuckeyeSam on October 6, 2008 at 11:45 PM

Editor, you’re referring to his POW days? Thats a good ad, there.

hippie_chucker on October 6, 2008 at 11:43 PM

I think it would be devastating, actually, after thinking about it. Working from a negative message to a positive one.

Editor on October 6, 2008 at 11:46 PM

Oh, and “When McCain had a chance to come home, he DECIDED TO SAY WITH THEM!”

JarvisW on October 6, 2008 at 11:46 PM

thats STAY, not Say lol

JarvisW on October 6, 2008 at 11:50 PM

Editor, I can hear the announcer’s voice now…
“While Barack Obama was starting his political career in the home of a Communist sympathizing terrorist, John McCain was in a similar place, 3,000 miles from home, being repeatedly tortured by his Communist captors.” (you get the idea)

hippie_chucker on October 6, 2008 at 11:51 PM

Here’s the reality: if Obama somehow gets elected there are many, many, many of us who will NOT just lie down and allow him to run our country into the dirt. We all see the fallacy, bias and lies that the MSM have been working overtime on to get this idiot elected. I have heard it said that, as a patriot, if the other side wins we should all just accept and stand behind “our president”. This man will never be my president. Ever. I see dark days ahead if Barack Alinsky is elected.

carbon_footprint on October 6, 2008 at 11:51 PM

Ayup, Carbon. You’re right about that. At the end, everyone hated Carter anyway….

hippie_chucker on October 6, 2008 at 11:53 PM

“Both John McCain and Barack Obama have spent time around Communists.”

“John McCain fought them.”

“Barack Obama had parties at their houses”.

“Any questions?”

Bishop on October 6, 2008 at 11:57 PM

The race card???????? McCain adopts a dark skinned child from Bangladesh and Palin is married to a Native American. What the hell are you talking about? Any attack on an effete, preening, metrosexual will be taken as RAAAAAAcist.

Mojave Mark on October 6, 2008 at 11:58 PM

Doesn’t the MSM realize that an Obama presidency would be bad for them also?

Tommy_G on October 6, 2008 at 10:45 PM

Nope, they think that they will assume their rightful place as an adjunct to the government as the Ministry of Information.

/not kidding

No, you are not kidding. Fairness doctrine, broadly enhanced hate speech laws, new definitions of what constitutes ‘protected’ classes, myriad lawsuits against simple language use such as calling something “gay”, etc. etc. etc.

If Obucky can’t take the heat during a campaign, there is no way in hell he would be able to take the pounding that every other POTUS has had to endure. Better to erase any condemnation or ridicule before it starts; Obarfy’s ego would have him be worrying about his legacy from day one.
