Palin: The attacks “may get kind of rough” going forward

That line comes near the end, bookended by yet another rip on Ayers and a name-check of Tina Fey that’s destined to be incorporated into the next SNL skit. If nothing else, the fact that the ‘Cuda’s willing to play attack dog undermines the theory that she views the campaign mainly as a vehicle to polish her own prospects. Her unfavorables are already at 40 percent in two new polls; going sharply negative over the final month on a guy who’s momentarily poised to win big won’t help reduce those numbers, although like everything else she does, it will of course further endear her to the base.

Man, that should be one warm, friendly town hall debate tomorrow night, huh?

what about Raila Odinga…Is this not big??? it looks like it should be

elraphbo on October 6, 2008 at 10:27 PM

Palin should start asking:

Obama… just how dumb does he think we all are?”

Over and over. To get under the Empty Suit’s thin skin.

The MSM has been blocking for him for a year now, but they’re coverage is fraying, finally.

And Barry arrogance at assuming people wouldn’t question his ill judgments was based on the presumption that the majority of Americans were fools.

Obama… just how dumb does he think we all are?”

McCain could even pose it, rhetorically, tomorrow.

People have been played for idiots by Barry.

Time to mention it.

Obama’s bitter half.

LOL!

I like it!

profitsbeard on October 6, 2008 at 10:33 PM

Fred Barnes and Brit Hume are both frustrated by McCain’s unwillingness to attack Obama on that front. Panel concedes it is probably because McCain is worried about being called racist.

Y-not on October 6, 2008 at 6:51 PM

This racist thing has to get taken down. Saying a black person is wrong just because he’s black? Racist. Saying a black person is wrong because he’s wrong? Truth. Being called a racist for saying a black person is wrong because he is wrong? Smear. It’s not too complicated.

What the heck is going on in this country? I am starting to suspect that I might be some fringe lunatic right-wing moron completely out of touch, this doesn’t make any sense to me, has the whole country lost their collective mind?. Help Please! I am close to having myself committed.

neuquenguy on October 6, 2008 at 7:22 PM

DON’T do that. The inmates are running the asylum. It’s enough to make any normal person feel nuts.

Ohh–there go the gloves–it’s on! Palin got Obama’s sweater over his head, and he is in trouble! She’s got one of the strongest punches in the Western Division! Ohh my gosh this is a real old-school thrashing, eh–she is just pulverizing him, raining one uppercut after another. . . the referees are closing now, trying to help the helpless Obama–ohh she’s taken him down hard, he’s gonna feel that tomorrow . . .

Ahhh, I miss hockey. Won’t be long now, though.

As many of you have mentioned, McCain is performing his best, deep, curtsy to the other side while Sarah is out there doing the kick ass tango…If he insists on losing this damn election, do you realize the depth of the tragedy?? Well, we lose the opportunity to have a Sarah run in another national election and that “My Friends” is truly sorrowful…We conservatives could all stand the frustrations of an iffy McCain Presidency knowing that Sarah is NEXT up to bat…It’s like the broken glass theory…ya know…

b4lucy on October 6, 2008 at 11:37 PM

Man, that should be one warm, friendly town hall debate tomorrow night, huh?

Great move for them to smack him upside the head with this stuff the day before the town meeting. He has to get into this stuff, or it’ll look like he’s running away from it. If he gets into it–heh, heh–to da moon, Alice!!!

smellthecoffee on October 6, 2008 at 11:42 PM

For good measure, Hume pointed out that the WSJ pointed out today that, in an attempt to seem like Joe Six-Pack, Biden referred to a restaurant that’s been closed for 20 years.

It’s not as if Reagan’s tried a similar stunt in Ohio in the 1980’s. The only problem is that it is rare to see Amtrak in Union Station, much less see any passenger service go where it did.

That’s who McCain wants to look towards. However, there are plenty around Ohio who don’t want 4 more years of a Reagan-inspired candidate.

If you read through it carefully enough - you would find that such photo-ops are not unprecedented nor are they exclusive to any particular political party.

sethstorm on October 7, 2008 at 1:02 AM

Damn, she’s good.

Obama hates women. McCain MUST use Gov. Palin to attack him, and do it every single day until the election. Obama will lose it at some point, guaranteed. That’s why they have worked so hard to smear her and get her off the stage.

rockmom on October 7, 2008 at 1:52 AM

I never in my wildest dreams would have thought that I could have a CRUSH ON A V.P. Candidate!!! The times they are a changing.

Posters seem to be frothing at the mouth. From an unbiased international view, you are all as bad as each other.

This left/right war that is in place has nothing to do with who is best to lead your country.
We don’t want the U.S to be our leaders of the free world when did we elect you?
So the right wing are telling the world Obama is a terrorist, the same as Jimmy Carter.Great measured reasoning, why bother with facts.

I can see why diplomacy is not a strong point with Americans,if you can’t hold conversations with your fellow citizens whom you disagree with, what chance has any other country.

Palin-obama ‘pals around with terrorists ‘and people cheer?I heard John McCain say ‘who is obama’,someone shouted ‘a terrorist’,no correction, just a smile.
What has happened to your nation?
My distain is aimed at your left wing as well, the world is looking on in shock watching an internal civil war that is destroying you all.

They cheer the fact the gets out. And it is a fact.

Regardless, don’t sweat our process. It’s important for pols to be accountable tot he people and demonstrating their level of corruption is important.

And who would you rather be the leader of the world? Russia? China? Don’t even say “no one” because that would show your utter stupidity in not recognizing that the world will always be controlled by people who are willing to kill. And believe me, China or russia would be more than happy to control you and every aspect of your life.

The US is the only nation in all of history that has gone to war with countries and then not only helped them rebuild, but allowed them to rebuild in such a way that they could be economically competitive.

Queen0fCups on October 7, 2008 at 10:53 AM

mags on October 7, 2008 at 8:36 AM

And BTW - every election since the very first one has been just as contentious. But the day after, we go back to work, and together we create the most powerful economy the world has ever known. Because that is what Americans do. As for this election, no matter which side of the aisle you are sitting on, this is the most exciting election ever. And so many more people are paying attention and are engaged.

We Americans get criticized for being loud mouths and saying what we like, but that is what keeps the resentments from boring too deep. As much as we get criticized for being a “racist” nation, the truth is, we are far more integrated any any other nation in the world. We work, play and are educated together. Everyone has opportunity and the freedom to choose whether or not to take advantage of it.

Sometimes Americans forget how good we have it, and then some Eastern European immigrant whose parents came here speaking not a lick of English, but their kid is a tremendous success, speaking perfect American English, reminds us how perfectly awful the rest of the world can be.

This left/right war that is in place has nothing to do with who is best to lead your country.

mags on October 7, 2008 at 8:36 AM

You are showing your ignorance.

(1) Contrary to what Obama might say, most Americans do not care about the international view of the U.S. Look back to the first Iraq war, or even the first phase of the current war, and show me how many Americans of any political stripe were concerned about what Germans or Venezuelans or Chinese citizens thought. I’ve had many dear friends from Europe, Asia, South and Central America — our political discussions go nowhere because their frame of reference is too different, including those who studied and worked here.

(2) To say that the left/right “war” is not relevant to who leads our country is demonstrable proof that you don’t know what the left/right war is, nor do you understand how extreme Obama’s political philosophy is to people on the right or even to centrists.

I assume you’re being sincere in reading this blog and posting to it, but you are very naive in your conclusions. Until you have some deep conversations with conservative Americans — meet their families, visit their neighborhoods, go to their churches — you will not understand why most of the posters here deeply object to Obama.

And until you open up your eyes and ears and recognize the attempts by the Obama leftists to shut down dissent, you won’t understand why many of us “can’t hold conversations with [our] fellow citizens” with whom we disagree. Many of us have been harassed at work, our kids have been teased at school, and our property has been damaged, all in the name of the left’s causes.

To all, Queenie my comment was to show how the negative campaining does not shed a good light on your country.
You seem to just want to tell me America is the greatest country ever and therefore you can not criticize it.

To assume you are ‘unique’ for integration, work ethic and success from working hard is worrying. Other countries are free.

The U.S has done good in the world. However that does not condone it’s action’s.Like in law we do take these into consideration.

I am in the u.k many have had enough of American’s insisting they ’saved’ us and therefore we have to do what the U.S wants

mags on October 7, 2008 at 1:03 PM

Manlyrash and lobosans,
You have made my point for me,i must be a leftie,go home,i am home .

Everything is seen through a left/right prism, other countries aren’t like that.

Identity is not based on political ideology,it’s seems like it is a relgion in the U.S.

mags on October 7, 2008 at 1:14 PM

Y NOT,
We get that the U.S isn’t bothered what other countries think.
That’s the problem. You have no moral standard’s to judge others on.

I am sincere in going on sites to find out what’s going on .
for myself.
The U.S screams about anti-americanism around the world .You are doing it yourselves.
If i follow right/left ideology and read right wing views of the left.
They tell me that left wing Americans are terrorists, lazy, tells lies morally bankrupt, the women are murderers(abortion).

The left about the right -they are homophobic racist’s,selfish, greedy. This is what you all are telling the world.

If i don’t understand how Obama’s left wing ideology is offensive to the right then ,it would be nice to read that.

Calling him a terrorist,is that left wing ideology?Trying to out him as a muslim because of his name?

Claiming i can only comment on other countries political systems after visiting, meet the neighbour’s and go to church is interesting.

I look forward to seeing you in a mosque in Iran.

I didn’t say you couldn’t comment, only that your conclusions are based on ill-informed impressions of our country and its citizens.

I have lived and worked overseas and traveled extensively, but — you’re right — I have not been to Iran. I’m not interested in covering my beautiful auburn hair with some rag.

I did go to a mosque in DC with my Iranian friend whose family had to flee the Ayatollah Khomeini’s regime. She didn’t seem too eager to return to Iran. I wonder why.

Work on your English and re-read the posts here. You didn’t understand any of the points people raised about yours.

Putz.

I am saying that each time both sides go negative it demeans
you.
Trying to out Obama as a closet muslim and therefore a terrorist is sad.Mocking his name and stressing his middle name and implying the evil doers have won if he gets into office, does not reflect your country in a good way.

If Obama win’s do you want the world to believe he is a terrorist and a liar.?

I am pleased that your friend fled Iran after the revolution.
Many fled when the U.K and the U.S overthrew iran’s popular and elected prime minister ,brought the shah back -an aggressive dictator.
More fled when the U.S supported and funded saddam to invade Iran including the use of chemical’s.
‘Based on ill-informed impression of our country and it’s citizens’
I think America’s ill-informed impression of other countries and it’s citizens is more scary.and dangerous.

mags on October 7, 2008 at 7:51 PM

I’m a she.So i resent you because you are better then me.
For having a different opinion.

I am confused as to which ‘bailing out’ you are referring to.
It can’t be ww2,because the U.S sat it out until they were attacked.By the time the U.S joined in we had already won the battle of Britian.

We had to pay though,we have only recently completed the war debt. You profited from the war.

Time after time our prime ministers asked dfferent leaders to not allow sinn fein/i.r.a visa’s to fund raise in the u.s.

The funding given was killing british and irish citizens.
Bars in Boston had drinks called ‘car bomb’ and ‘kill a brit’.Collection’s for ‘the cause’ was openly visiable.
To this day there is still wanted I.R.A men in the U.s that you won’t extridite, because they won’t get a fair trial, this isn’t ‘bailing out our sorry ass’
