Something is going on with Polling. I wish I knew what, but I know the numbers are no more correct than they were a few years ago for the last election, and for four years before that even.

Something is off with the method, but I don’t know what. Something never adds up at the end of the day.

There's an interesting post on AJ Strata's website strata-sphere.com/blog, which talks about internals of most of the major polls breaking for McCain (white women, independents), yet polling samples seem to be increasingly skewed toward Democrats.

He points to another website (can't give a link here from work) which analyzes the poll internals and applies them to the ratios of Democrat, Republican, and independent voters who actually showed up at the polls in 2006, which gave Democrats control of Congress. This calculation showed McCain slightly ahead as of September 28 (before the debates).

It is possible that the polls showing Obama leading are based on skewed samples which do not represent the voters who will actually show up on Election Day. With the crowds that are attending Sarah Palin's rallies, it is likely that the Republican base will turn out in greater numbers than in 2006, and if enough Independents are afraid of Obama, they could put McCain over the top.

"Overwhelming"--13 to 11 among those who raised thair hands = 54 to 46%. Frank Luntz' focus group on Fox had a much bigger margin for Palin. On the Drudge site, which is read by both liberals and conservatives, they had Palin 73% Biden 25% with over 120,000 votes. FoxNews' interactive poll had Palin 82% Biden 16% the night of the debate. CBS had about a 15% margin for Biden, with lots of undecided.

Ratings show that nearly 70 million people watched the VP debate, between the alphabet networks, FX, PBS, and the cable networks FoxNews, CNN, and MSNBC. How many of those viewers watched the debate, then turned off the TV without watching the post-debate spin, which was pro-Palin on Fox News and pro-Biden everywhere else? How many of those who watched the debate, and were probably impressed by Palin, never saw the Katie Couric interview? And we're supposed to be "overwhelmed" by a two-vote margin for Biden on CNN? What is the silent majority in flyover country thinking?

CNN has moved to challenge their only competitor for last place among cable news outfits - MSNBC. All of The Queer Channel's success seems to come at the expense of CNN, so they have moved profoundly left on the election.

The posters here don't understand. CNN discounted the racist votes of the group, i.e. all the ones that didn't vote for the Obamanation. Once those evildoers were obliterated down the memory hole, it became obvious that Joe Biden won overwhelmingly. You would have to be racist to think Biden or Obama could lose to Palin or McCain.

I was on a Holland America Cruise ship 9/21 to 9/28 up in Alaska and dayum, it ONLY had CNN. I thought I was in HELL for a week. Especially trying to discern the truth on the bailout, etc. Sigh.

Already, however, your problem is bias, and those that are not being counted.

I know that doing survey's irritates everyone. I do this as a living, but everytime one of you is not doing a survey when asked, you become a voice not heard from, and they can only go with those that actually answer.

so you have this group that knows that they are there for the left leaning CNN. They can dance around it all they want, but even the most honest liberal will have to admit that is where the cookie is crumbling and perceived by the American public in general. You are asking for a show of hands. The average person, when faced with that already biased situation is going to want to "please" the questioning group. They will raise their hands, in far greater numbers, to where they perceive that bias to come from.

Biden LIED too many times during that debate to even begin to claim he "won" anything.

Something is going on with Polling. I wish I knew what, but I know the numbers are no more correct than they were a few years ago for the last election, and for four years before that even.

Something is off with the method, but I don't know what. Something never adds up at the end of the day.
