Video: The obligatory “Obama Youth” fraternity

I’ve been flooded with e-mails to start a thread on the video of the so-called Obama Youth fraternity, and never let it be said that I kept Hot Air readers from a forum that will undoubtedly pile up hundreds of comments. I don’t consider this anywhere near as egregious as Sing for Change, but your mileage may vary:

There is some difference between having 5-12 year olds singing about Barack Obama and this group, which appears old enough to start forming their own opinions on politics. The quasi-military marching disturbs some, but as Jonah Goldberg notes, there is a tradition of this in black fraternities. The mindless chant of Barack Obama’s health-care slogans are less disturbing than comical, at least to me.

The Sing for Change video was clearly more of an exploitation of children for political indoctrination on behalf of the parents involved. The health-care cadence at least discussed policy specifics in the midst of the hero worship. The Sing for Change video makes Obama a demi-god to whom children should sing hosannas, and is much more creepy.

Yep. You are a racist. Get your pointy hat and sheet out of the closet.

Let’s just call those shirts “absence of color” or “non-light reflecting” to save us all some trouble.

/sarc

Why “absence of color”? Because black cannot be separated into other wavelengths of light like white light. So, there you go. A little physics lesson for a Saturday night.

it’s a term to calabrate TVs on the brightness of projection..

if you turn up the brightness on a test pattern (the colored bars) you will see two other bars a few shades apart from the black.. ideally, the TV is set to turn down the brightness so you can see one of the bars.. but not the other (below black).. rather useless.. but I always liked the name..

Bradky,

I know it’s hard to resist picking the low hanging fruit, but let’s get back to the point, here. This kind of lunacy is going to hurt one tiny little group of people, and probably some innocent bystanders.

The primary victims of this stupidity are the knuckleheads in the video. They’ll be laughed at by everyone they come into contact with, except those who put them up to this. And if they don’t get this out of their system fast, and fall into the Farrakhan paramilitary corps, they’ll probably end up prematurely dead, due to their antisocial behavior.

They will alienate their (sane) loved ones, while ingraining a sense of victimhood deep inside themselves, and perpetuate the culture of failure from which they most obviously were spawned.

Their mentors should be called out and shamed. This is stupidity glorified.

STUNNING VIDEO!! I CAN’T SLEEP (NO MORE HOTAIR B4 BED) SO HERE IS THE PIECE MANY POSTERS HAVE REFERRED TO on this thread. It’s an editorial, *****”Michelle Obama’s Boot Camp for Radicals”***** from Investors Business Daily, 9-8-08. I had made a copy of it last month but I didn’t save the link and am so far unsuccessful trying to find it at IBD even with the exact wording and date. A google search turned up a look-alike but bogus url (surprise!) It may have disappeared- down the memory hole but I will keep trying. Meanwhile, I will post it here:
Part 1
Michelle’s Boot Camps For Radicals By INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Thursday, September 04, 2008 4:20 PM PT

Election ‘08: Democrats’ reintroduction of militant Michelle Obama in Denver was supposed to show her softer side. But it only highlighted a radical part of her resume: Public Allies.

Barack Obama was a founding member of the board of Public Allies in 1992, resigning before his wife became executive director of the Chicago chapter of Public Allies in 1993. Obama plans to use the nonprofit group, which he features on his campaign Web site, as the model for a national service corps. He calls his Orwellian program, “Universal Voluntary Public Service.”

Big Brother had nothing on the Obamas. They plan to herd American youth into government-funded reeducation camps where they’ll be brainwashed into thinking America is a racist, oppressive place in need of “social change.”

The pitch Public Allies makes on its Web site doesn’t seem all that radical. It promises to place young adults (18-30) in paid one-year “community leadership” positions with nonprofit or government agencies. They’ll also be required to attend weekly training workshops and three retreats.
In exchange, they’ll get a monthly stipend of up to $1,800, plus paid health and child care. They also get a post-service education award of $4,725 that can be used to pay off past student loans or fund future education.
But its real mission is to radicalize American youth and use them to bring about “social change” through threats, pressure, tension and confrontation — the tactics used by the father of community organizing, Saul “The Red” Alinsky.

“Our alumni are more than twice as likely as 18-34 year olds to . . . engage in protest activities,” Public Allies boasts in a document found with its tax filings. It has already deployed an army of 2,200 community organizers like Obama to agitate for “justice” and “equality” in his hometown of Chicago and other U.S. cities, including Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, New York, Phoenix, Pittsburgh and Washington. “I get to practice being an activist,” and get paid for it, gushed Cincinnati recruit Amy Vincent.-continued in my next post…

NightmareOnKStreet on October 5, 2008 at 2:24 AM

Pt 2 “Michelle Obama’s Boot Camp for Radicals”
Public Allies promotes “diversity and inclusion,” a program paper says. More than 70% of its recruits are “people of color.” When they’re not protesting, they’re staffing AIDS clinics, handing out condoms, bailing criminals out of jail and helping illegal aliens and the homeless obtain food stamps and other welfare.

Public Allies brags that more than 80% of graduates have continued working in nonprofit or government jobs. It’s training the “next generation of nonprofit leaders” — future “social entrepreneurs.”

The Obamas discourage work in the private sector. “Don’t go into corporate America,” Michelle has exhorted youth. “Work for the community. Be social workers.” Shun the “money culture,” Barack added. “Individual salvation depends on collective salvation.”

“If you commit to serving your community,” he pledged in his Denver acceptance speech, “we will make sure you can afford a college education.” So, go through government to go to college, and then go back into government.

Many of today’s youth find the pitch attractive. “I may spend the rest of my life trying to create social movement,” said Brian Coovert of the Cincinnati chapter. “There is always going to be work to do. Until we have a perfect country, I’ll have a job.”

Not all the recruits appreciate the PC indoctrination. “It was too touchy-feely,” said Nelly Nieblas, 29, of the 2005 Los Angeles class. “It’s a lot of talk about race, a lot of talk about sexism, a lot of talk about homophobia, talk about -isms and phobias.”

One of those -isms is “heterosexism,” which a Public Allies training seminar in Chicago describes as a negative byproduct of “capitalism, white supremacy, patriarchy and male-dominated privilege.”

The government now funds about half of Public Allies’ expenses through Clinton’s AmeriCorps. Obama wants to fully fund it and expand it into a national program that some see costing $500 billion. “We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as the military, he said.

The gall of it: The Obamas want to create a boot camp for radicals who hate the military — and stick American taxpayers with the bill.
END

You know I have a history of about fifteen years online and decry the Klan every chance I get, but check it out decrying the Klan is universal. Go to the places I haunt and you’ll see my disdain at the hypocrisy of the democratic party slagging racism while sheltering Bobby Byrd for example, but since you have this unique gift for glancing into my sould via keystrokes I am certain you have found my antipathy for white supremacists somehow wanting and I secretly harbor some sort of collusion in “keeping the YOUTHS down” or something MOBY. I’ll refrain from watching anything that requires a consent waiver thanks.

This is not just a few isolated nutjob youth. This is a subgroup of a campus movement in case you missed it and since there are people who are comparing this to the boyscouts and JROTC maybe since you have this magic power to deduce people’s hearts through cyberspace you can clue me in on why “it is normal for blacks to be militant to find self-worth” as was intoned earlier? I somehow managed to come up out of one parent poverty without needing to be a skinhead or wear painted boots but Fat Albert here can’t?

Or is it “won’t”?

the read the article just above and ask yourself if it was some benign program that made good sense why would THE ONE remove it from transcripts of that speech before releasing it to the big news outlets?

All this went down on 2 July, and THE ONE did not mention it again until his little 9/11 pow-wow/….

so moonbats are perfectly justified and “just asking questions” when they are in 9/11 Troofer mode but wonder why the Barack Youth Choir, The Gold Boots Fat Albert Barack Youth is needed, and about press collusion and you are “stocking up on ammo and ignoring the Klan”….?

You cannot even denounce the Klan without making it political and a problem owned solely by democrats. Therefore I question your sincerity as well as objectivity.

The klan is a fact – your opinions regarding this group are based on a video clip with limited facts. You want to imagine some bigger conspiracy behind it while ignoring the elephant in the room — already existing hate groups in large numbers. Only when a group chants obama’s name is the nation in peril….

I posted it here with reservations a few months back and then made the post at one of my old haunts….

I read it and sat on stressing it for a while because frankly I was in “nah it can’t be true can it?” mode…..

then since I posted it here and a few other places the Barack Youth Choir, The Barry Gold Boots Brigade, and the BDS sufferers have surfaced hard so I started saying “we rally in Texas” because frankly we will do better to have strength in numbers….

of course my own personal Jesus Brad has found my soul wanting because when faced with proof of a black militancy being condoned and fostered on a Jr High/High School campus I do not attack the KKK at once….

I was unaware of needing to engage in Mary Lou Retton like acrobatics and dismounts to tie a bunch of young black males with the KKK….

a mistake I won’t make again….

look at the gold boots and the Xmas lists shouted at you and then remember THE KKK SUCKS TOO!

You playing the KKK card to try to deflect some troubling undercurrents to THE ONE is indicative that you are a Moby. The FBI and many LE organizations are hard at work with regards to white supremacists, ever hear of hate crimes prosecutions?

So again to assuage your throbbing sense of “fairness”….

I hate the Klan with a passion. The strength of America is our diversity of origins and our joint adherence ot our national creed. I was raised in a Vietnamese boat community with low income housing that held a mix of Blacks, Koreans, Vietnamese, Thai, Cambodians, and poor whites.

I have scars on my knuckles from bailing minorities out of getting their butts kicked for no reason but the fact they “looked different than people on the dollar bills”.

Brad can keep on firing I am not the one looking silly trying to read a condoning of the KKK in the fact that posts having nothing to do with the KKK don’t have disclaimers against them.

Brad the KKK sucks, and I hope that they all burn in hell…..

Brad, the KKK sucks…oddly enough they were pretty much neutered by the FBI in a series of raids and actions that were the FBI of today to do against non white hate groups would lead to racist fingerpointing by grievance mongers like La Raza and the NoI…..

but again there is nothing worse than the Klan….ever not even Al Qaeda so now after all that can I be bothered by a group of people with low self-esteem praying to Barry PLEASE?!?

Barry’s own wife uses the fact he may be killed for a sympathy play. The last thing I want is a new democrat Martyr to take Saint John of Kennedy’s place but do go on. So now I need to decry 888 groups and not just the Klan…..can we cut to the chase here champ and why don’t you outline just how many hoops I need to jump through to be allowed to be alarmed by people who:

1) use/allow their kids to sing to Dear Leader the Messiah

2) allow condone and foster kids dressing up like contestants for “totalitarian idol” on Campus paying obeisance to THE ONE

3)have spouses that crib from Saul Alinsky direct and then wrap it up into “need to repair our souls” whole running for national office

Yeah hate crimes and hate groups suck…was briefed in on them during my time in the Army my wife still gets the brief thanks…I must have missed the memo where I am supposed to be paralyzed regarding new and blooming potnetial threats until they get the FBI seal of hatred monger apporval.

Those “kids” were trying to ape a military unit…

“kids” can conduct a LOT of mayhem ask Fwance about it…..

so I hereby decry 888 haye groups and for emphasis will agree the KKK sucks….now then I see a $ociali$t who wants to engage in tender loving mercies on the republic I love and has followers who sing to him like Dear Leader and fear for my son….

may I PLEASE have permission to pay close attention to him and prepare for the worst or do I need further instructions on what crtieria I must meet to act as I will which so far as I know is within the contraints thus far of law and morality….?

I refuse to be blind to potential danger because the ONE happens to have a darker tan than me…

He said it and the newsies won’t make him explain it…

it just takes one simple question: “barry why with precision do you feel the need to have a ‘civllian national security force’ with matching numbers and funding to the military and what precisely do you see their mission statement as being?’

Why won’t anyone ask THE ONE what he means?

sven10077 on October 5, 2008 at 3:10 AM

Bravo to you for posting it. But I don’t understand what you meant about “so I started saying “we rally in Texas” because frankly we will do better to have strength in numbers”. And could you please tell me what is a MOBY? I looked it up but even the “jargon” dictionary had nothing that would apply. Off to read/watch your links.

NightmareOnKStreet on October 5, 2008 at 3:03 AM

“We rally in texas” is a call for conservatives who can move from the rest of the nation to rally in Texas and keep it red and force the issues to lead to a war on where state/federal powers intersect and begin and end.

Barry will either be LBJ and Jimmy Carter’s love child or Mao Ze Che or somehwere in between. Frankly I suspect he will be a slightly more thuggish Bill Clinton in personal decomportment and try to turn the US into 1940s Labour UK but that is just about the best case sceanrio the right can expect. I see a lot of disturbing things that if THE ONE slides towards the worst case scenario may well necessitate “strength in numbers”.

Barry seems to have a lot of followers who are so caught up in the moment they can’t see gaps in his rhetoric and logic. Add in that the firther left you get past EUtopian $ociali$m the more cannabalistic the people in power seem to get and you have the real source of my alarm. It is not even that I fear Barry as a person I fear the witch’s brew he seems to be playing with.

A MOBY is named after the Brit who asked his fans to go on conservative gathering places on the web and run prototype Axelrod style astroturfing.

In the face of the Barasck Youth Chor darling kids like this various Rappers saying “Barack or Die” and such I say “get ammo and rally in Texas”…..I also point out that were the other side dumb enough to engage in partisan warfare they are far more vulnerable than they think.

I don’t recall ever looking forward to any of this, and I am not even sure I condone the responses I fear may be necessary in the wake of a true “movement” to make the US a worker’s paradise but I do favor being in a place where if need be we can take what steps we must as conservatives who have seen enough of the “joys of collectivism” to know we are not interested.

Has nothing to do with color except “red”….

I hate Marxism and its ba*tard offspring.

sven10077 on October 5, 2008 at 3:21 AM

by the way Brad “888 hate groups” diesn’t seem to have a single madrassa where Imams prech we need to get hit again….

guess not all hates “are equal” eh?

sven10077 on October 5, 2008 at 3:36 AM

also it is pretty interesting how La Raza seems to get a pass at the SPLC website….”general hate” for the Aztlaners…guess they must not have a defined enough message to merit their own subtype like “anti-immigration” forces do….

the hting about “hate” is that it is a very political thing on what gets labeled “just asking questions” and what gets labeled “evil that needs LE sent after it”….

Heh “Radical Traditionalist Catholic” gets its own typing but “borderline Wahabbist Islam” does not…..

sven10077 on October 5, 2008 at 3:40 AM

This is a bunch of bullshit, I doubt these kids will be doing this crap at all within a couple of weeks. They are all “inspired” to do this and that, unfortunately that doesn’t make it happen. Given their apparent lack of intelligence, I doubt it ever will. If it were only that easy, some politician gets elected and then your life is magically transformed.

I hope you’re right but I see a lot of folks wearing Barry t-shirts who speak loudly in airports, bus stations, and train stations talking about “change”…..

Brad here oops forgot to decry the KKK hold on a sec….

“The KKK sucks all 5-8000 active members of it according to the SPLC Brad”……

It has about two hundred or more entries there by the way but I digress….

I hope the kids outgrew it, we all have phases.

When the bulldozers were wreckin g the groves not far from hwere I grew up I was sorely tempted to put sugar in their gas tanks after I saw dead fox and raccoons from their work. I didn’t and refelcted after a bit that as a conservative life is a balancing act…plus my views softened when I saw the cute rich girls who lived in the condos they put up but I digress…

If Barry stays within the limits placed on him by his oath of office our duty as good citizens is to lick our wounds, and endure while plotting to beat him later…..

he crosses too many lines our duty as good citizens becomes to destroy his Presidency…..

if fate makes it clear that won’t work our duty is to our families and future.

Brad the KKK does indeed here at 0251 in the evening still suck…..

the Barack youth choir is I guess meaningless along with Barry telling me what temperature my AC/heat should be at and what amount of calories I should consume….

no need for alarm when Michelle says Barry will make us work and save our souls folks….move along….move along…..

I am brickwalling with fatigue…wait one.

http://www.zombietime.com/lgf_dictionary/#moby

it is LGF slang….

moby – An insidious and specialized type of left-wing troll who visits blogs and impersonates a conservative for the purpose of either spreading false rumors intended to sow dissension among conservative voters, or who purposely posts inflammatory and offensive comments for the purpose of discrediting the blog in question. The term is derived from the name of the liberal musician Moby, who famously suggested in February of 2004 that left-wing activists engage in this type of subterfuge: “For example, you can go on all the pro-life chat rooms and say you’re an outraged right-wing voter and that you know that George Bush drove an ex-girlfriend to an abortion clinic and paid for her to get an abortion. Then you go to an anti-immigration Web site chat room and ask, ‘What’s all this about George Bush proposing amnesty for illegal aliens?’” The strategy has been frequently attempted on LGF and elsewhere, but has not been nearly as effective as Moby envisioned, since false rumors are easily debunked by fact-checking minions, and cartoonishly extreme commenters often get immediately identified as mobys and banned from LGF.

Banning posters, hmmmm. Doesn’t happen much around here anymore. 2 1/2 years ago it was a different story.

Re: YouTube, curious, as you pointed out that Obama left the part about the civilian national security force out of his written speech. He is cunning and I’m beginning to realize, evil as well.
I heard Palin talk about the how the press needs to clean up its act and stop being so biased in her interview with Carl Cameron the other day. With her background she could take them on. I haven’t been around in the past 48 hours or so and I’m hoping she KEEPS BEATING THAT DRUM EVERY DAY.

Worshiping Obama literally as God is a black fraternity thing?

econavenger on October 4, 2008 at 1:58 PM

No, but the dance moves (or whatever it is called) in this video are identical to the moves in a movie that came out last year called Stomp the Yard. (Sorry if this has already been mentioned. I only made it through the first 2 pages of comments.) The movie was based on this thing called “stepping” (or “steppin” but I’m too old & too white to leave off the “g”) that is apparently popular in black colleges among fraternities who perform these routines & have competitions and what-not.

Don’t get me wrong….I think all of the Obama-worship that is going on is quite disturbing, but the stomping around…not so much.

Sven – I read some of your analysis of the “Service” speech, and Lindgren’s post at Volokh. I strongly disagree w/ both of you. The passage

We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.

was not removed from the speech by the handlers or added off the cuff by Obama. It was an intentional part of the speech which he stands by, but was removed from the transcript to keep it out of the official record of the event. Only YouTube alone can verify it was ever uttered.

I don’t know how Bradky gets me into a conversation about the Klan, but I have to hand it to him. B – on your point about these little Obamanite knuckleheads – of course. They are most assuredly harmless, and I am not in the slightest bit afraid of them or where they are going.

My point is more to the damage that their mentors are doing to them, not to me. Blacks who feel like perpetual victims are only victimizing themselves, not me. As for the startlingly large black criminal class, again, they seem to be more of a threat to other blacks than to me, especially in light of some habit of self-segregation (yes, I’m fully aware that whites like to live around other whites, so don’t go there. I live in Chicago’s south suburbs – an area that is more racially integrated than almost any other area of the country).

But back to the Klan – Bradky, please link me to the last known racial violence credibly attributed to the KKK. Just curious. To my knowledge, they are about as threatening as the local VFW, whereas black on white racial crimes have happened in my area an number of times in the past year.

the http://www.splcenter.org/index.jsp site has numerous examples if you are interested. They track hate groups including black separatists. Yes Morris Dees is probably to the left politically but the site is informative in knowing who or what is in your area.

I disagree with your characterization of the crimes in your area for one reason. Black on white does not in and of itself mean it is racially based anymore than a white on black crime is.

I thought I had made it clear I agreed with you about your points re the mentors.

Bradky on October 5, 2008 at 12:30 PM

Guys, thanks for the info on Mobys. Sven10077 hooked me up with several links because he had posted about the article I copied above “Michelle Obama’s Radical Boot Camp” He also provided the LGF DICTIONARY at around 4:30 this morning. Wow, it is very informative & comprehensive!

Sven, and so many others here are very smart. Gives me hope that we will get through this mess we’re faced with. Unlike Comrade Bradsky or whatever his name is. Definitely a MOBY! Sven & Brad were going 15 rounds. That’s what made me think of that poem I posted “He who knows…” Sven:master Brad:lost. Me:needs a teacher.

What always gives the trolls and MOBYs (my new word for today) is when they are provided with links or other sourced info, they never bother to check it out. They are totally agenda driven and must get paid by the word because they say the same meaningless sh*t over & over.

I’ve been posting her for over 2 years and I still can’t figure out how to double space between paragraphs if that is even possible. Any teachers out there right now?

Brad do me a favor I have put out my fears for all to see. Barry Backers are trying to send a “chilling wind” to free speech in at least one state, they sing to him and praise him as a demi-god in some cases, they march and act militant and shout Xmas lists invoking him like some patron saint of graft and entitlement. Deciding to keep my eyes on Barry and Aunt Esther deciding they want to “heal my soul” and “never let me go back to my old life” while offering Comrade Stewart tips for prolitarian friendly living are well within their “1st amendment rights” as is my antipathy to him.

Barry wants to intimidate people into silence on his slips of the mask, I never intended people to think I think he or his handlers “lost the call for the Barry Happiness Gestapo” by mistake….I am pretty sure he had it yanked on purpose so people not caught up in his delivery would not see the stark black and white of what he had said.

Only people who have seen that youtube or watched him on 9/11 know what little Xmas gift he has waiting in his heart for the nation should he win.

Secession is probably ten-thirty years down the road I’ll be an old man by then. Barry’s out of control spending will necessitate either massive tax hikes or free money policy that will make Bush look like Uncle Scrooge….

There is no third option.

He either breaks a lot of promises to peolle who look and act like they will be severely aggrieved or he destroys our economy. It doesn’t really bother me much because a country boy and his family will survive I have eaten possum and armadillo I can do so again if need be. The thing is when Barry’s economy implodes(and the implosion will be more severely felt since the press will candy up its reporting of his economy) there will be two big potential solutions.

1) go hell bent for leather towards worker’s paradise

2) go hellbent for leather back to capitalism….

the two notions are not easily reconciable without a totalitarian government with lots of guns….

I get the feeling that while the coasts and Urban areas are gonnba pick one the “bitter gun and bible clingers”* will want to go the other…..

then again maybe I’m wrong and Barry will have everyone’s souls saved in his “first 8-10 years”….

your mileage obviously does vary…

* not a racial stereotype from the ONE couldn’t be….
