The SarahCuda on the attack

The Free Sarah Palin strategy has already begun to pay dividends.  Palin returned to the traditional running-mate role of attack dog, reminding voters of Barack Obama’s accusation that American troops had a strategy in Afghanistan of “air-raiding villages and bombing civilians”.  Palin considers that a disqualifying event for a person seeking the position of Commander in Chief:

Speaking to Fox News on Friday, Sarah Palin indicated for the first time that she does not consider Barack Obama qualified to be commander in chief and sharply criticized him for saying last year that U.S. troops in Afghanistan are “just air raiding villages and killing civilians.”

Calling Obama “reckless,” Palin said that where she comes from Obama’s remarks “disqualify someone from consideration for the next commander-in-chief.”

“Some of his comments that he’s made about the war, that I think, in my world disqualify someone from consideration for the next commander-in-chief,” said Palin. “Some of the comments he’s made about Afghanistan, what we are doing there, ‘just air raiding villages and killing civilians.’ That’s reckless.”

Those comments came in August 2007, when Obama tried criticizing the Bush administration’s military strategy in Afghanistan.  Here’s the video:

We’ve gotta get the job done there, and that requires us to have enough troops so that we’re not just air raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous problems there.

For some, that recalled the accusations made against the military during the Vietnam War. The NATO effort in Afghanistan doesn’t involve “just air-raiding villages and bombing civilians”, certainly not as a strategy. Obama essentially accused the US and its allies of committing war crimes, although he appeared completely ignorant of the implications of his own accusation.

Interestingly, Adam Gadahn has just resurfaced in a 30-minute video, and he makes the same accusations. “Azzam al-Amriki” talks about “carpet bombing” at about the 6-minute mark. Gadahn, thought to be dead, appears to have lost a lot of weight. Maybe he was on the Al-Qaeda Fat Farm for the last few months.

Palin does a good job in bringing this back to the forefront. Either Obama meant to smear the military leadership in Afghanistan, including that of our allies, or he didn’t have the first clue what he was saying. Neither commends itself for someone who would command our military during this war, especially the fact that Obama made that accusation without ever having traveled to Afghanistan to see the situation for himself.

it would be nice to live in a state that looks blue but turns red when it counts. kareyk on October 4, 2008 at 8:45 PM

Me too :(

We are so spoiled in CA because of the weather and the topography too. The beach is 30 minutes away…the desert is 2 hrs away…skiing is 2 hrs to 5 hrs away (Wrightwood, Big Bear or Mammoth) There is Yosemite…it’s hard to leave …we might retire to another state but that’s 20 years from now…

Cuda should bash obama all week and finish with Meet the Press on Sunday “for the full Hour”…bash obama with ayers, jim johnson, that raines guy and Jeremiah Wright. Fannie Mae not holding hearings on afganistan, air raiding villiages

When she gets asked about the difference about their Bush and her obama attacks…she should say that obiden’s attacking Bush’s mistakes in his own policy and their attacking and tying obama’s own Judgements and personal beliefs that have been shown over years in which he could have changed but hasnt…showing he is more like bush than mccain…

Hey HA gang,

I just walked in the door from being away all afternoon and quickly read thought the previous comments so as not to repeat anything here that’s out of date.

Latest info: Gov. Palin will be holding a fund raiser only, ($1,000 to $50,000 a plate) tomorrow morning at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Burlingame (San Fran Air port) at 11:00 am. I can afford a couple of tanks of gas for the cause.

Loads and loads of anti-Palin whack jobs are reported to be showing up from all over the bay area. Plus, at least 1 humble commentator from HA to get the big moving picture.

I’ll be setting out alone on my quest at 7:00 am to be able to get a front row seat for the festivities.

I’m taking my MacBook along with my wi-fi receiver to be able to be “plugged-in” to the net and send reports back in to HA between the sighting of our prey, and the “CamCorder of Truth” of course.

Ed, Allah,
This ones for the good guys, and for the team.

If I don’t make it back…Ed, you can have my laptop, and Allah, there’s a 5th of 12 year old Scotch, I’ve been saving for a special occasion, in the cupboard over my stove. Just come and pick it up guys.

God Bless America!

Over.

In my mind, no illegal is nice. They don’t belong in our Country. I am a courier and drive the Santa Maria, Ca. route. They might as well call Santa Maria, Mexico. You wouldn’t believe how many Mexicans live in that town. When I go to the Banks, on Wed. and Fri. You should see all the field workers cashing checks. Makes me sick! Santa Maria is a very violent town. The shootings and stabbings. Car Jacking s. Glad I just have to drive in that town. Then go back to my small town after work. Illegals have had a hand in this bail out. They are going to bankrupt our Country. They have drained Medical, Food Stamps. They even got loans to buy homes in Santa Maria. When is this going to stop? And why hasn’t McCain or Obama said a word? Only thing that chaps my hide. They are not just going to go away. The Crime that they commit is bad enough. Then we have to pay for them to be locked up.

“I’m gonna die homeless, and penniless, and twenty pounds overweight…and no one will ever love me.” – Stuart Smalley

Someone needs to tell the truth in a way that the average American can understand it – without having to research it. They don’t trust the media, but they might trust Sarah Palin if she lays it out for them, or McCain if he does.

Either way, trying is better than sleeping through election day. I don’t advocate thumb sucking at this point. Let’s ROLL.

Click on the link button above the comment box. A window will pop up with a line for you to enter the web page address. Highlight the “http” text and click paste. That’s all there is to it. When I was in high school, the drama club performed an old comedy/melodrama/farce stage play titled “Egad…What a Cad.”

The villain was named Bertram Oleander. The hero was named Manly Rash. When I saw the play I thought that Manly Rash was the most ridiculous, over-the-top, asinine name I ever heard in my life and I never forget it.

When registration opend here at HA, it was the first name that popped into my head. It works on so many levels.

ManlyRash on October 4, 2008 at 10:57 PM

We’ve gotta get the job done there, and that requires us to have enough troops so that we’re not just air raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous problems there.

The next time Palin sees Obama, I hope she checks him in the bags, and says, “How dare you say something so disgraceful about the members of our armed forces–a group that includes my son and two son’s of my running mate.”

Lost opportunity for McCain: nationally televised Saturday night football game in Madison, WI–Wisconsin vs. Ohio State. I could see the McCain coin toss now. Obama can’t pull that kind of Americana thing off because he’s not one of us.

Oh well, I hope that in his debate prep McCain is working on a succinct series of talking points intended to take the Dem Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac enablers to the woodshed. If McCain wants to prove to middle American that he’s going to reform Washington, he’s got to begin taking the trash out–now.

And when talking about Ayers, he and Palin must begin talking about how little Obama and Ayers accomplished for the Chicago public schools with a $100M grant. That kind of waste is something middle-American parents can get their minds around. And when Obama starts mumbling about the nonsense that he and Ayers were up to, those parents will see that Obama and Ayers blew the grant on things that had nothing to do with reading, writing, and arithmetic.

If I may quote Victor Laszlo from Casablanca: “Welcome to the fight. This time, I know our side will win.”

Why, thank you ma’am. I’m a writer. Or, at least, I try to be.

Let us pray- if not we are doomed. I’m just sayin’.

We all are nervous warriors on the eve before the day of battle. Let these days be the Eve of Crispin and let November 4 be Agincourt.

You guys there has got to be another non logical reason for Obamas support…sometimes I think that they think Bush is so stupid and unexperienced and you know… that to punish us for Bush they are trying to elect Obama…to me the giveaway is that if I ask an Obama supporter the Hannity question of 3 things he’s done I usually get he’s a “Senator”…okay it’s an accomplihment to get elected but like a dotor who doesn’t practice medicine…he hasn’t accomplished much in helping anyone… I just don’t get it!

It’s not enough to merely say Obama was friends with an unrepentant terrorist which shows bad judgment. What ALSO has to be drilled into the America people from now until election day is the fact for 5 years Obama served as CEO of Wm Ayers’ Annenberg Challenge which was formed to’ improve the Chicago public schools’.

Over this 5 year period, the two of them spend $156 million, at the end of which, the University of Illinois at Chicago reported the Annenberg Challenge project had made no discernible difference to the school system

Q.# 1 – Where did the $156 million go????
A. The vast majority went for salaries/expenses of the “Community Activist” groups which were given “grant monies” by the Annenberg Challenge Project.

Q. #2 – Since this is the only real ‘executive experience’ Obama has had in his entire life, (after all managing a $156 million budget is pretty significant) why hasn’t his Chairmanship of the Annenberg Challenge appeared on his resume thus far??
