Hillary: You know who rocked kind of hard last night? Sarah Palin

Via Breitbart, here she is with Ryan Seacrest this morning stressing of course that Joe Biden, ahem, rocked hardest of all. Even so, you’ll find her point about the five-week learning curve gratifying. Survey USA polled Ohio voters and found them split: Biden won but only by a single point, within the margin of error, and Palin rated fully 20 points higher on likeability. (Biden was deemed more qualified by 15 percent.) 47 percent say their opinion of her went up, 18 percent that it went down. Not a game-changer, in other words, but a solid foundation for 2012.

The party split, incidentally? 37/31 Democrat, a fair sample. I’d love to tell you how that compares to the sample CNN took in its poll finding Greasy Joe a knockout winner, but … the data wasn’t released. Maybe that’s what Jeff Toobin was supposed to be doing instead of watching baseball. Exit question: Has it come to this for Her Majesty? Interviews with … Ryan Seacrest?

Just what Palin needs. A dose of Clinton validity stink.

Fletch54 on October 3, 2008 at 4:12 PM

CNN deserves to be trusted on these matters about as much as Dan Rather deserves to be trusted with National Guard documents.

lol

The greatest thing about Palin’s debate performance is now we can move past Palin is terrible back to where we should be: criticizing McCain. I’m mostly kidding, but I’d be happier and we’d be better off if both tickets were flipped.

Spirit of 1776 on October 3, 2008 at 4:12 PM

The really stupid thing about the polls right now is that some people are giving their partisan answer no matter what. 18% now have a lesser opinion of Gov. Palin? She rocked last night. In what universe does a person go from having two bad weeks, painted by the media as a moron, to last night and not impress even people who don’t like her?

I don’t remember the polls being like this in 2004, but maybe I just forgot.

Pretty weak endorsement of Biden’s performance by Hillary. The words were there but not the feeling. Clearly she is going to play nice with her party and say the things that she is supposed to say, but I don’t hear any passion for Obama-Biden, or even big passion against McCain-Palin.

Y-not on October 3, 2008 at 4:18 PM

So, California’s governor is asking for a loan because the great state of California can’t cover all its expenses?

Gee….if only the Democrats were able to take charge in that state and implement all the great policies that Dems like Obama and Biden have been talking about. Unfortunately for the peopple of CA, the state is firmly in Republican control and, therefore, the states economy is screwed.

Gawd, I miss Hillary. I wouldn’t be so freaked if McCain were losing to a Clinton, even the female version of a Clinton. I thinks she’s liberal but not a freaking nut.

Sue on October 3, 2008 at 4:20 PM

Even so, you’ll find her point about the five-week learning curve gratifying.

She surpassed Obama’s competence level in under five weeks.

If this continues at an exponential pace, then within five months, Sarah Palin will be as smart as Barack Obama and his supporters THINK he is.

Even if she is on my side, that’s still a very scary thought.

Unfortunately, they’ve been doing that for years which has resulted in poor people moving here for the promised benefits and rich people and corporations moving to states with friendlier tax policies.

Which means there are only two possible solutions:

1) Make it illegal for anyone that earns $250,000 or more/year to move out of the state.

OR

2) Elect Obama so he can make everyone’s taxes awful, in which case, the sub-tropical climate of California will win out and the rich folks will come back.

“I was so happy and up on Joe Biden” - Hillary, the great pretender liar.

Last night I thought of Hillary, in her soiled diapers, both from envy and fear.

The Cintons pray that the Obama/Biden camp loses. It’s impossible for Hillary to run again until 2016, if they win. In such a scenario Sarah would run against Barry in 2012 and Hillary would be sidelines/forgotten, in addition to getting much older.

She must truly admire, fear and envy Sarah, and would give much for an ounce of Sarah’s looks, femininity and charm, not to mention warmth and her life.

CBS showed their graph of how “uncommitted voters” responded when Biden, followed immediately by Palin, talked about Iraq. They said it showed stark contrast in how the people responded to Biden’s words vs Palin’s. But the line went from top to bottom before Palin had said 5 words.

Response? They “responded” before she even spoke. And CBS didn’t even have the brains to know they just aired to the whole world the proof that their “uncommitted voters” didn’t even give Palin a chance.

Odd that the first element of his performance she brought up was the genuineness of his grief over the loss of his wife and child. I think Joe Biden is a pretty guileless guy, and went there, sort of in the moment, without trying to capitalize on it in any way. I lost a parent in a similar way and it’s never far from your mind. I imagine he genuinely thinks of them every day.

In contrast, Hillary’s first instinct is to figure his recollection of the incident into his debate performance assessment. She can mimic normal human emotion but there are definitely some connections missing.

Faint praise from some honest media put Governor Palin equal or slightly ahead of Biden on the Debate. That means Palin exceeded by miles.

America wants leaders who believe in America and fight for what’s important to them. Elitist lifetime politicians want socialism because big government is their goal.

It’s as simple as that. Before anyone snarks that McCain is a politician of 26 years let me remind everyone that he first went and served his country and spent five years denied of his right to freedom. He doesn’t represent everything the GOP base wants but he sure does know that socialism would bring our economy to a halt.

I call BS! It’s a private heartache, and he used it publicly to garner sympathy. It’s unmanly and unseemly and demeans the tragic nature of the accident.

I might add that Biden continues to refer to the accident as being caused by a drunk driver. By all accounts, the family of the other driver is distressed by this, as the driver was found innocent of all liability. Apparently the Biden vehicle was in the wrong.

It doesn’t remove the tragic element, but the Senator is not above using the story for political advantage. That was the ONLY THING about his performance last night that disgusted me.

My reaction to that was to be absolutely repulsed! There was no reason for Biden to bring that up!!!! No one said anything about his family situation. He brought it up out of the blue and then showed how he can cry on cue!

Palin said she had not been able to afford health insurance and Biden said, “Well my wife and child died.” Like, your experience is nothing… mine is what’s important.

It was disgusting. And I have just attended the funeral of a family member. Biden was using that for political gain. Disgusting and dispictable!!!!

In a related poll, 98% of respondents said Hillary should come clean about her roles in Whitewater/Madison Guaranty, the subpoenaed billing document stonewalling, Filegate, Travelgate, and the Hsu contributions, and admit she’s a pathological liar, whose reckless ambition and lack of real governing/administrative experience (especially in comparison to Sarah Palin’s) would make her a poor choice and an extremely dangerous risk as a future candidate.

Why is California asking for that loan? Could it be for embryonic stem cell research or all that other trash (like sex change operations and abortions) which Californians consider vitally important?

California has its priorities — and the rest of the nation has its.

As a Californian, I beg of you — please don’t bail us out — we need to be taught a bit about fiscal responsibility!

…’he put forward a flawless performance’…yea, Shelob, he knows how to lie very well.
Who is ‘better able’ to shell out more money for Mexifornia?
That’s not a slam-dunk Hilly. Three out of the four candidates are pro-illegals; we still don’t know where Sarah stands on social services for Mexicans, etc. She needs to come on down to the border and check it out, (along with most Americans who have no idea what’s happening in the Southwest). Barbie Boxer and Lady Di haven’t been near the border probably ever.

Exactly. The Clintons have been around forever. We know how they operate. We know what to expect of/from them. I seriously think that Senator Obama would, at bare minimum, protect surrender this country. I do not, nor have I ever, though that of Hillary Clinton.

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on October 3, 2008 at 4:43 PM

I hope you don’t mind the slight modifications.

Am I wrong or perhaps feeling punk from MSM poisoning or has the euphoria over Palin’s performance been deflated to a sense of dread of our future overlords? Wasn’t it just a generation ago that JFK stared down a communist during the month of October? Now there’s someone of just about the same political stripe looking to sit at the same desk as JFK. Clinton, either, seems sane and rational to this conservative in contrast to the Great and Powerful Oz.

Perhaps the MSM is in full court press trying to convince us that our political radar is on the fritz and that Obama is actually leading.

I certainly hope not because if we have to watch a President-Elect Obama trying to quiet the chants of O-bam-a! on election night, I’m afraid that it will be a revelation for me that the America that I grew up in no longer exists.

Anyone want to join me in a group reading of Atlas Shrugged?

Dagney Taggart = Sarah Palin?

Is it time to to stop the motor of the world?

Ah, well, who is John Galt?

Time for a martini…

Not a game-changer, in other words, but a solid foundation for 2012.

Have we officially thrown in the towel on this election then?

This is the greatest evidence yet of PUMA impact.

Billary is looking at 2012, 2016, or 2020, etc.

She knows that if she criticizes Palin, she runs the risk of upsetting the PUMAs, a major part of her base.

I always thought she would do well…

Yeah, ever since you were a Mets fan, or whatever it is you were.

Tzetzes on October 3, 2008 at 11:55 PM

Word on the street is that she’s not putting out for Obama (pun intended) because he balked at the idea of putting on the Supreme Court if a slot opens up on it while he’s President (assuming he wins of course). Given that and the fact that she was not even considered for the VP slot and you have a woman scorned. After the shafting she got from the Dem Party, I could see Hillary making the jump to the Republican Party. If Hill (and Bill) are nothing else, they are pragmatists.

Dagnar on October 3, 2008 at 11:58 PM

Hillary as a Republican? Joementum’s coat tails?

It’s an interesting idea, and they DID throw her under the bus. She’s gone.

Naomi Wolfe in on Medved arguing Palin was out of her depth. In support of her opinion, Wolfe cites facts which are either wrong or lies. What a joke Wolfe is.

I was listening too. It reminded me of debate class, when one side has to take a position they don’t really support. Like most liberals, she has to override her own personally held beliefs (that women really ARE capable of doing this job) to be so critical of Palin’s performance.

Hearing her debate an intelligent man like Medved was strange, too. She sounded like a college freshman.

I am sorry to hear about your loss.

My reaction wasn’t disgust - but as someone who lost a best friend and two siblings at a young age, and the last of my parents not long ago, I know that there comes a time when you can talk about it without choking up.

It is my impression that Joe Biden’s loss occurred quite some time ago; he seems happy with his current wife, and his life turned out all right. I guess I have a little trouble believing he was sincere, and not using it (as you say) for political purposes.

Okay, I’m having a lot of trouble believing that. Liberals are eating it up, however.
