Awesome: New GOP ad lowers the boom on Dems over subprime disaster
posted at 5:15 pm on October 3, 2008 by Allahpundit
Via Ace. Gut reaction: One of the best ads I’ve seen this year, although part of that feeling admittedly is due to the intensity of my bitterness at the Democrats over this. I want to see them punished for it, this ad punishes them, ergo it starts off already halfway to being a “great” ad. Biases aside, though, try getting and holding a viewer’s attention for 90 seconds on a subject as dry and complicated as mortgage policy. Does this do it? Thanks to the arresting music and graphics, you’d better believe it. More, please. (But leave Bush out of the next one.)

It needs to be trimmed for TV airplay, but McCain does not need his own version. Better to let it run independently of him, to spare him from accusations of “mudslinging” — a curious label when applying the facts, I’ll grant you, but…
manwithblackhat on October 3, 2008 at 6:12 PM
McCain did try to tie Obama to the Fannie Mae deal with ads on Jim Johnson and Frank Raines.
And you know what? There was some greed on this, that is how the Democrats got the lenders to go along with their little scheme, there was money in it. There was money in it for realtors, contactors, all kinds of people.
I think that McCain should go after this, but I think the biggest problem is that it is complicated and the Republicans did not raise enough hell about in the past.
That is why I don’t think you should leave Bush out, he was one of the few high profile Republicans, along with McCain who actually tried to do anything about this.
Good ad. I hope there are more. But they need to be on TV. That is still where most people get their news and information.

The punch line of this entire line of attack should be a merger with a seperate Ayers-Chicago angle of attack. Then the ad to end all political ads could be prepared and refined over the next 2 weeks and dropped like a daisy cutter on Obama the economic crisis-instigating Chicago radical.

Most conservatives have been wondering why there weren’t ads like this out there. I’ve even taken to thinking that McCain wants to lose.

And get personal.

The only way this makes sense is if it is being field tested before spending the big dollars to take it to TV. Very few YouTube videos get wide viewership.
Here at Hot Air we know this stuff already. While I applaud there quick turn around time McCain himself needs to deliver this message and several others in person, in Obama’s face at the next debate.
Otherwise John, go back to be a backbencher where you have spent most of your career. Ronnie would not be happy with lack of drive. You are letting the party and country down.

This is getting closer to what I had hoped for. You have to kick him in the throat hard. This is a start.
When McCain walks off the satge after next week’s debate we had better see repeated kicks. Not just Rezko and more of this Dem bashing but Rev. Wright and Ayers. Obama is further left than any Dem candidate in recent memory. If that message does not get pounded home to the middle 20% in the next three weeks, this cause is dead.
Oh, and get Palin front and center on TV giving speeches every freaking week. 69.9 million viewers last night. If they keep watching, keep putting her out there.

The information needs to be simplified if it is to reach a larger audience. But I did hear the bells ring when I ran accross this little news flash. I really didn’t understand Obama’s connection with all this. He is much more culpable than most of the other Congress members.
Long before Obama ever got to the Senate he was one of the masterminds of this disaster!!! This needs to make it through the firewall to the American people!!!

If they want people to pay attention to it, they need to get Sarah to do the commercial. Her voice will draw people to the TV to hear what she has to say. And then her TV presence will get them to pay attention. She is about the only weapon the Republicans have that seems to be hitting the target.

Here’s another idea for an ad. Breifly summarize the dollar figures of the Enron scandal followed by the corresponding perp-walk video’s, including their names. Then switch to the present scandal, show video of the perps, such as Raines, walking free and then point out that he’s working for Obama.

After all the show………… after all the soundbites…………. after all the money……….. the problem of “social engineering” still exists.
The Federal Regulations that forced banks to loan money to people who could not pay it back, the funding for ACORN and La Raza, Fanny Mae and Freddy Mack still buying up those loans and the political hacks still getting millions in bonuses.
Nothing has changed, people, over a Trillion dollars in spending and new “pork” spending………….. Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, all of them, still in power walking around with big smiles on their faces.
…………… this makes me sick to my stomach. The end of the United States, right in front of our eyes, just so Democrats can control power.

NRO’s Stephen Sprueill links to reasons why McCain is reluctant to pursue economic political attacks on Freddie, Fannie, ACORN, and CRA.
On behalf of all of the American electorate, McCain has an obligation to aggressively expose and attack this scam on taxpaying voters. If McCain hasn’t the capability or finesse, he had better school himself on the issues and/or send out some persuasive surrogates who do.
Most certainly Obama does not have the understanding. He is effective only in bamboozling the public and hiding/disguising the facts while wrapping himself in a cloak of righteousness and claim of racism.
If McCain is reluctant to call out his colleagues on their malfeasance and abuse of trust/power, then he raises questions about his own judgment. Of Obama’s lack of judgment or ethics, we have no doubts; his colleagues have given him cover.
Man up, McCain!

How do democrats know who to knock on doors to – like the poster here who had an Obama person wanting to find the newly-registered dem who lived on the vacant lot across the street? How did that worker know there was a newly-registered dem there?
If the Republican party has lists of people in each of our local areas, maybe if we volunteered we could do some “community organizing” of our own – knock on some doors and see who might joing in protests – like maybe in the parking lots of the nearest NBC, ABC, CBS, or CNN office, with the protest being that the media needs to cover this.
Maybe we could make up signs with photos of Frank, Dodd, Raines, and Obama and the caption: “Sphincters of Steel”.
