Photos: Minnesota Left’s political tolerance

Tonight, as we prepare for our Debate Party tonight at Trocadero’s, one of the listeners for our radio station AM 1280 The Patriot has to prepare for some hard work cleaning his work van and personal car.  He made the mistake of thinking that he could have a bumper sticker showing his support of the station without thugs vandalizing his vehicles.  At least he remains in high spirits, as he e-mailed the station with the subject heading, “The Power of a Patriot Bumper Sticker”:

I thought you might find these photos interesting. I’ve attached photos of the way I found my van this morning. Evidently, leaving a car parked on the street with Patriot and McCain bumper stickers is intolerable to Obama supporters. They didn’t remove the sticker from my wife’s Volvo, though. However, it appears that someone in my neighborhood didn’t like it. Luckily, they didn’t use permanent spray paint, just some really annoying stuff that was hard to wash off.

I’ll look forward to the debate this evening.

They took their time in vandalizing the panel van:

They also take the time to spread the love for Al Franken, too:

And they came prepared.  They brought both black and white paint:

Now, what kind of people would put this much energy into defacing other people’s property simply because they had Patriot and McCain bumper stickers on one of the cars?  Usually, the same kind of people who screech constantly about “tolerance” and the closed-mindedness of Republicans.  Fraters Libertas has more.

Liberals are petulant children and can’t be trusted at the helm of the country. This is more of the same type of antics they engage in everywhere: on campus, on the streets, in the halls of Congress, et al. They protest, agitate, block, barricade, kick and scream when they don’t get their way. I’d love to see a 527 ad comparing them to children. There’s plenty of footage to prove it.

Well we had this discussion in another blog.

But someone is lighting Obama signs on fire. I don’t agree with anyone doing anything to stuff people pay for. Someone in my neighborhood (just a couple houses down) has one that is pretty crispy.

But the other day, someone, probably a kid, threw so many eggs at a older lady with a McCain Palin sticker on her car, that you could see the paint looking very odd. her car is now two tone.

It is getting bad up here. As it is in MN.

upinak on October 2, 2008 at 5:47 PM

Ever since I put McCain stickers on my car, I’ve kept my blinds open. No privacy, but it has kept the yutes away so far.

I still get flicked off, stared at, and had obscenities yelled at me though. My next door neighbor on the right told my new neighbor on the left side that she thinks I might be racist, so they should try to avoid me – like I can’t hear a conversation being held over my driveway with no tv on. Who knew a bumpersticker would invoke such random idiocy?

Anna on October 2, 2008 at 5:47 PM

I was at the store the other day and saw a homemade ObamaMoma sign (exactly how it was spelled) with his picture on the side window, I made sure I took my time leaving so my McCain/Palin sticker was very visible to them.

When Bush came to the White House, the Clinton staff left porno peppered in the office and office supplies. Bush told his staff to let it go. Giving the lawless slack is not a sign of being civilized or compassion. This sort of thing needs to be called, published and prosecuted.

If the office staff at the White can rationalize leaving some really nasty porno for the new staff to discover, the averages of escalation will continue to grow.

Hening on October 2, 2008 at 5:50 PM

We wont put stickers on our car either for that exact reason. We are trying to find a magnet so we can take it off when we aren’t driving.

sammypants on October 2, 2008 at 5:50 PM

Pinheads.

I’ve been flipped off over my NRA member sticker on my SUV in Seattle, but after moving to Texas and Oklahoma, nope.

Imagine that.

tru2tx on October 2, 2008 at 5:50 PM

There’s a short series of statements dealing with the intolerance of a ruling goup combined with the acquiescence of “reasonable people.”

It goes something like this: “They came for such-and-such group, and I said nothing. Then, they came for such-and-such group, and I said nothing. Then, they came for such-and-such group, and I said nothing. And, then, they came for me…and there was no one left to say something for me.”

I find this vandalism the most disturbing thing I’ve seen yet. I don’t give a rat’s ass what McCain thinks, this is an election about the soul of this country. He can continue to sugarcoat Obama all he wants, but I still think he’s a scary guy.

If anyone can direct me to the short set of lines, please post a link. I think it has application here because this shouldn’t happen here.

BuckeyeSam on October 2, 2008 at 5:51 PM

O/T: A federal judge has denied the DNC’s request for the dismissal of a lawsuit by Phillip J. Berg to seek an injunction against the continuation of Obama’s candidacy. My HOA doesn’t allow yard signs, but I’m thinking of putting something in the bay window in front – maybe some elephant lights or something (can’t put a McCain/Palin sign up, nothing political, even on the house). Yes, I’m playing with fire, and yeah, I’m a little scared… but I don’t want to be.

The blueshirt volunteers have a job to stamp out intolerant rightwing hate wherever they see it. It’s just that they’re a bit overexcited now for their leader’s big chance to inherit a national emergency. Once he’s elected though, as part of the official Obama Civilian Defense Force they will be tightly controlled by Barack. No worries then.

My two stickers (a McCain/Palin one and a Navy Vet for McCain) are taped to the inside of my back window. Can’t be peeled off by vandals, but I can easily remove.

I did used to put stickers on my old Jeep, but I drove her into the ground. My nice bought brand-new car is treated better.

On the racism issue:

Ask those stupid Dems who bring that up, how could racist Republicans have given 900,000 votes to Alan Keyes,as they did in Illinois, who is MORE black than Obama is? What racist would do that?

Update from Ace on that judge order thing:

Zero Sheep says it’s not an order at all, it’s provided by the plaintiff here as a “here’s what you should sign, Mr. Judge” exemplar. Without a signature, it means nothing, and just because we have a document, doesn’t mean it was written by a judge. Means nothing, he says.

This is what I get for using Ace like the AP.

It looks like more than one person did it and most likely one of them was a female. Look at the hearts.

I’m in the SF bay area and I confess this is the reason why I’m afraid to put a McCain/Palin bumper sticker on my car. Last night my husband, driving on the highway heading home home from work, saw a McCain bumper sticker. It was all scratched up like it had been keyed.

I look at the way these cars were trashed and wonder if this listener is just someone trying to get attention. The cars are not that trashed and it seems kinda odd that some random person (or group of kids or even Obama supporters) is going to plot this out and make sure they have the right number of signs, signs for Franken as well. Most of the lawn sign pullings and vandalism are spur of the moment crimes.

This looks staged.

Keep an eye on YouTube. I bet these vandals are just too proud of themselves to keep a lid on it.

Side note: A few days ago at George Fox University in Newberg (outside Portland) there was an uproar about a cardboard cutout of Obama being displayed by hanging it with fishing line. It also said “Act 6 Reject” (Act 6 is like affirm. action.) The univ and the newsies freaked out about “Obama hung in effigy! Obama cutout lynched!” It wasn’t exactly a highbrow display, but no people and no property were harmed, and the fishing line didn’t even have a provocative “noose” in it. Many diapers wet over it, yet actual property damage is met with ho-hum.

Just before the Kerry/Bush election, a neighbor’s windshield had a brick thrown through it, presumably because of the “Bush” bumper sticker. That was probably staged too, right?

Me, I don’t care what your reason is; I’ll shoot if I see anybody trying to victimize my family or property. Maybe salt rocks instead of lead, but basically I carry a big stick.

What’s with all this vandalism? Counting my blessings here, big time. I have McCain stickers on both cars, and a yard sign. Some of my neighbors have 2, or even 4 McCain-Palin yard signs! But there’re a lot of Obama signs in yards, too. My crazy godmother around the corner sports the neighborhood’s lone Ron Paul sign, and there’s a wonderful pink Palin sign down the street from her.

I’m sure every now and then a sign gets kiped by the kids, but overall, everyone expresses their politics here without fear.

The other day a woman called in to a local radio show, talking about how her McCain sign was pulled from her front yard and spread with dog feces (she doesn’t have a dog; apparently the vandals had a B.Y.O. policy). Her husband cleaned it up and hung it from the house, since the stakes had been stolen.

The next morning, it was apparent that someone had tried to light the sign on fire, but it would not ignite. Dog feces was spread on the front of their house, the windows, etc.

The vandals put up an Obama sign in their yard. I found it interesting that they had one on hand.

There was more to the story, but I can’t remember specifics – except that they purchased security cameras and put up a homemade sign.

This supports my own experience in this area; it is heavily liberal, and you would have to expect your property to be vandalized if you express support for someone other than a Democrat in a high-profile race. You would simply expect it.

A fair number of Democrats are all about silencing dissenting political speech…including Obama himself.

Oh, and the woman I talked about? She said that if McCain could put up with the Hanoi Hilton, the least she could do in support of him was to keep the sign up. Pretty inspiring, I think.

But it happens on both sides…but funny how it never is captured on film…

I beg to differ! I see cars with Bush, and now McCain stickers being the MOST vandalized!! The left have the most criminals on their side as the coddle them.

I think it would be rare for a conservative to do this. It is against our strongly held principles.

I forgot to mention the house down the street that has a McCain sign right next to an Obama sign in the yard. During the primaries, they had a Hillary-Huckabee combo.

Hmm, you don’t believe in the sactity of personal property.

Don’t put words and meaning into my mouth, flyboy. I respect the right of personal property, but I respect the sanctity of human life far more.

God bless Texas, or at least my little part of it.

Texas always has been superior that way.

Yes they do, but should never mean war.

trailboss on October 2, 2008 at 6:21 PM

Who’s talking about war. I’m talking about protecting my private property. I work my ass off for the things I have. I’m not going to let some little or big jerk-off get away with defacing my property.
