Photos: Minnesota Left’s political tolerance

posted at 5:35 pm on October 2, 2008 by Ed Morrissey

Tonight, as we prepare for our Debate Party tonight at Trocadero’s, one of the listeners for our radio station AM 1280 The Patriot has to prepare for some hard work cleaning his work van and personal car.  He made the mistake of thinking that he could have a bumper sticker showing his support of the station without thugs vandalizing his vehicles.  At least he remains in high spirits, as he e-mailed the station with the subject heading, “The Power of a Patriot Bumper Sticker”:

I thought you might find these photos interesting. I’ve attached photos of the way I found my van this morning. Evidently, leaving a car parked on the street with Patriot and McCain bumper stickers is intolerable to Obama supporters. They didn’t remove the sticker from my wife’s Volvo, though. However, it appears that someone in my neighborhood didn’t like it. Luckily, they didn’t use permanent spray paint, just some really annoying stuff that was hard to wash off.

I’ll look forward to the debate this evening.

They took their time in vandalizing the panel van:

They also take the time to spread the love for Al Franken, too:

And they came prepared.  They brought both black and white paint:

Now, what kind of people would put this much energy into defacing other people’s property simply because they had Patriot and McCain bumper stickers on one of the cars?  Usually, the same kind of people who screech constantly about “tolerance” and the closed-mindedness of Republicans.  Fraters Libertas has more.

Something doesn’t smell quite right about this van. Am I to believe that vandals have now suddenly decided to go with washable graffiti? And they went on their 1-house spree with piles of signs, duct tape and two kinds of paint? So who’s trying to get the press? The radio station or the wine company?

(Yes, it pains me to entertain a defense for obamers.)

Trailboss can’t be serious: “Perspective. Reaction appropriate to the threat. Don’t start a war over words.” Sorry to disagree but this is more than words, it’s vandalism. What would you have said if these goons had encountered the owners of the cars and gotten physical with them?…Wait a minute, these types are pussies, right up there with Sir Robin. Nevermind.

True. But also irrelevant. Canucks, Brits, Kiwis and Aussies spell defense with a “c.” Dead giveaway.

Wake up people we don’t have a clue how desperate for power these people are and how much money, domestic and foreign that is behind them. This election will be our Pearl Harbor if McCain gets shot down again. There will be no prisoners this time.

He looked at me like I was quite mad.

CCRWM on October 2, 2008 at 7:40 PM

Glock’s always an excellent choice…point and pull…I’d go for .45 ACP, though…10mm is also very nice…Uncle Ted Nugent carries 10mm in a Glock…among other things….

For the other, get a rifle…check out Alexander Arms offerings in .50 cal. Beowulf. The web page has a dandy little YouTube video, and American Rifleman did a nice writeup on it…the last home defense caliber you’d like to p*ss off….

…personally, I like the people I shoot to know they’ve been shot…it simplifies things….

SWMBO is upset so I guess I am off till after the debate. But TB, my serious point was not really about fighting back for property damage. All kidding aside, I’d never even consider hurting someone over that.

(Although, the kind of property damage you’re sure will occur when you see three or four gentleman digging holes in MSR Tampa at midnight always will result in calling your AH64 buddies to rain some 30mm preventive medicine on their asses).

ManlyRash on October 2, 2008 at 7:46 PM

…I’ve been there maybe half dozen times…the wife and family and I lived there 1995-1998, in time to catch Diana snuff it…our youngest son was born about a half mile from where Oliver Cromwell was born…in a hospital built on the grounds of his uncle’s estate….

…I know the feeling…I visited the British Museum on a lark one day, day off and nothing to do. British Rail makes things easy. I was about 10 feet from the Sutton Hoo treasure, was talking to the wife on my cell phone, turned ’round, and there was a famous pre-Viking ships figurehead…I’d seen it in books from my childhood on up….

…visited the HMS Victory and walked the decks…visited Battle Abbey and walked the Hastings Battlefield…lived down the road from the remains of what was once one of the most powerful monasteries in England…walked streets originally laid out by Romans…toured an excavated Anglo-Saxon village….

…Gettysburg is nice…Williamsburg is very nice…touring the Alamo is a near-religious experience…but, for a history junkie, there’s no comparison. By the time that the Mayflower landed, they were putting on the umpteenth coat of whitewash on some of the houses I used to pass up every day in Huntingdon…and they’re still being used as family homes. In the US, they’d be roped off with scads of verrrrrry-sincere and very pompous self-appointed volunteer conservators sweating all over ‘em….

…ever hear of the poem “The Battle of Maldon”? It is an Anglo-Saxon recreation of the actual battle…and I touched the place where the losing commander was buried…before the guys who took delight in knocking the noses off of statues had their go at Ely Cathedral….

…St. Paul’s Cathedral…monuments to Nelson, Wellington, Florence Nightingale, John Donne, Wren…”Lector, si monumentum requiris, Circumspice.”….

…took a leak in the downstairs restroom here…historical….

The European Commission have just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the EU rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, Her Majesty’s Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5 year phase in plan that would be known as “EuroEnglish”: –

In the first year, “s” will replace the soft “c”.. Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard “c” will be dropped in favor of the “k”. This should klear up konfusion and keyboards kan have 1 less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year, when the troublesome “ph” will be replaced with the “f”. This will make words like “fotograf” 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkorage the removal of double letters, which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horible mes of the silent “e”‘s in the languag is disgrasful, and they should go away.

By the 4th yer, peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing “th” with “z” and “w” with “v”. During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary “o” kan be dropd from vords kontaining “ou” and similar changes vud of kors be aplid to ozer kombinations of leters.

After zis fifz yer, ve vil hav a reli sensibl riten styl. Zer vil be no mor trubls or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu understand ech ozer.
