A few people have e-mailed to say that the livestream in Ed’s open thread complicates comment discussion by slowing refresh times, so here’s a no-frills alternative. Take your pick.
While we wait for the main event, “enjoy” the last installment in her series with Couric. They saved a doozy for the finale.
Game face!

She is awesome so far!
jencab on October 2, 2008 at 9:10 PM
Call me crazy, but i didn’t think that latest cbs video was as damaging as her bumbling answer on the bailout. In fact i see nothing wrong with it.
mainmann on October 2, 2008 at 9:10 PM
They are out there. Lenders selling house to illegals w/out papers etc. Lots of blame to go around.
Spirit of 1776 on October 2, 2008 at 9:10 PM
On Hewitt’s interview she got better and better and time went on. 90 minutes is a long time.
Cindy Munford on October 2, 2008 at 9:10 PM
So far so good. I’ve said this before. She hasn’t made a single GAFFE in over a month on the major political scene. She’s not going to make any tonight. She’s been hesitant and uncomfortable, but hasn’t said a single thing that contradicts McCain.
jimmy the notable on October 2, 2008 at 9:10 PM
NOT JUST THE LENDERS>>>>but JANET RENO!!!
seejanemom on October 2, 2008 at 9:10 PM

I’m glad Ifill gets to decide when the questions have been answered properly.
Moderate, Gwen…
richardj on October 2, 2008 at 9:11 PM
Barry warned?
tehd on October 2, 2008 at 9:11 PM
2 years ago b.o. warned about sub primes? from where the state senate?
anna on October 2, 2008 at 9:11 PM
As Dennis Miller said on O’Reilly last night – Palin should, at this point, hold up a galley copy of Ifill’s book and ask her to autograph it.
uncivilized on October 2, 2008 at 9:11 PM
When did Barack Obama warn against a subprime crisis?
ctmom on October 2, 2008 at 9:11 PM
She’s looking directly in the camera and talking to the people. And it’s a positive and hopeful message and it’s plain spoken. She’s doing very well.
CanadianGuy on October 2, 2008 at 9:11 PM
Missed opportunity. Who’s telling the truth on what Biden is saying? Obama has never had an opinion on anything other than extorting money.
BuckeyeSam on October 2, 2008 at 9:12 PM
Obama was a friggin’ ACORN lawyer who helped bring this whole problem on!
techno_barbarian on October 2, 2008 at 9:12 PM

InTheBellyoftheBeast on October 2, 2008 at 9:14 PM
Awww, I was hoping she’d blame Barney Frank. Nuts.
heypally on October 2, 2008 at 9:14 PM
…Sarah looks tight…needs to warm to the format…and she hasn’t much time….
…Joe looks less so…he’s solid in this format…his ambition has taken him to the top-spot party nomination debates for a coon’s age, so he’s an old campaigner….
…so, Sarah’s gotta get nasty…heat, girl…throw him the heater….
Puritan1648 on October 2, 2008 at 9:14 PM
love the shots of him snickering
SCGOPgirl on October 2, 2008 at 9:14 PM
The tax argument goes nowhere.

Did Hair plugs just dis the free market?
InTheBellyoftheBeast on October 2, 2008 at 9:14 PM
McCain’s team is blowing this! Stop playing populist – fight already!
If she doesn’t start laying blows – it’s done. Forget about 10 points ahead, it’ll be 15 next week. The Dems, liars that they are, are at least fighting. McCain ain’t doing squat.
dugan on October 2, 2008 at 9:14 PM
get him sarah!
SCGOPgirl on October 2, 2008 at 9:14 PM
Deregulation! Biden get off it already

Is this what she is supposed to be saying? I’m not gettin’ it.
dmarie on October 2, 2008 at 9:15 PM
She can’t get too partisan and blame the Dems, they still want to pass that bill.
Cindy Munford on October 2, 2008 at 9:15 PM
Good start by Palin. But why doesn’t she talk about the Community Reinvestment Act. And more about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Dodd and Frank
EnglishMike on October 2, 2008 at 9:15 PM
I wish she WOULD answer that deregulation question and tell the truth. The dems were the ones standing in the way of regulation. Talk about barney fwank and dodd.
techno_barbarian on October 2, 2008 at 9:15 PM
Oh god, she just wont answer the question.
muyoso on October 2, 2008 at 9:15 PM

ctmom on October 2, 2008 at 9:15 PM

ikez78 on October 2, 2008 at 9:15 PM
Time to be patriotic and get in the game, Gwen.
carbon_footprint on October 2, 2008 at 9:15 PM
How hard is it for her to talk about the banking reform bill he sponsored?
Mark1971 on October 2, 2008 at 9:15 PM
…she needs to stop thinking and start talking…talk to the people…stop trying to impress…screw what’s riding on this one…be Sarah!
Puritan1648 on October 2, 2008 at 9:16 PM
Just keep smiling that smarmy smile, Uncle Joe! You look like a snake!
anniekc on October 2, 2008 at 9:16 PM

Yes…she called him out on it! Redistribution.
SouthernGent on October 2, 2008 at 9:17 PM
middle class is NOT the economic engine,
why the hell is this “tax the rich” garbage allowed to be gotten away with over and over and over?
ikez78 on October 2, 2008 at 9:17 PM
She called him on redistribution. That’s good
church on October 2, 2008 at 9:17 PM

carbon_footprint on October 2, 2008 at 9:17 PM
