A few people have e-mailed to say that the livestream in Ed’s open thread complicates comment discussion by slowing refresh times, so here’s a no-frills alternative. Take your pick.

While we wait for the main event, “enjoy” the last installment in her series with Couric. They saved a doozy for the finale.

Game face!

Palin just won this election for McCain.
The moderator was excellent, totally unbiased.
Biden did well for how much class warfare you can pitch.

Going over to MSNBC to see how much crap they can throw at Sarah. They’re done……

Gwen Ifill did a decent job as well.

I am going to take back half the things I said about her.

anna on October 2, 2008 at 10:41 PM

The distorted, false media portrait of Palin died tonight. People will have to reevaluate the slime coming out of the msm. She was magnificent. The msm needed her to be a fool. She wasn’t. Their lies are pretty clear to anybody but the moonbats.

nocomme1 on October 2, 2008 at 10:41 PM

I liked Joe’s “tearful moment”.

GarandFan on October 2, 2008 at 10:33 PM
He lost his family, it was a truthful moment, let it be.

Over.

1GooDDaDDy on October 2, 2008 at 10:39 PM

Yes. I am sure it must have struck him on the stage at some point that his loved ones could not see him there. I’m not going to question his choke up moment.

Gwen Ifill: A
Palin: A-
Biden: C+

carbon_footprint on October 2, 2008 at 10:41 PM

Wow. The judgments here and among the talking heads are so different from mine, I gotta wonder if we saw the
same performance.

Let me ask it this way, for those who think Palin did a great job. Try to imagine any of the other Republican candidates for President in her place. The ones you’ve seen in primary debates. Giuliani, Romney, Huckabee, Thompson, etc. Isn’t it obvious that any one
of them would have completely eclipsed Palin’s effort here?

Rev Snow on October 2, 2008 at 10:41 PM

If Sarah got the edge over a thirty five year Senator it is seismic win.

She connected to middle-class people; Biden not so much.

Huckabee is pretty smooth. The others – not.

I think Governor Palin did fine. It was clear she is not well-versed on some material, unsurprisingly.

I saw no Grand Slam, but she did well esp. as she loosened up.

SlimyBill on October 2, 2008 at 10:44 PM

The real loser of this debate may be the mainstream media. They have desperately tried to paint her as a country bumpkin or worse, be selectively editing her interviews with them to make her look bad. Goebbels would be proud of them.

When she got a chance to go head to head with her opponent for over an hour without them being able to edit it, they were screwed.
