A few people have e-mailed to say that the livestream in Ed’s open thread complicates comment discussion by slowing refresh times, so here’s a no-frills alternative. Take your pick.
While we wait for the main event, “enjoy” the last installment in her series with Couric. They saved a doozy for the finale.
Game face!

Listen to her experience shining through! Good stuff
Ordinary1 on October 2, 2008 at 10:26 PM
She could have used this moment to address the Bridge, but no biggie. Her answer about not caring who gets teh credit was good.
Spirit of 1776 on October 2, 2008 at 10:26 PM
Wow…Bork would’ve made Whoopi a slave again.
SouthernGent on October 2, 2008 at 10:26 PM
Sarah…… did a great job.. Joe is happy there’s only one debate.. hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
theeyeman3410 on October 2, 2008 at 10:26 PM
Sorry Joe, you just got pwned.
Tacitus on October 2, 2008 at 10:26 PM
I feel vindicated. Booo to all of you doubters!
gator70 on October 2, 2008 at 10:27 PM
How many times has Ifill let Biden rebut, but not Palin. Palin’s had to add on her rebuts at the beginning of the next answer.
4shoes on October 2, 2008 at 10:27 PM
McCain’s funding is about to go through the roof. Sarah is doing a fantastic job.
techno_barbarian on October 2, 2008 at 10:27 PM
Bye Partisanship? Good luck with that
Ordinary1 on October 2, 2008 at 10:27 PM
I’ve never heard a less articulate moderator.
Jaibones on October 2, 2008 at 10:27 PM
controvertious?
anniekc on October 2, 2008 at 10:27 PM
who cares JOE
custer on October 2, 2008 at 10:27 PM
Ifill has been fair and any borderline gotcha questions Palin was well prepped for.
CanadianGuy on October 2, 2008 at 10:27 PM
How? Berate Dodd and Frank.
BuckeyeSam on October 2, 2008 at 10:28 PM
Which means McCain will lose by a little less? What’s the point. She needed to be the pitbull she has a reputation for, not this nice, “across the aile” McCain niceguy bullsh*t.
It is unforgivable that this campaign has just not destroyed the Dems over the bailout issue.
ClassicCon on October 2, 2008 at 10:28 PM
Sarah is a hero. MSM a bunch of ZEROs
Ordinary1 on October 2, 2008 at 10:28 PM

sarah will pound this

james23 on October 2, 2008 at 10:28 PM
Gen Ifil has done a credible job. For the first time in my adult life I’m proud . . .
JonPrichard on October 2, 2008 at 10:28 PM
Just got in (don’t ask) — Overall: HOW IS SHE DOING???
D2Boston on October 2, 2008 at 10:28 PM
McCain’s funding is about to go through the roof. Sarah is doing a fantastic job.
techno_barbarian on October 2, 2008 at 10:27 PM
Yup and money talks
InTheBellyoftheBeast on October 2, 2008 at 10:28 PM
Joe you’re all about partisanship. You have no interest in working across the aisle.
Respect? You, Gaffy Duck? Bwhahaahahaha!
techno_barbarian on October 2, 2008 at 10:28 PM
Guys… I don’t like the guy, but chocking on remembering his dead family is understandibe
Over.
1GooDDaDDy on October 2, 2008 at 10:28 PM
Even if he has to interrupt rudely. More Obama tactics.

\LOL
carbon_footprint on October 2, 2008 at 10:28 PM
It’s really hard to concentrate on what Biden’s saying – he’s like rhetorical anti-matter…
EnglishMike on October 2, 2008 at 10:28 PM
Who on earth told him that? His wife?
Jaibones on October 2, 2008 at 10:28 PM
Great finish!!!
Static21 on October 2, 2008 at 10:29 PM
sarah is doing a great job of bringing her experience as governor to the fore; also her family
she hammers taxes again
very strong last answer
james23 on October 2, 2008 at 10:29 PM
DON’T QUESTION MOTIVES!!!
That is PRECISELY why Washington is the problem, not the solution, Joe.
What an absolute idiot.
LegendHasIt on October 2, 2008 at 10:29 PM
Joe yada yada yada yada
theeyeman3410 on October 2, 2008 at 10:29 PM
BRILLIANCE
Sir Andrew on October 2, 2008 at 10:29 PM
That look she shot at Biden there was SWEET!
econavenger on October 2, 2008 at 10:29 PM
I’ve noticed a pattern. He attacks McCain and Palin only when he knows that he’s going to get the next question and Palin isn’t going to get a chance to respond. Otherwise he talks like he’s yawning.
Jewels on October 2, 2008 at 10:29 PM
Closing statement time.
jimmy the notable on October 2, 2008 at 10:29 PM
She totally controlled the debate and was strongest in the foreign policy segment if you can believe it.
CanadianGuy on October 2, 2008 at 10:29 PM
Walk the walk. Policies speak for themselves. Contrasting again! She is Reagen-esk w/communicating to We the People!

james23 on October 2, 2008 at 10:30 PM
So Biden gets the opening statement and the closing statement? And most of the last words?
Hmmm…

LOL…Katie Couric slam.
SouthernGent on October 2, 2008 at 10:30 PM

custer on October 2, 2008 at 10:30 PM
THANK YOU PALIN FOR THIS!!!!
jencab on October 2, 2008 at 10:30 PM
she needs to say “I am sure Joe’s intentions are well but the effects of big government liberal policies lose peoples jobs and get people hurt”
ikez78 on October 2, 2008 at 10:30 PM
He’s louder than anyone else – I guess, since he’s shouting above them, he assumes they respect him.
uncivilized on October 2, 2008 at 10:30 PM
McCain is still on the top of the ticket. He goes nowhere unless he starts laying the blame for the credit crisis at the feet of Frank, Dodd, and the other Dem. Short, straightforward, and right in the face.
BuckeyeSam on October 2, 2008 at 10:30 PM
Wow. Telling the lamestream media off.
SWEET
madmonkphotog on October 2, 2008 at 10:30 PM
WTF????????????????
He goes first ALL NIGHT LONG and now she has to give her final statement FIRST?
HE KEEPS GETTING THE LAST WORD!

Spirit of 1776 on October 2, 2008 at 10:30 PM
WOW I love her!!! Amazing finish
econavenger on October 2, 2008 at 10:30 PM
Aw-fil has been a joke. She as not attempted to call Lydin out and has allowed him to bloviate throughout the debate.
cyclown on October 2, 2008 at 10:30 PM
“Freedom is never more than a generation away from extinction”
She has killed it. Brilliant.
El_Terrible on October 2, 2008 at 10:31 PM
Perhaps Sarah should give McCain some debate lessons before his next appearance.
uncivilized on October 2, 2008 at 10:31 PM

Sarahcuda is the answer to McCain’s problems. Not once, but twice!
Ordinary1 on October 2, 2008 at 10:31 PM
RAce card coming?
SouthernGent on October 2, 2008 at 10:31 PM
*channeling the Drive-By media*
Comrades: tonight the Palin woman made a valiant effort but it was in vain. Our hero, Joe Biden, annihilated her in the debate. No details are necessary….take our word for it. The One will progress toward victory.
ManlyRash on October 2, 2008 at 10:31 PM
JOe is about to cry…
theeyeman3410 on October 2, 2008 at 10:31 PM
You are correct! I just mean those who have wrung their hands and fretted about Sarah over the past week.

I do hate Marxists …

JonPrichard on October 2, 2008 at 10:32 PM

repvoter on October 2, 2008 at 10:32 PM
She’s middle class and the other three are rich. Can it, Biden
Blake on October 2, 2008 at 10:32 PM
I have to admit that aside from his outlandish lies, he has done better than I thought he would – got his impulsive side under control
He is a lying sack of bailout bill though.
InTheBellyoftheBeast on October 2, 2008 at 10:32 PM
…as they sum up:
Biden was likable in spots…but he was just another well-polished pol…35 years in the Senate, he looked like what he is: an insider.
Sarah done good!
Puritan1648 on October 2, 2008 at 10:32 PM
Oh OH Joe’s talking about HIMSELF… yada yada yada
theeyeman3410 on October 2, 2008 at 10:32 PM
Blah, Blah, Blah….gloom and doom…..that is all the dems can produce.
Now Sarah ……….positive, positive, positive will always win the day.
We will win in Nov.!!!!!!!
