A few people have e-mailed to say that the livestream in Ed’s open thread complicates comment discussion by slowing refresh times, so here’s a no-frills alternative. Take your pick.
While we wait for the main event, “enjoy” the last installment in her series with Couric. They saved a doozy for the finale.
Game face!

ROTFLMAO – yeah, Biden, your weakness is your excessive passion. It’s not your tendency to gaffe your ass off. Nope. Not at all.

Dude, how do guys NOT understand that these lies will never be exposed outside of this board and I promise by the beginning of next week polls will show that either Biden won or it was a tie. I think some of you are getting caught up in the Palin-love comments circle jerk to see the bigger picture.

SouthernGent on October 2, 2008 at 10:21 PM
Excellent answer, Sarah.
Biden, you suck. America is tired of you leftists running us down. Screw you. We can’t vote your asses out quick enough.

I like Biden, but not his politics. I like Sarahcuda and she is right on so many issues!!!
Ordinary1 on October 2, 2008 at 10:21 PM
Biden plays the death card. But let’s talk about that house purchase. He got one of those sweetheart deals from a constituent.
BuckeyeSam on October 2, 2008 at 10:22 PM
omg joe is fake crying and using his child’s death for votes. very very low point.

What is going on with his forehead? It looks like his wrinkles were ironed out! He looks like someone out of Dantes Inferno.
Fuquay Steve on October 2, 2008 at 10:22 PM
Here he goes with the sob stories.
ErinF on October 2, 2008 at 10:22 PM
Joe choking back tears!!! What a complete and total fraud. I don’t think Kinnock ever cried in his lifestory so why is Biden?
cyclown on October 2, 2008 at 10:22 PM
*CHOKE*Joe
Benjamin9 on October 2, 2008 at 10:22 PM
Did I hear her call him Obiden? like that.
Is the general in Afghanistan named McClellen? I’m sure he must be better than the last Gen. McClellen.
Joe is smooth BS. Sarah is a class act with waay better judgment.
Buck Turgidson on October 2, 2008 at 10:22 PM
Joe used the sex card… wooo is me I’m a man. ekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

AUINSC on October 2, 2008 at 10:22 PM
Achilles heel question: why should I tell you, you’re writing a book about obama?
clnurnberg on October 2, 2008 at 10:22 PM
Sarah comes accross as very likeable
Biden does not.
jp on October 2, 2008 at 10:22 PM
Joe’s been through a lot. I respect him for the way he handled it. The MSM should give Sarahcuda half the credit they gave him.
Ordinary1 on October 2, 2008 at 10:23 PM
ARticle 1, section 3, references VP as President of Senate. He’s wrong the VP only breaks ties, but it wouldn’t be a gaffe to cite Art. 1 for VP in exec. (I was thinking that might be something, too.)
Tommygun on October 2, 2008 at 10:23 PM
If nothing else- we, the base, have had our faith restored.
anniekc on October 2, 2008 at 10:23 PM
She WON THIS DEBATE….
theeyeman3410 on October 2, 2008 at 10:23 PM

“He hasn’t been no maverick.”
You’re right Joe, he has been a maverick.
jimmy the notable on October 2, 2008 at 10:23 PM
Use it Sarah. Use the fact that he said he’d be proud to run with John McCain.
capitalist piglet on October 2, 2008 at 10:23 PM
I couldn’t watch but what has been said is good so far. My gosh, is she now being asked to carry the campaign? What the hey is wrong with McCain? Maybe we need some of those old torture artists to help him with his enthusiasm. I wish Mitt had been the candidate, Obuma would be on the floor permanently. Mitt/Palin, thats the ticket.
AReadyRepub on October 2, 2008 at 10:23 PM
…and on cue….
Puritan1648 on October 2, 2008 at 10:23 PM
ok, now bring up Biden/Obama earmarks with budget, vs. McCain’s record

Biden pulling one of the Bill Clinton sympathy shticks.
Guardian on October 2, 2008 at 10:23 PM
No maverick? Cuts the troops off? Not going to fly.
econavenger on October 2, 2008 at 10:24 PM
Political insiders will be struck by how many times Biden lied about and attacked his long time Senate friend McCain, while he claims the he “loves him”. He is a scumbag.
Political outsiders will be struck by what a prick he is.
Oh, and here he goes! He’s lost it!
Jaibones on October 2, 2008 at 10:24 PM
lol, exactly.
Django on October 2, 2008 at 10:24 PM
George Bush.
I wish I had a shot of Jim Beam for every time I’ve heard Biden say that.
uncivilized on October 2, 2008 at 10:24 PM
That’s right, Joe- just keep going nasty and negative. It doesn’t become you.
anniekc on October 2, 2008 at 10:24 PM
has he forgotten the war, natural disasters, aid to other countries?
madmonkphotog on October 2, 2008 at 10:24 PM
Joe attacks the Maverick! Jumping in. Not sure he’s scoring points on this, but maybe. Lying about the war doesn’t help Biden’s cause.
Ordinary1 on October 2, 2008 at 10:24 PM
He is frothing at the mouth…
Static21 on October 2, 2008 at 10:24 PM
I’ve done the same thing.

Joe is desperate. He reeks of desperation and fear. And he should.
techno_barbarian on October 2, 2008 at 10:25 PM
True, but those who had jumped off the Palin train will be much more likely to jump back on board.

madmonkphotog on October 2, 2008 at 10:25 PM

jimmy the notable on October 2, 2008 at 10:26 PM
Asshole borking Bork.
BuckeyeSam on October 2, 2008 at 10:26 PM
He was horrible in the judiciary committee. Everyone should listen to what Mark Levin said this evening.

Yes, she’s been fine. Very similar to the Lehrer approach.
Connie on October 2, 2008 at 10:26 PM
Anyone out there counting the minutes on this thing, I feel like Biden is getting a lot more air time, I wouldn’t mind, but he usually gets the last word.
El_Terrible on October 2, 2008 at 10:26 PM
Oh yeah, Joe, remind us that you led the fight against Judge Bork. What a hatchet job was done on that good man. You should be ashamed!
