Open thread: Armageddon
posted at 8:27 pm on October 2, 2008 by Allahpundit
A few people have e-mailed to say that the livestream in Ed’s open thread complicates comment discussion by slowing refresh times, so here’s a no-frills alternative. Take your pick.
While we wait for the main event, “enjoy” the last installment in her series with Couric. They saved a doozy for the finale.
Game face!

Biden wants to build schools along the border along with 7,00 madrasas? LOL!!! Talk about a bridge to nowhere! First, who and how are we going to build the schools? Good luck finding non-extremists to do it. Then, where are you going to find teachers that are non-extremists? By Biden’s logic (and likely inaccurate numbers as a base), we would have a whole bunch more than 7,000 madrasas in the end.
He still thinks we can talk to these people.
MarkABinVA on October 2, 2008 at 9:52 PM
OMG bidens pants are on fire!
custer on October 2, 2008 at 9:52 PM
Palin is in total control of this debate and has had Biden on the defensive for the past half hour.
CanadianGuy on October 2, 2008 at 9:52 PM
Israel is still there. No America? Russia, for the win.
Spirit of 1776 on October 2, 2008 at 9:52 PM
we need to “talk to iran”
that’s worked out just great joe
ikez78 on October 2, 2008 at 9:52 PM
Biden blew that one…big time.
He lied.

Israel IS our strongest and best ally. We WILL support Israel. Two state solution is a mistake, though.
Ordinary1 on October 2, 2008 at 9:52 PM
Gov. Palin keeps taking biden to the woodshed.
madmonkphotog on October 2, 2008 at 9:52 PM
israel-palestine
sarah–2 states is the solution
israel is our strongest and best; we will support israel; build our embassy in jerusalem
she is better than joe, younger, less experienced and WAY better

custer on October 2, 2008 at 9:53 PM
does joe really think him declaring someone or something a failure that it is so?
ikez78 on October 2, 2008 at 9:53 PM
Palin is holding her own. She came to play.
Will McCain get off the bipartisanship bull and wrap the current crisis around Obama’s neck.
Biden just used the third person for himself.
BuckeyeSam on October 2, 2008 at 9:53 PM
“something to that effect”…don’t ya listen to the questions?
uncivilized on October 2, 2008 at 9:53 PM
I got to say it! She is hot right now (no silly, not that type of hot). She is being strong on foreign policy
lsutiger on October 2, 2008 at 9:53 PM
…and how can you have any coherent Middle East policy when you’re hamstrung by the Democratic Party, the “zionism is racism” crowd not only in the UN but on college campuses (who’re also Obama supporters), and our anti-Semitic EU allies (like France)?
Puritan1648 on October 2, 2008 at 9:53 PM
Well, color me impressed with Palin! Maybe we can attribute it to the Vatican calling out the “Death Party” today?? :)
MarkABinVA on October 2, 2008 at 9:53 PM
last year, obama essentially told Israel they have to accept the Palestinians.

sarah can’t be too much of the bush admin defender. she and mac should go their own way on this
james23 on October 2, 2008 at 9:54 PM
Two things:
- Do you think it’s fun for Joe, knowing that he can go up there and just make up stupid shit, and no one is going to call him on it, or remember it in two day?
- Do you think it’s just killing him that he’s on the debate stage with a leftist moderator, and rank rookie on the other podium, and he’s getting absolutely nowhere?
Jaibones on October 2, 2008 at 9:54 PM
What the hell is he on about?
We kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon along with France????!!!!
Too bad Sarah probably won’t know enough to call him on it
EnglishMike on October 2, 2008 at 9:54 PM

ikez78 on October 2, 2008 at 9:54 PM
what’s that dot on biden’s head?
madmonkphotog on October 2, 2008 at 9:54 PM
the only problem with biden lying is that the press will give him a pas, he can say whatever he wants, truth, lie, whatever..

SouthernGent on October 2, 2008 at 9:55 PM
…Joe’s talking as if he and his party have been sealed in carbonite during the Bush Administration…it’s all their fault that “Iran’s on the march”…they were too busy screwing up the mortgage market to deal with Iran, I suppose….
Joe’s losing his cool….
Puritan1648 on October 2, 2008 at 9:55 PM
finger pointing backwards …
wonderful line.
yo on October 2, 2008 at 9:55 PM
In your face, BIDEN!!
anniekc on October 2, 2008 at 9:55 PM
You know, it strikes me as quite interesting that on this foreign policy stuff the little governor from a small little state is not only holding her own but going toe to toe with a 35 year senate veteran!
JonPrichard on October 2, 2008 at 9:55 PM
Palin is amazing.
CanadianGuy on October 2, 2008 at 9:55 PM

So, was the Couric interview an intentional train wreck, to lower debate performance expectations? Because this does not look like the same woman.
Go Sarah!
