I’m an outsider, (from DC) who moved here a few years ago and I have observed that Minnesotans have a wicked lack of self-esteem. They hate that they are considered “Flyover Country,” they are extremely offended when you point out that they have an accent, (while in the meantime they make fun of Southern accents and think they are better than Southerners altogether,) and they copy whatever L.A. does (smoking ban, gas taxes etc.) because they mistakenly think it makes them sophisticated. So they vote for these crazy politicians: Jesse Ventura, Keith Ellison, (he’s the first Muslim in Congress!!!) Al Franken et. al, to get attention. Yes, there are “normal” people in MN – I married one – but most of them live in Washington County.

I have no idea what’s going on in Minnesota. Franken’s history is well documented, he should have been laughed at for even running. People scoff at Palin and falsely moan about her “lack” of experience but this clown doesn’t have ANY experience except attempting poor comedy.

Electing a muslim Congressman with very clear ties to radical islam, muslims pushing their agendas and winning and Al Franken … what the hell is up with Minnesota?

I voted for Jesse V as a protest against the weak field from both parties back in the day. I thought I was throwing my vote away, but instead I helped Ventura get in.
You third party Bob Barr wishalongs-take it from me: if there is even a small chance that Barr will get enough votes to weaken McCain so that Obama gets in, ala Clinton/Bush 41/Perot…you will have a lot on your conscience.
As for Franken…I think that the people of Minnesota are smarter than to elect him, but anyone with a “D” after his name has a shot. Even when a lot of Dems wanted someone, anyone else.
A vote for Coleman is a vote against insanity.
