Video: Celebrities get out the vote for celebrity

posted at 9:50 pm on October 1, 2008 by Allahpundit
Share on Facebook | printer-friendly

Via JWF, it’s same M.O. as the Paltrow ad: There’s no explicit endorsement of either candidate but everyone knows who they’re all voting for.

Why are these cretinous celebrity GOTV spots always 3-5 times as long as they should be? Face time demands?

You can literally register while pooping.

That’s as far as I made it. If I ever hear one of these people ever call Sarah Palin dumb……..

Thanks battle, I was just about to say that morons who don’t do any of the basic research and then try to “act” like they have a clue drives me nuts. I loathe them all.

Helloooooo socialism creep.

I agree with that statement, but that’s what my church is for… the ‘taking care of’.

Govt shalt not touch my health care… as much as bluecrossbluesheild stinks, i’ll take them over the PostOffice-DMV version of health care any day

Take note of the one moron’s Keffiyeh.

What do they mention? Gay rights, abortion rights, gun control, universal health care, etc.. Part of the left’s GOTV effort.

i dont care if mccain governs as his usual moderate dem or as a repub, just PLEASE PLEASE win on nov 4th. outright. i will tivo as many newscasts as i can and every ‘leno’ and ‘letterman’ celebrity ‘interview’ for the week after that.

i dont like ’schadenfruede’, but MAN i can’t wait to see the ‘looks on their faces’

battleoflepanto1571 on October 1, 2008 at 9:58 PM

Shaming people to vote. Scaring people to vote.

There is something severely wrong with a party that has to beg people to vote year after year.

If they are not smart enough to know they should vote, should they really be voting?

freedomplow on October 1, 2008 at 9:59 PM

I especially like the guy who had to have that paper in his hand to read off “1st Amendment, 2nd Amendment”. Thanks for chiming in, deeply intellectual class!

What human, insect, or speck would give a damn what the most obnoxious person in existence, Ashton Kutcher, thinks. I didn’t make it past 15 seconds.

Marcus on October 1, 2008 at 10:01 PM

They’re obviously speaking to the crowd who worships them. The dumbed-down, doped-out, apathetic crowd who had to be told 100 times to “get a job” by their parents – before moving out and then moving back in and using the basement to smoke dope with their friends. AND THEY STILL WON’T VOTE!!

warriorlawyer on October 1, 2008 at 10:01 PM

Gee, now I don’t feel so bad about all those booteg DVDs.

If Ashton Kutcher supported McCain, I’d be joining the Obama children’s choir this minute.

Marcus on October 1, 2008 at 10:02 PM

OMG! I wasn’t going to vote until I saw this video. Thanks for reminding that I need to vote.

I’m totally going vote for Bush/Cheney Nov. 2!

Ugh. I hate insufferable celebrities. Shut UP!

Topsecretk9 on October 1, 2008 at 10:03 PM

If history is any indicator, they never really succeed getting out the vote. And since at least one of them has never bothered to register, they expose themselves for the dopes they really are.

“reading, literacy?!?”

Yup, cuz the President has the power to make our kids read good and do other stuff good too.

libertytexan on October 1, 2008 at 10:04 PM

Gay rights

can i ask an honest question? other than gay marriage, what ‘civil rights’ are denied to gays currently? i assume that hospitals let partners come and visit (or at least i was if i was on duty), that’s just the right thing to do. also, any will or contract can specify who gets what at one partner’s passing.

i hate the phrase ‘civil rights’ because it makes it sound like gays can’t vote or have free speech. i’m not at all one of those types muttering to bring back those stupid sodomy laws, i just would like to know what “civil rights” are missing gays, other than a church saying “we, the southern baptists recognize you as married under God”

Am I missing something? seriously? last time i checked the right honorable rep. frank had full access to destroy fannie, freddie, and supposedly the modern banking system, and barney’s been ‘out’ since the 1970s.

i just don’t get the ‘civil rights’ bit. where i’m from, my gay friends and straight friends and myself are fully able to use the same water fountains and the same parts of a movie theater………

I…I…feel much better now…thank you Hollywood.

Over.

Wow – so many juvenile attacks … grow up.

At the end of the day, the more people that vote, the better. We have a TERRIBLE record in voter turnout (and while that may be partially for having it on a non-holiday Tuesday), asking people to vote is a good idea.

A Axe on October 1, 2008 at 10:06 PM

can i ask an honest question? other than gay marriage, what ‘civil rights’ are denied to gays currently?

duh? They have their right to their piece of the special interest pie!

But in all seriousness, people should be offended by comparisons of the gay rights movement to the civil rights movement back in the 60s. And I say that as someone who is pro gay marriage (well anti any government marriage).

Well it ring more genuine and honest if most of the people in this video didn’t already state which Party they want to win.

maybe, but this is a (very) thinly vieled attempt to get OBAMA voters.

ashton kutcher and demi moore were screaming about mccain and iowa U the last week.

laura linney (literacy?) bashed palin at the emmys

leo, forrest whitaker, et al were in that stupid “yes we can part 2 – PRAYER TO OBAMA” worship vid

sarah silverman has another stupid obama vid on funnyordie.com threatnening not to visit any jewish grandparents unless FLorida goes to “O”

hallie barry (’this is for dorothy!’ ad nauseum) has made her political views (wacko) well known

i wouldnt mind if they had someone that wasnt IN THE TANK

or to put it another way, how about a PSA with Hannity, OReilly, Glenn Beck, and Rush saying “go vote!” do you honestly think the left would say ‘what a great idea, increase the voters!”

battleoflepanto1571 on October 1, 2008 at 10:10 PM

I’m gonna play the libertarian card here again…

If you can’t get off your f*cking fat ass and go to one of the thousands of places appointed, fill out a single piece of paper, then go back in November and punch a few button, poke some holes in a card, pull a lever, etc. Then I agree with DeCrapia, DON’T VOTE, ASSHOLE! Because if you can’t muster that much energy, then it is likely you have know idea what the right means, you haven’t learned a thing, and your just a Cause-head and are voting because you think Obama is cute, or you need to save the polar bears (puleese), or because you’ve heard on the web like 1,000,000,000 times that Bush is an idiot. Anyway, do everyone a favor and go have a latte instead. Here, I’ll even buy it for you.

Personally, if it gets to the point that you can register and vote while taking a dump, I quit.

If they did a video saying ‘Go out and vote’ what would you think of an idiot on the left yelling ‘THEY ARE IN THE TANK’ ?

I think that people ought to pass a test before they are allowed to vote! Maybe you could ask them what SCOTUS decision they disagree with.

Vince on October 1, 2008 at 10:24 PM

A Axe on October 2, 2008 at 12:38 AM

I could not watch the whole thing. Toby Maguire. Damn. Oh well. It was offensive. Especially the part where they say “you do know you have to register to vote, right” and the look on their face, as if to say, you are just too stupid to figure this out. Phooey on them.

Glynn on October 2, 2008 at 1:41 AM

Yeah, I know it was silly and stupid and too long and whatever, but it did get me to check out the website they mentioned, and I found out through the web that my voting status is Inactive and I actually do have 4 more days to get registered.

Of course, I couldn’t figure out how to activate myself online, and the best I could do is change my address… I hope that’s good enough.

So, their plan has backfired and one more McCain vote is hopefully going to go through.

askheaves on October 2, 2008 at 1:50 AM
