“I’ve officially been saved, and soon, whether they like it or not, the rest of the country will be too. I will follow him, all the way to the White House, and I’ll be standing there in our nation’s capital in January 2009, when Barack Obama is inaugurated as the 44th president of the United States of America. In the name of Obama, Amen.”

An atheist most likely. Agree, AP? ;)

lorien1973 on October 1, 2008 at 10:43 PM

This really is silly season.

Liberals create movies like “Jesus Camp” to knock personal faith.

But if it’s faith in Obama, then faith is totally cool.

Disgusting and revolting. And, in my view, sacrilege.

lansing quaker on October 1, 2008 at 10:43 PM

whether they like it or not

Yep, that about sums it up.

Obama had beat out squeaky clean southern boy John Edwards

This has to be a parody right? “squeaky clean” John Edwards?

Then I began to realize I wasn’t the only one trying to buy a WWOD bracelet and spending my weekends scouring CNN.com.

If it were real, this would say MSNBC.com

Spirit of 1776 on October 1, 2008 at 10:45 PM

He’s neither fruit nor vegetable! What is this man, they call Obama?

I say parody.

bloggless on October 1, 2008 at 10:46 PM

Perhaps this is parody. I’m not sure.

Parody.

Obama had beat out squeaky clean southern boy John Edwards and former first lady and next in the line of political succession Hillary Clinton.

Trying out for a writing position at The Onion, maybe?

spmat on October 1, 2008 at 10:46 PM

My interest was piqued, but the dark time lived on until my faith in others was renewed on Jan. 4 in the Iowa state primary. Obama had beat out squeaky clean southern boy John Edwards and former first lady and next in the line of political succession Hillary Clinton. I was in shock. And then I came to Jesus/Obama

“Squeaky-clean Silky”?

This guy obviously didn’t do his homework.

Or, (most likely) He lives in an alternate reality where up is down, music has color and pretty bunnies hop all over the place!

Gag me.

Markvike on October 1, 2008 at 10:46 PM

Too… campy maybe? Has to be parody. Has to be.

It’s hard to tell parody from liberal thought these days.

This must be parody, but it is Smith College.

sven10077 on October 1, 2008 at 10:50 PM

Well, satire more likely, as the person who wrote it is probably an Obama supporter. My money is that this is a dig at the commercialization and hyperbole of the Obama phenomenon, detracting from the reality of a quality candidate.

I would say it’s parody based on the digs at Edwards and Clinton, but it’s certainly not very clear.

lorien1973 on October 1, 2008 at 10:47 PM

Actually if I were a lawyer I could prove in court that Obama is intentionally running a religious themed campaign, using Obama’s own words and the official campaign language and graphics. Thus any church is free to directly support or oppose his election on religious grounds.

econavenger on October 1, 2008 at 11:01 PM

Junior is setting himself up for a big let down, first time he finds out that Obama does fart on occasion.

GarandFan on October 1, 2008 at 11:02 PM

Are liberals really this invested in Obama, that they’re deifying him? I mean, we all wonder nowadays how the Roman citizens were able to worship Caesar as a living god, and how the Cult of the Caesars emerged. But human nature doesn’t change. So it could happen again.

I wonder if they really want to go down that road.

wise_man on October 1, 2008 at 11:17 PM

while funny it is also the truth….

I am aghast at all these conservatives acting like we are whipped dogs….

look the joke is that we allowed ourselves to be rolled into McCain…I hope he pulls it out I am not a zealot but this notion that if a half-assed conservative named McCain can’t beat a commie with a media-driven Saturn V booster in his butt it is the end of the world for us is crap….

back when I was 8 years old I had heard my whole life that the US had to make her peace with a USSR dominated world and besides you knuckledragging Yanquis can’t you see their system is, perhaps more moral….

well there was a “washed up failed B movie actor*” who winked at the camera and said “um, no….the trouble with you fools is not you are ignorant it is you know so much that ain’t so…”

We rallied and within 6 years had Ivan on the ropes without having to fire a shot because those commie bastards looked in our eyes and KNEW we’d risk it all to drink their milkshake…..

that is why the leftbots hate us we killed their damned dream so know they are gonna do all they can to malke it work here because they KNOW this is their lat chance or two to do so.

Screw going and fighting with McCain if he tanks it we owe it to ourselves, our kids, and each other to close ranks exert an unstoppable force in the states where we can exert as much real power on a national scale as we can and when the time comes if need be wave goodbye.

It won’t be easy, right seldom is but in our hearts we know we are the ones who are fighting for equality in opportunity and the dreams of class mobility…..

not a bunch of legacy poor and Hollyweird Rich.

We so our best to salvage the narrative for McCain and failing that it is time to get on our gamefaces.

regards,
sven

Jesus Wrote A Blank Check (Starring Barack Obama)

Personal Jesus – The Man in Black

The song was inspired by Priscilla Presley’s book “Elvis and Me.” According to songwriter Martin Gore: It’s a song about being a Jesus for somebody else, someone to give you hope and care. It’s about how Elvis was her man and her mentor and how often that happens in love relationships; how everybody’s heart is like a god in some way, and that’s not a very balanced view of someone, is it?

Oh Obama of Chicareth, won’t you buy me a retirement on the town ?
Prove that you’ll take care of me and buy my next round.
Oh Obama of Chicareth, won’t you buy me that big house on the other side of town that I found?

Once B. Hussein is in office, all pregnancies will be aborted unless proof of the use of Essence o’ Barry for conception – available for purchase at your local Planned O’Parenthood – can be shown.
