She seriously kicked 4ss in the Alaska Gubernatorial debate. It's on cspan -- it took me about an hour to dig around and finally find it. She cleaned up the floor with Murkowski, and he had what, thirty years? of experience.

Even if Palin were not more qualified than Obama or Biden, she has character.
She is honest. She does not LIE & treat people as if they were peons. She does not spread BS when she doesn't know the answer to a ?.
She is not a narcissist. She believes in a kind & loving God. She believes in the sanctity of HUMAN life.
That's all I need.

It is when those are the people you are running against. Slippery Rock winning the national championship against Youngstown State is still a victory even if they would get crushed by the “nitllay” lions.

The Rock is Division II. Y-town is I-AA (or, as the PC NCAA crowd now calls it, "Football Championship Subdivision."

In case you’d forgotten, she reported on TV about sports for awhile. I’ve seen a video of her reportage and she was very much at ease.

YankeeinCA on October 1, 2008 at 11:12 PM

I had not forgot. The difference is audience size and being asked the questions rather than reporting the questions.
Just a casual reading of memoirs of some of the great broadcasters reveals just how incredibly nerve racking making appearances can be. It takes several times.

However because of the videos you mentioned I have complete confidence she will easily make the transition if she gets the necessary time. That is what the left is trying to prevent.

If Ifill had any journalistic integrity the first question she would ask Biden, is 'Sen. Biden how does it feel to be running with a man who has had close personal and professional relationships with unrepentent domestic terrorists, marxists and criminals?"

If you look at Palin’s record she is obviously very smart and skilled. I have never seen the MSM so determined to discredit someone. They have pulled out every stop and make a major negative out of everything related to her.
duff65 on October 1, 2008 at 9:09 PM

The problem is that McCain and Palin have done nothing to prevent the media from savaging her. They gave Palin a crash course in talking points, then sent her out there to unfriendly media, causing her to make lots of goofy-sounding statements that made her look like a jackass.

I mean, Obama has done neutral media (Sunday morning talk shows) and friendly media, but his one and only "hostile" media appearance was O'Reilly, and while Obama didn't melt down, he didn't really shine either. And, Obama has been campaigning for President since practically 2004!

Sarah Palin needs to kick ass tonight for her own political future. Her national brand has been destroyed almost beyond repair. This is her last chance. Win or lose come November, she needs to own Biden to restore her reputation. So, she better bring her A game; giving evasive, goofy answers to questions, accusing Ifill of bias in the debate (as many have suggested she do), and trying to goad the Gaffemaster into saying something dumb are not enough now.

honestly, i want mccain to win. but i never want to see palin as president. ever.

venicesurfer on October 1, 2008 at 8:41 PM

Couldn't disagree more! We need a President who takes bold steps, sets a direction and gets things done: that's why Senators make lousy Presidential candidates! Legislators are conditioned to tolerating interminable arguments which are never resolved, and a mushy environment where constructive action is the exception and the goals are never clear.

I want Palin to win: McCain will make a great Vice-President.

If she and Mac do a good enough job, they'll get to reign in January.

Let Sarah be Sarah… Her raw-ness will be her strength with the “undecideds”.

Voter approval will go through the roof is she drops a few lines like this one from HH:

We have to count on the federal government to be overseeing these agencies and entities, making sure that we’re not going to get screwed on this deal, and that our savings are safe.

I'm glad you highlighted that quote. I just about spit out my beer when I heard that. It's the best damn thing I've heard on credit crisis from any politician. I admit that I've had my ups and downs with Palin over the last few weeks, but there's something "there". She's rough and needs some seasoning in the give and take of political interviews, but she'll learn that. Her insticts are right on though and that's something Obama and Biden are never going to learn.

If she doesn’t, her national political career’s probably over.

But for that comment, I would have buzzed this. Instead, I'd just be providing fodder for HuffPo.

I finally get a day off tomorrow and looking forward to tuning into the MSM version of the St Valentine's Day Massacre. Lock and load, Sarah. Lock and load.

Governor Palin.

I really think those of us on the right should give her the respect she deserves since she is being savaged by the left.

+1 Here here! I think you will see a very independent Sarah Palin tomorrow night. She will set the bar as high and Biden will be marginalized further as a VP that supports the ticket. This will be a defining moment to say the least.

If she sounds like this tomorrow night, she’ll be fine. If she doesn’t, her national political career’s probably over.

I bought a bottle of Jack today, just in case.

Buy a case while you're at it and just start drinking now to save us the aggravation.

By the way, I know you never listened to her speech at the convention.

Instead, what you did, was timed the blog to auto-post right after the convention, with the transcript of her speech and worded it thusly, (while you then promptly "drugged" your worries away):

Here's the transcript.

Did I miss something?

I remember it well and I figured it out later. As a beta male blogger you are very transparent and it doesn't endear viewers to your blog (in case you care).

Dude... is there anyone who hates the liberal media as much as you? I hate them too, but you make me look like a rank amatuer. LOL

If you ever catch one of them in a dark alley, give me a call so I can come and help. I'll give you a 60/40% split on the credit of getting it done.

In case you'd forgotten, she reported on TV about sports for awhile. I've seen a video of her reportage and she was very much at ease.

I know you want to believe.

AP’s a bright guy but his pessimism is getting old.

He donated to Mac after the SP pick. His heart's in it and there's his problem.

What a pessimist. AP's a bright guy but his pessimism is getting old. I think I'll just read Ed's posts & avoid the aggravation.
