Singing the new Gospel of the New Messiah; Update: NBC chief behind the effort? Update: NBC denies

I’m a little sick of the idea of using children to promote political positions and especially candidates, so I’m inclined to look at this kind of effort with a jaundiced eye under any circumstances. However, this video seems even creepier than most. Sing for Change brags about getting 22 children from 5-12 to regurgitate some execrable lyrics as though they had the first clue about the topic of the songs:
Very, very creepy. Leave the children out of it, please.
Update: Another paean to Dear Leader from the children:
Oops! Wrong Dear Leader.
Update II: Sing for Change’s website tells us who created this effort:
As Sunday approached, a neighbor volunteered a home. Production wizards got wind of the project and offered their help in recordingit. The likes of Jeff Zucker, Holly Schiffer, Peter Rosenfeld, Darin Moran, Jean Martin, Andy Blumenthal, and Nick Phoenix rearranged schedules to participate. Holly Schiffer was able to get three High Definition cameras (Panasonic HVX250’s), and an AVID editing facility. When Jeff Zucker went to pick up the camera package, Ted Schilowitz happened to be there and offered a RED camera set up on a SteadiCam.
“Production wizard” Jeff Zucker appears to also be President & CEO of NBC Universal Jeff Zucker. At least David Zucker (apparently no relation) sticks with adults for his political work. Will Sing for Change get its own variety-hour special next?
Update III: NBC denies this is the same Jeff Zucker:
“It’s a different Jeff Zucker,” wrote an NBC spokesperson to Politico.
Fair enough. However, this Jeff Zucker has access to an expensive, professional studio quality stereo microphone set and enough cash for an expensive full-color 3′x5′ original Obama poster behind the children, plus a pretty nice camera.
Update IV: Bob Owens notes that this Jeff Zucker appears to be a Hollywood gaffer, with a credit on Boogie Nights. Great movie, by the way, but Wonderland was more factual.

I cringe whenever I read a thread title like the one above. Even if it’s meant in humour. All the moderators here seem to do it. I think it’s time for a policy change, folks. I wouldn’t say anything if I didn’t think it was important. You really should word it another way. Y’know like uh, the “phony/false/fake/ fraudulent/fictitious/counterfeit/bogus messiah?” Trust me, feeding the “Obama Messiah” myth is not be beneficial for you. Really, it’s not worth it. Why? Well, for lot’s of reasons one being that every unnecessary (ie, idle, empty) word we will have to give an account of in the day of judgment. See Matthew 12:36. Another being the “Obama is the New Messiah” can confuse people away from Jesus Christ, the true Messiah! “Oh wow, everybody’s Messiah how much fun!!” Messiah this! Messiah that! You get my point. We will be judged for our idle talk and for being a cause of temptation to others, for woe, it is said, ” to that man by whom the offence cometh!” (Matthew 18:7). Aside from the title though Ed, I absolutely agree with your point! Children singing for Obama brings to mind how people of North Korea worship, trust and follow the Dear Leader Kim Jong Il as god. The “Dear Leader” is what they say. It’s creepy! But, just like the weird godless religion of Kim-worship is wrong, so are these satirical messianic pretensions of Obama.
“The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee AM HE.” John 4:25-26

This stuff happens bit by bit. Al Qaeda attacked us blatantly and we fought back. America has to be defeated more subtly – never anything blatant enough to cause protests, never anything that couldn’t be explained away. Most of us here are livid about what we see, but what are we gonna do? Start a protest because Obama’s creepy? The Muslims are masters at creating an outcry over nothing, but we can’t even make an outcry when we see a Hitler in the making.
I’d really like the root causes of this financial mess to be brought home clearly to the masses – basically the content in the American Thinker article. This has the potential to cause real America to rise up.

Uhm… all references to “Messiah” as a name for Obama are all sarcastic. It’s been that way for months, no one’s ever meant it seriously… it’s commenting on the slavish way the media and the leftists fawn over him and bow to his every whim. To them, he might as well be the Messiah.
We know better, but we keep using the title – again, with heavy sarcasm – as a way to cut them and him down.

This was absolutely the creepiest thing I have seen that is not fiction. This was not from a movie or tv show, but real people teaching these real children to sing this real bilge. Unfreaking believable! I think the Obama camp is feeling very sure of themselves.

I heard Rush talking about this today, I heard a short clip, (shudder) and I refuse to torture myself by watching or listening to more of it. It’s just more media manipulation by the “one”. This clown and his cult are truly frightening- they might as well be producing little red books with “Obama sayings” in it.
I respect the right of an American to make their choice in this election- however misguided I feel it might be,
I do not and will not ever again respect the MSM for manipulating the news in order to ensure one candidate over another. That’s criminal and demands prosecution; but I won’t hold my breath waiting for it.

This negativity is exactly why The One must win so he can get to work and inspire more projects from a reborn Hollywood to change your minds! Love is in the air and these illuminated youth and the truth squads of the adult change agents can set you free. Feel the economic pain and receive his hand of hope.
These indigo children are the ones we have been waiting for and they yearn for Dear Leader in song, just as many reborn musicians, entertainers and enlightened parents yearn to manifest hope in their own chosen art.
Stop the hate. Feel the love. Let go of all other emotions and enter the grace of Obama.

I think we can go ahead and help these New Messiah folks out… lessee, a quick paraphrase of something that was said earlier last century:
‘At your command, Mr. President, stands here a youth — a youth that does not know class and caste. Behind you, follows the young generation of our people. Because you are the greatest example of unselfishness in this nation, this young generation wants to be unselfish too. Because you embody the concept of fidelity for us, we want to be faithful too. Barak Obama the leader of the American youth and people.’
Now, just substitute mein Fuehrer, Adolf Hitler, and German youth in the appropriate places… gosh, BO’s speechwriters already have all of their work done for them! And who says the Democrats and the New Messiah haven’t found their place in history? These guys have history written all over them, with a bullet.
Do we really think we can stop them?
(BTW – attribute the paraphrased comments to Baldur von Schirach, spoken at a Hitler Youth Rally at Nuernberg in 1934)

“when fascism comes to America, it will not be in brown and black shirts. It will not be with jackboots. It will be Nike sneakers and smiley shirts. Smiley-smiley.”
~George Carlin
Tip of the hat to Jonah Goldberg.
This is a breathtaking moment in time. We are engaged in a multi-year, multi-front war, entering a significant global economic crisis of indeterminate magnitude, facing an energy inflection point/crisis and are on the precipice of the largest govt economic intervention in a century. The very foundation of Bretton Woods has been called into question by thinkers such as Nouriel Roubini.
Against this backdrop we have a cult of personality surrounding a charismatic leader with demonstrably radical associations with individuals and organizations. His adult life was shaped in part by the theological vapors of James Cone with the backstreet brawler tactics of Saul Alinsky. ACORN is the logical bastard child of both with a criminal history of widespread voter fraud. A 5th column of sorts.
Should we be surprised that members of the Obama cult willingly indoctrinate their children and uses them as political props? Hasn’t the Obama campaign emptied the movie backlot of political props from faux presidential seals, airplanes and global political rallies.
The kiddies are the smiling faces behind a hardball, win by any means campaign that attempts to stymie any free speech that is critical of the dear leader, smears critics or uses community activist tactics popularized by Alinsky to mock the opposition and shut down debate. The campaign is so brash as to actually recruit officials within the govt. to investigate and intimidate critics (so-called truth squads). But perhaps most chillingly, the media has become open activists to unapologetically promote the dear one.
Save the specific reference to communism, history is rife with Manchurian-like candidates who emerge at a time of unrest and crisis. Elections are always a Rorschach test of sorts but this one seems particularly ominous.

Suggests that Frank Marshall Davis, communist from Chicago whose wife had social connections there, was familiar with Saul Alinsky and sent Obama to Chicago with connections to the communists there (such as Bill Ayers). And I would add also the black religious extremists – both Black Liberation folks like Wright, the Black Muslim world of Black Panthers, Malcolm X, and Warden/Mansour – all of whom have communist leanings.

Don’t get me wrong. I understand your point about y’know, calling Obama the “Messiah” for sarcastic fun. The moderators here… uh, I don’t think they’re doing it maliciously. I know it’s meant with a hint of sarcasm. But, still it’s disrespectful and y’know, I don’t think GOD is laughing. I really don’t. Do you think GOD finds it funny? My Savior, Jesus Christ, was scourged and beaten beyond recognition, mocked, spit on, and crucified on a cross until He was dead. The scourging was brutal. Chunks of flesh being cut by the whips used for this purpose. But, He went through that for YOU and ME. Even after we disobeyed God, and left Him, and deserted His Will for our life. He still came to try and win us back. He died on the Cross. So um, calling anybody the “Messiah” even for fun is quite offensive. And our words… look what Jesus Himself said about idle talk and gossip, “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned” (Matthew 12:37). Evidently the words men speak will have a bearing on their degrees of reward in heaven, or degrees of suffering in hell. Like I said, I’m only trying to help. I think there’s a better way to go about this than offending the LORD. By the way, there is a false Messiah coming. One day soon the man of sin will be revealed, better known as the antichrist. He will claim to be the Messiah. He will come on the scene at the very beginning of the tribulation period as a man of peace. When he arrives I hope and pray you recognize him because he’s a liar who has come to take your soul with him to hell (Revelation 6:1-2, Revelation 13:4-8, Revelation 13:16-18).

Obama is a socialist. So was Hitler with his German National Socialism. Jonah Goldberg in his book “Liberal Fascism” correctly puts Hitler’s German National Socialism and Mussolini’s Italian Fascism on the LEFT of the political spectrum and correctly reminds us that in the 1920s Italian Fascism and Russian Bolshevism were treated as one phenomenom. So if Obama-mania such as depicted in the clip above strikes one as reminescent of Nazi and/or Communist ritual, there is a good reason.

First, the “it” the little girl’s talking about isn’t “the world”…it’s the Constitution.
Is there any further proof necessary that the statist ambitions of the Left are a godless religion…well, not entirely godless…they do have Obama….
All they needed to make this video really creepy would’ve been having them all wave little red books…Obama’s little Cultural Revolution…Obama’s Great Leap Forward….
…freedom…he’s gonna bring freedom…the freedom of bees in a hive…free to know your place, your part in the collective…free to puke up honey for the common good.
One of the kids in the video even had that 1000K stare of either the true-believer…or the “I’m gonna make it on American Idol” look….
What if you don’t want your nation changed? Will they tear it down anyway? Will they begin reapportioning things anyway…seeing as private property is really theft…or so they say?
Chilling…thanks for bringing this up…chilling….

…I’m surprised at Mr. G’s prescience in writing the book before this campaign cycle…it’s as if he wrote Obama’s playbook…except that Obama’s playbook is as old as Hegel and the heresy of the worship of the state as the instrument of God’s will….
…once again, as in other threads, I jump up and down enthusiastically for Mr. G’s book…he’s nailed Wilson, FDR, Kennedy, Johnson, and now Obama. Statists beware…you’re transparent….
Fascism was always about the cult of personality, as much as it was about the perpetual state of emergency, the vague mantras in their platforms — today it’s “change” and “hope”, where yesterday it was “folk” and “fatherland” — the duty of the individual to the collective and the antipathy for individual solutions or individuals opting out of the collective. Communists, fascists, Democrat statists…three sides to the same bent coin….
OK, OK…I know…but I’m on a roll….
Their crimes go unrevealed, their associates and enablers go unexamined, and their monsters go about their work unencumbered and unobstructed…so, ACORN can go on agitating, intimidating, and pressing the “white guilt” button at will because there isn’t sufficient will to stop them. A 250lb black woman, or a group of them, shows up in your bank lobby shouting ACORN slogans, you cave. You know that nobody’ll back you up…they’ll excuse her and leave you twisting in the wind. No political will.
…as the Chinese say, interesting times….

Ya know, Allah has a soft spot in his heart. Perhaps you could email him and ask him to devote an entire thread to the teachings of Jesus?

This is why it won’t be so bad if Obama wins. We will have four years of virtually limitless comic material that we can make fun of! I mean … I just love this video! Years from now … it will be looked upon as being just as stupid as the movie “Sergeant Peppar’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band”. That movie is excruciatingly painful to watch today … yet … back in 1980 some movie execs sat around a table and said … “Frampton, Bee Gees, Beatles … oh yeah this would be cool.” Same thing here. lol

Odd that the kids are wearing blue shirts. Historically, I believe that those shirts are supposed to be brown.

man, Obama needs to lose. If for no other reason than to crush the dreams of these children

Let’s go ahead and suspend Godwin for a moment:
- One-party system, check
- Welfare state, check
- Collectivism, check
- Government mandated economy, check
- Opposition of political liberalism (freedom of thought, speech, expression)
Any tricks I’m missing from Obama’s bag, yet? Minus pan-Americanism, eugenic manipulation, and antisemitism, I’d say he’s got the whole National Socialism schmear worked out. And I could argue that two of those were phenomena exclusive to Adolf Hitler, and not part of the National Socialist movement in general. Let’s remember that Italian fascism and Lenin’s Communism were considered part of the same Leftist spectrum. Vagaries of historical and personal (read: Hitler) context perverted German National Socialism, but, at its core, it was not very different from Italian fascism or what’s being pushed on us now from the American (read: Obama) Left.
National Socialism isn’t as the Left would have us believe for o, these so many years; that it’s a perverted twist, and natural progression, of conservative politics. It is, and always has been, a cancer of the Left. Don’t shy away from calling it what it is, just because someone 20 years ago said that it was in bad taste to bring up ol’ Adolf as an argument killer.
Sorry, but I think I know a hawk from a handsaw

Oh, one last thing for apacalyps:
Instead of presuming to know the mind of God (”offending Jesus”), maybe you should remember Christ’s words about keeping an eye out for (and calling out – which is what we are doing here) false prophets/messiahs:
(emphasis mine, of course)

I just showed this to my 16 year old and even he is creeped out.
Just for added effect, play both “Tomorrow Belongs to Me” and the Obama kids at the same time. On my pc the “Tomorrow” song is louder and watching the Obama Blue Shirts sing to that song will make the hair on your neck stand up.
I could see these kids singing in 8 to 10 years “Barack Obama Uber Alles”
So when do the blue shirts come into my town and break the store windows?

These ‘new age’ democrats are some sick-Mo-Fo’s using children like this.

Yet another reason to turn the darned TV off and throw the boob tube out the curb.
I can see the future: Obama’s picture placed in every corner of every town and city in America, a la Stalin. Dare to speak against him, and you will be finished. Gulags for Republicans and Conservatives and executions or exile for the most influential ones. Forget the Bill of Rights.
Just watch.

Actually, it reminds me of Children of the Corn.
