Face it, we know she disagrees with McCain on issues, including energy. That’s why many conservatives like her.

Contrast Palin’s performance with Biden’s and I think Palin wins hands down. She has delivered enthusiasm for the ticket, made inroads in voter groups where McCain was weak, and supported her nominee’s positions. Biden has made many gaffes, large and small, including contradicting Obama and the campaign on the email ad and clean coal, to name just two. The man is a buffoon. He made a patently ludicrous comment about FDR reassuring the public about the stock market crash on television, for pete’s sake. He has brought no enthusiasm for the ticket, rather he has highlighted Obama’s deficiencies.

I smell plastic grass. Palin is not a problem, she’s an asset.

How much do you want to bet that John McCain will use “The Bridge to Two Nowheres” in the next debate?

McCain/Palin had better be careful here since McCain didn’t even show up to vote on the appropriations. It’s not good enough for him to say that he would’ve voted “no” on the Bridge to Nowhere had he have been in the Senate that day.

Still, Obama and Biden’s hypocrisy must be made clear to the American people.

They should slam down McCain/Palin = 0 direct Earmarks

And that’s not all. Biden took millions of your tax money to pay for an opera house. And a museum. So his wealthy Washington friends would have more to do on their weekends.

Is this the change we need?

John McCain says NO. McCain has sought NO federal earmarks in 26 years. No to taking your tax dollars to pay for amusements for the rich. McCain will work just as hard as you to to protect your hard earned dollars. Rein in wasteful government spending. Stop sending $700 billion a year to foreign countries for oil. Lower gas prices. Affordable halth insurance. THAT’s the change we need.”

What is happening is exactly what they want to happen, throw enought crap and enough will stick that her desirability will diminish.

No, she is (was) not ready for the savagery of the national politic. But she has the fortitude and character to overcome, and with experience she may well be (and I think will be) the next Margaret Thatcher.

She needs our support and prayers.

Palin has one last opportunity to turn this around for me — the debates. Otherwise, yes, I’m forced to concede that McCain botched his VP nomination and I’m also forced to concede that it reflects poorly on his temperament and judgment. For now, let’s hope Palin rocks this debate.

Palin is at least as ready as the Governor of Arkansas was in 1992.

If you believe Palin was a bad choice, it is really a judgement on McCain’s candidacy. McCain is the one who selected her, and the selection of a running mate is the first presidential decision a candidate makes. What you are doing is sounding the death knell for the McCain campaign. But of course you know that already.

Kudos to CNN for doing their due diligence here….

This is an Alinsky rules for radicals tactic.

The reason we are so FRUSTRATED with the Repubes (going back to Bush refusing to defend himself during the Iraq war; and now McCain giving reacharounds across the aisle) is that we need to take the freakin’ gloves off like these Obama Alinsky-ites.

I mean, it’s right there in the book. Every tactic the Dems do these days. They seem “irrational” and “un-American” to you and me, but THEY WORK.

If anyone knows a group, an anti-Alinsky group that’s not afraid to fight these tactics with like tactics, let me know.

Let’s roll.

You commented while I was typing my comment.

They have repeatedly assured us that the existing bridge is safe.

Yes the currents are treacherous. But how much? Shipping, both commercial and pleasure, have used that inlet to the Indian River bay form hundreds of years.

In Florida and many other places, causways have bee build out to islands. I would have to assume that by using similar construction techniques, the supports, where the erosion has occurred, can be built up.

My wife just told me that the approaches that were built for the new bring are being removed because they had settled too much.

Now they are just throwing good money after bad.

That’s the good part… he hasn’t spent a dime the past week;)

Oh yes he has. I saw McCain ads (I’m in northern Ohio) every night last week, including Weds. and Thurs. nights. This “suspension of his campaign” just meant he didn’t do a few campaign stops. He managed to put in an interview on CBS (which got leaked on Letterman’s show) and he also attended some function for Bill Clinton during the time he was supposed to be in “suspended” mode. It was a stunt.

What they didn’t show on the CNN clip about the Indian River inlet bridge was the two aproaches that have been sitting there since before I moved here.

It’s been a Dhimmicrat boondoggle, cussed and discussed by the locals. I don’t have the figures, but the costs have obviously soared from the original estimates.

The Delaware DOT last year came up with a list of $1,ooo,ooo,ooo (with a “B”) in (mostly unneeded) projects. Instead of telling them to live within their budget, the Dhimmicrat govenor tried to get them the money.

So enters Biden. Instead of finding an alternate to the Indain River inlet bridge, like maybe just fixing the (alleged) erosion around the admittedly safe existing bridge they insist in going ahead with the project.

Now this benefits local business people and the local economy. But it, according to this news story, is going to be done with national, i. e. your, money.

When I first started watching this clip, I thought, “This isn’t the CNN I thought I knew.” But with some disengenuous canera work by not showing the two approaches to nowhere, I realized it’s same-o same-o.

Palin’s done. She’s being openly mocked now. If anyone ever did the same thing to Pelosi, they would pay a high price. Republicans are weaklings; they fail to defend Palin against increasingly outrageous attacks. ***

Jay, I’m a Republican and was an early proponent of Palin. But I can’t defend her performance in these interviews. It’s atrocious and it’s causing me to lose confidence in her. I could defend Palin’s Couric interview if she was strong except for her piss-poor response to the two gotcha questions. But she botched even the easier, “fair” questions. And her performance on Hannity was not exactly inspiring, and Hannity was bending over backwards to give her every opportunity to wow us.

Pelosi is an idiot, which is why you don’t see much of her in the press. And I think the GOP should mock her every chance they can get. But the fact is, Pelosi isn’t running for VP – Palin is. So Palin is getting the attention, and I’m increasingly getting concerned she isn’t ready for prime time. If that’s true, shame on the McCain campaign for putting her in this position.

This monetary policy is used in such havens of competent government as Mexico and most of Africa. Did you know you can buy a candy bar in Mexico for 80,000 pesos? Soon, you will be able to buy the same candy bar in the U.S. for the low low price of $1,500.

I think the government will be able to finance this with treasury bonds, especially since they’re rolling it out in stages. They may actually sell special bonds just for this – I’m honestly not sure.
