AP, at the risk of being accused of trying to cover for Palin, I must say, that link was utterly out of context for the stated topic of the article. Post critical things if you must, but do so honestly.

BTW, I hope you enjoy being silenced under “President Obama” and his “truth squads,” “fairness doctrine,” and “hate speech” codes (and your handle there will definitely have to go), because that seems to be what you are working for.

To all Obama supporters on here: Feel free to laugh at AP’s foolishness. I give you all some credit. You all have your ideological vision set for the long term. You are willing to support a candidate you find to be imperfect, doing so with an eye toward future advancement. Too many on the Right can’t do that, and that is why Hussein even has a chance.

Both candidates agreed that there should be a discussion on economic policy.

You can’t play well unless you master the fundamentals. Here, in this debate, as with any other job interview, what is the first fundamental rule? Always take the question and apply it to something you know, something you have experience with, how you handled a similar problem in the past.

Palin is FANTASTIC, smart, tough, savvy, and she will dominate if she will just be herself fundamentally.

I don’t think AP’s comment on the Gaza question was out of line or a sign of any particular negativity. Her answer on Gaza was indecipherable, simply put.

This is true but also one should ask, how do you answer a question about the institution of democracy winding up with Hamas in charge? Its not an easy answer and there is no good one because democracy isn’t perfect, it depends on the people doing the voting. But you can’t just say that outright, you have to parse and dissemble until the answer is meaningless. Otherwise you make the Palestinians look like blood thirsty terrorists bent on the destruction of Israel. Oh, that’s right, they are, but you can’t say it. Maybe she should just say something like ‘Democracy isn’t perfect, Hitler was elected too.’

It occurs to me that Palin is ‘not ready for prime time’ in the estimation of the pundit and elite class because she isn’t good at one simple thing, that is: LYING.

If she could just lie and move around these questions better, like Bill Clinton, well then, she’d be a ‘polished politician’ ready for the top job at a moments notice.

America needs authenticity right now. Hopefully she’ll be the authentic Sarah Palin, tells it like it is and how she sees things and let’s the chips fall where they may.

Palin’s answer, in full, was this: “Yeah, well especially in that region, though, we have to protect those who do seek democracy and support those who seek protections for the people who live there. What we’re seeing in the last couple of days here in New York is a President of Iran, Ahmadinejad, who would come on our soil and express such disdain for one of our closest allies and friends, Israel … and we’re hearing the evil that he speaks and if hearing him doesn’t allow Americans to commit more solidly to protecting the friends and allies that we need, especially there in the Mideast, then nothing will.”

It’s not an ‘out of the ballpark’ answer, but it’s hardly an endorsement of Hamas.

My read of it is that she did the politician thing of ignoring the question that was asked and giving the answer that you wanted to. They asked about Hamas….she answered about Iran. When she talks about supporting people that support democracy, it seems more likely that she’s supporting pro-democracy folks in Iran (especially given her next line is about Achmadinejad).

Since she states quite clearly that Israel is one of our closest friends and allies, I think it’s disingenuous to imply she supports a terrorist organization that is one of Israel’s greatest threats.

I really don’t get Allah…i don’t get the pessimism, and negativity.
