Check out the credentials of Teddy Roosevelt when he was selected VP. Looks almost identical to Sarah Palin.

jdawg on September 28, 2008 at 10:41 AM
In the interest of accuracy and heading off incoming, I must correct this:

Roosevelt had been Assistant Secretary of the Navy and was well-versed in international affairs. He led troops into battle.

But the real question is : how will the Jooos and blacks be treated by Palin? If racist, I think you will answer one way; if you are not racist, you will not answer.

Fuquay Steve on September 27, 2008 at 7:28 PM
I'll take the bait.

My suspicion is, she won't think too much about them as groups, but rather more as individual people. You see, Fuqer, people have rights not because they are members of a group or class, not even a "traditionally oppressed" one, but rather because they are people. (Socialism demands that this truth be discarded in favor of using "traditionally oppressed" groups to forward their agenda.)

As VP, I believe she will uphold this principle.

Is there a test one has to pass to be a good VP candidate? Is it administered by the media? Is it scored based on the media’s “vetting?” Scored on he curve or percentage? Was Lyndon Johnson a good VP candidate? After the assassination, he gave us the Great Society,..but he sure had plenty of experience going in.

I heard one of the drive-bys on O'Reilly once say that McCain should have run his pick through the media for thier approval - I kid you not. I could not believe the arrogance of that person. BTW, Check out the credentials of Teddy Roosevelt when he was selected VP. Looks almost identical to Sarah Palin.

So are we giving ourselves an excuse to lose, is that it? Between the elitists (she's too common, she's not ready, she's an embarrassment) and the McCain Derangement Syndrome sufferers, it looks like everybody's just drooling to hand the White House to Obama on a silver platter.

I thank God for Sarah Palin, and I have a feeling that history
will become herstory; she may someday be commander in chief, and I have a feeling that, if that happens she will be our of our best and brightest Presidents. She's good, folks, which is why the Left and the far Left attack her so much. If she were a weakling, a nobody Republican (Denny Hastert comes to mind) they would be cheering her dragging the McCain ticket down to oblivion. But the truth is Palin is the sparkplug that has gotten the Republicans engine going.
Dems WISH they had a Sarah Palin instead of Joe Biden.

Sarah Palin is getting beat up from both the Left AND the Right because she's a libertarian.

The Left hates her cause she's cool, and culturally hip. And she's got an 'R' by her name. That's not supposed to happen.

Conservatives are uncomfortable with her cause she doesn't fit the traditional Republican mold. Thus, some like George Will, criticize her and say she's "not ready for prime time."

Hey both you all Liberals and Conservatives. Libertarians are here to stay. Besides Sarah, we have Idaho Governor Butch Otter, SC Gov. Mark Sanford, Arizona Cong. Jeff Flake, and California's Tom McClintock.

We're up and coming. Better get used to it.

And if you liked that putz BO's stress busting drug use, how's 'bout his brownshirt activities in MO...even sickens the Governor from a posting on this blog moments ago:

Gov. Blunt Statement on Obama Campaign’s Abusive Use of Missouri Law Enforcement

JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Matt Blunt today issued the following statement on news reports that have exposed plans by U.S. Senator Barack Obama to use Missouri law enforcement to threaten and intimidate his critics.

“St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer, and Obama and the leader of his Missouri campaign Senator Claire McCaskill have attached the stench of police state tactics to the Obama-Biden campaign.

“What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous beyond words, the party that claims to be the party of Thomas Jefferson is abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment.

“This abuse of the law for intimidation insults the most sacred principles and ideals of Jefferson. I can think of nothing more offensive to Jefferson’s thinking than using the power of the state to deprive Americans of their civil rights. The only conceivable purpose of Messrs. McCulloch, Obama and the others is to frighten people away from expressing themselves, to chill free and open debate, to suppress support and donations to conservative organizations targeted by this anti-civil rights, to strangle criticism of Mr. Obama, to suppress ads about his support of higher taxes, and to choke out criticism on television, radio, the Internet, blogs, e-mail and daily conversation about the election.

“Barack Obama needs to grow up. Leftist blogs and others in the press constantly say false things about me and my family. Usually, we ignore false and scurrilous accusations because the purveyors have no credibility. When necessary, we refute them. Enlisting Missouri law enforcement to intimidate people and kill free debate is reminiscent of the Sedition Acts - not a free society.”

From Larry Sinclair's blog:

Obama and Campaign Advisers Smoking Pot on the Campaign Trail?
When is it appropriate to drug screen a Presidential candidate? Weed stays in the system for more than 30 days, would Barack Obama and his campaign advisers agree to submit to drug testing immediately? If you have nothing to hide, why wouldn't you pee in the cup?

Below is information that I know to be from credible sources and it raises the same issues, Barack Obama continues to lie about the extent and time line of his illegal drug use!

"...a spouse of a very high ranking Barack Obama campaign adviser, has expressed publicly her anger with her husband's on going actions. She found out her husband, along with Barack Obama and two other advisers, one female, have/still are smoking pot on several occasions after campaigning events."

So apparently you were born sometime after Nov. 2, 2004. Otherwise you’d have heard of John Edwards.

Jim Treacher on September 27, 2008 at 7:15 PM

In his time in the Senate, Edwards co-sponsored 203 bills.[17] Among them was Lieberman's 2002 Iraq War Resolution (S.J.Res.46), which he co-sponsored along with 15 other senators, but which did not go to a vote;...

I think that qualifies as a paper trail.

So you approve of meeting with Iran, and attacking in western Pakistan?

exhelodrvr on September 27, 2008 at 7:21 PM

Yes, I agree with Obama's positions as laid out in the debate.

Ric,

I see you have covered your patooty by saying "modern VP pick". Palin has an opinion on foreign policy and if the MSM would ask her pertinent questions regarding foreign policy when they have the oppotunity instead of "gotcha" questions, her views would be brought out.

As a matter of fact, could you explain Obama's foreign policy?

But the real question is : how will the Jooos and blacks be treated by Palin? If racist, I think you will answer one way; if you are not racist, you will not answer.

The point I’m trying to make is that it’s unprecedented for any modern VP pick to not have an establish paper trail outlining his or her viewpoints on foreign policy.

I think i have seen everything "known" about Sarah Palin, Maybe i'm smitten but I think she will do well against Biden. MSM will say she did O.K. but the audience and spot polls will show approval and media will reluctantly give her a passing grade. Dont forget, the media has everyone's expectations so low that If she just show's up, she might actually beat the expectations anyway...

Are you saying that Obama has the right foreign policy.

Amadeus on September 27, 2008 at 6:27 PM

I'm actually a Obama supporter who compulsively reads Hotair for insight into what conservatives are thinking and to have my liberal viewpoint challenged. I guess I should start out each post with a disclaimer as to not mislead people. So yes I do support Obama's foreign policy. The point I'm trying to make is that it's unprecedented for any modern VP pick to not have an establish paper trail outlining his or her viewpoints on foreign policy. This is what in my mind definitely disqualifies her, not her lack of experience. Reasonable people can disagree on foreign policy, but I don't think it's unreasonable that a candidate a heartbeat away from the presidency at least have a record on foreign policy on which to disagree?
