Via Breitbart and HuffPo. Surprisingly, it doesn’t appear to be oppo research: Not only is the guy who (claims he) found it willing to show his face in the vid, but his YouTube account’s been active for two years.
He’s promising more to come, including the talent competition segment in which she plays the flute. Fun and humanizing for most of us, fun and humiliating for media types already given to comparing her to Miss Teen South Carolina.
Update: And almost at the minute I publish this post, it’s yanked from YouTube in a copyright claim. Um, how does Splash News have the copyright to this very old video? And more importantly, when are they planning to roll it out?
Update: I feel obliged to give you something to watch, so here’s College Humor’s middling takeoff on Matt Damon comparing Palin to a Disney movie.

I saw this last night flipping through channels, on one of those Entertainment Tonight type shows. They had a more recent clip of Sarah talking about it, probably when she was mayor or running for governor. She said how awful it was that she had to rotate around to show the judges her butt. (Love how she emphasizes those t’s at the end of words.)

I watched it – 1:47 long of which one minute is some dweeb guy standing in his living room from Juneau introducing the tape like he has just found the gold of Alaska.
After that is just shows Palin walking around (in the same blurry quality as the shot above) and the announcer talking about Palin just like they do at all beauty contests.
Arnold Schwarzeneggar, was in lots of muscle show videos and bad movies showing off his muscles in his early days. He still became governor of California.
And I would like to see some early videos of Obama hangin’ out in the hood smoking pot and snorting coke….maybe Bill Ayers would be there, too.
One thing for sure, we will never have to worry about seeing an old video tape of Michelle Obama appearing in a beauty contest….ugh..

I watched the snippet and as a mother of a daughter who recently competed in a pageant (no swimsuit competition however), Sarah did very well. No missteps, very poised. Nothing to be ashamed of.

As soon as a news outlet of any sort picks this up, it’s going to become fair game. Splash owns the copyright, yes, but the value of it as a privately owned tape is about to drop faster than a new Yugo that was just registered. Once it becomes news, kiss it good bye, Splash. As what happened to the Rodney Kind video. The owner of that one sold the rights to one LA sation, and once they broadcast it, others copied it off the air and played it because they were reporting on what another station was playing. Needless to say the owner was upset that he couldn’t make any more money off his tape.
